I know, right? Thanks Dennis! There are a couple people in the Model A community whom I have apparently rubbed the wrong way and give all my videos a thumb down. Joke is on them because thumbs up or down all count the same! They both count toward "engagement" in TH-cam's algorithm. If they really wanted to hurt my video channel, they shouldn't do anything al all. Then my engagement will go down and TH-cam won't recommend my videos as often.

Beautiful job Paul and Tina. I’m hoping you will get another project car and take us along every step of the restoration. Of course the upside is that in the end, you will have a Model A that will practically sell itself and you can make a few dollars. I think it’s a good format for your show.

    Hi paul dwight hear.
    I have a recommendation
    For any electrical
    Ground be it positive
    Or negative ground
Connect a flexible hefty ground strap
From the clamshell to the frame also.
    Because power may
Go through gears and other mechanical things and cause
Intermittent power flow to the lights or any
Other electrical hardware internal arcing through the gears can cause premature ware and pitting in the gears of the transmission or axle and differential
They'll get noisy and fail metal will show up
    In the oil. For instance
If a ground from the Battery is connect to an engine then an additional ground should be connected from
The engine to the frame and body to keep the power from
    Flowing through moving parts wich
    Is not good. The drive
    Trane may be mounted
    On rubber mounts or
    Insulators and cause
    High resistance.

Great video Paul, as per your suggestion I lowered the float level by adding another gasket to the float valve although it was right on the 1 inch that the Andrews manual calls for, measures 1 & 1/8 now and seems to have cured the problem of dying when breaking going downhill. I have only driven it once since. The battery has shot craps now, less than 2 yr's old, Orilleys finest. What battery do you recommend? Also I have one of those elbow type air cleaners you see on most A's now days and while messing with the carburetor I noticed the fit is so bad a lot of dirt is bypassing the filter. What do you use?

Spark plug gap is determined by the compression ratio. Model A with a stock head is just barely over 4.2:1, so 35 thou. is the gap. If you run a high compression head, then you might want to close the gap a little.

Paul, wanting this car could be a problem. Reminds me of when my grandson was little, we would go to the box store and travel down the toy aisle. I could see his eyes light up. I would say to him, ' OK, sure you can get a toy, just one though'. That last part of my go ahead was so frustrating for him. He would pick up one, see another one, pick that one instead. This would go on as long as I would let it. I'd say, 'OK, we have to go, so pick one now'. So, this Athena is giving you the same conundrum. Do I keep her or sell her? So I keep her and sell another one? I know, the questions just keep coming. Maybe you fantastic wife can help you out here. Maybe she could claim Athena as hers, maybe? I mean after all Paul, it does have a female name. The only thing I can see that might give you pause is if your wife has Hooptie and you have to ask if you can drive her. haha. Good luck with is decision.

I am stuck in the 1930s, I do NOT want: power steering, power brakes, automatic transmission, air conditioning, high performance engine, speeds over 55, computers, radio, media player, high maintenance, aerodynamics, cup holders (arrgg). The direction auto's took after this is so very disappointing, where fast driving, high performance on the public roads became the insanity call. I have raced professionally and realize what it takes to take a minute off an hour of your track time. In traffic, that minute shrinks to nothing. Driving fast and reckless (tailgating) won't get you there much faster, and risking the lives of families on the road to save that one minute an hour is criminal. I have a little tear in my eye that this "hooptie" is not coming home with me. I am a hooptie, I want seat belts a full set of gauges including speed, trip, od, tach, vacuum, oil pressure, oil temperature, water temperature, block temperature (flat head), fuel level, amps, battery charge level. Please don't block me from your channel for being a "hooptie". :) I just looked up "hooptie" = old worn out car, I though it meant non-traditional, altered, (non-original).
