I just got this hedge trimmer. I like the concept and it works well enough right out of the box. However, on my third use, the tool jammed. Turns out a moving blade edge had folded and jammed against the fixed blade. I ground down the blade edge and was back in business. I think the blade is not made of tempered steel and is too soft for the application. This does not bode well for longevity. The other gripe I have is less important but significant. The tool is heavy without pole extension and almost uncontrollable with extension. It unwieldy and requires a lot of attention to maintain balance and control. I can live with the weight if the tool lasts but if the blades suffer early failure, that is bad.
Hi, my first hedge trimmer of this same model got stuck too, but I admit I challenged it past it’s capacity trying to cut branches bigger than supposed to. I went ahead and bought a replacement and I’m treating that one carefully and it’s been working great so far. I didn’t check to closely on the one that got stuck, but I will do that now since you were able to fix yours, I might have a chance to fix mine.
@@SeviDad Yeah, I the hedge has to be green with no woody or dead branches. I think .25 inch branches are the limit. I also applied ATF on the blade as lubricant so the blades slide past each other with less friction. Don't think this was necessary but it seems to help.

@@encinobalboa I agree, it doesn’t hurt to add ATF, good idea!
Its weak and constantly jams
@@danmc1453 maybe yours is defective? Mine doesn’t constantly jams, I make sure I don’t use it to cut branches that are bigger than it can handle.
What's the cutting capacity of this trimmer? I saw 1" somewhere but 5/8" elsewhere
@@ntang4922 the cutting capacity is 5/8”
