She just hasn’t figured out that your knuckle hair is your true weak spot yet!😂
Birb be like:
No fingers? , No problem I'll bite my own fingers
I’m about to braid those knuckle hairs
you don't know my birb.....she starts biting my knuckles and it isnt nibbling like yours, its an actual murder attempt 😭
birds are so bipolar
I'll be petting my bird and he'll be nibbling me a bit and adjusting his head so I can pet him how he wants and then out of nowhere he tries to murder my finger
my budgie never ever bit me once it only nibbles or does a peck attack if angry
Mine has literally flown at my face angrily for putting the other bird to bed first 💀
I'm distracted by the long hair on them knuckles. OMGGGG WHAT ARE THOOOOOOSE?! 😭😭🤣😂
The bird is just playfully nibbling. If it was actually being aggressive, it would just find somewhere else to bite, or would just fly away from you to get some personal space. So if anyone's confused, you don't have to worry if your bird does this gentle sort of thing with your fingers. Can never tell if this guy is joking or if he's actually ignorant of his birds' behavior lol
It's a cockatiel, they can't actually bite hard! I think a lot of their owners are oblivious as to what larger bird's bites are actually like! My neighbour with tiels was telling me the other day how he had huge problems with his boy a few years back & nearly gave it away, but managed to get an implant for his hormones instead, he goes on to tell me how his bird had "literally drawn blood" um yeh, that's normal even with gentle warning bites with the bigger birds lol! He was seriously speaking as if it was totally unbearable & something seriously wrong with the bird that it could possibly ever draw blood!
@@mehere8038 I've been bitten pretty hard by a cockatiel before and it was a warning not to try to touch him. It was enough to make me draw away from him. That bird in particular, on the other hand, would only lightly boop my husband with his beak if he was grumpy with him because he trusted him more. They usually only bite HARD if they don't wanna be messed with or if they're aggressive/sexually frustrated. A cockatiel isn't going to behave the same as a cockatoo or a conure lol they're all different birds with different behaviors. It's very possible that your neighbor's tiel was drawing blood. Just because you have experience with larger birds that bite more often doesn't mean he's lying or being dramatic. That was his experience. Also, if a cockatiel is biting you as hard as it can very frequently, that is a problem and that behavior needs to be looked into. Sometimes it can get bad enough that people rehome them if they don't understand the source of the problem. It's true that some species of parrot will just bite or nip sometimes, but it shouldn't be so often that it's stressful whenever you handle them. In your neighbor's case, it seems like his tiel was sexually frustrated and attacking its owner because they weren't willing to mate with it. This unfortunately does happen in male cockatiels, who will bloody a female and rip her feathers out if she refuses his sexual advances, if not inevitably killing her. It makes sense that it would take that same unrelenting violence out on a human, especially if that human is petting it in erogenous places like the wings or back. But in some cases, a hormonal implant is the only thing that can be done, for the sake of the owner's hands as well as the cockatiel's stress levels.
@@mehere8038 drawing blood is unusual for a cockatiel.
Cockatiels dont behave like some other parrots so finding one thats extremely aggresive and bites hard enough to draw blood is rare and unusual.
Not to mention. It might be small. But a violent cockatiel can still take a decent chunk out of ypu if it wants to.
Got a parakeet from a big chain pet store (stupid I know) but anytime I get too close or try hand training with him, he tries to rip off skin. He's successfully done so multiple times, but even if I can't hold him I still make sure he is properly taken care of. He has a huge flight cage ment for much larger birds, I got it so he can be healthy with exercise. I love Mr. Feisty a lot, even if he won't let me hold him.
@@foxpatternedferret476the secret is to find his favorite food fed bit by bit by hand. he'll be fast friends in no time
its adorable that your bird is trying to preen you the entire time 😂
That is some long finger hair
Literally just wanted to say "hairy men are my #1 reason for staying on the planet"
@ryancortenbach8550 like, my finger hair doesn't even grow a quarter of that length. It's basically peach fuzz. Honestly, its kinda impressive
"No finger fries? Fine I will eat my Feet fries"
Man has a spider growing out of his finger.
it got scared by your hair lol
legend says every time the gets a new bird his finger hair will grow more longer
Those are longest finger hairs that I've seen 😂😂😂
Those are some pretty good tac tics, but a very angr birb is not friendly.
My brother’s birds learned to get around that by pulling hairs on the knuckles. It hurt.
Cute bird.
Both my cockatiels will bite whatever part of my finger or hand that's available. Sometimes they bite the finger they're perched on, they don't care.
I am so lucky mine are the sweetest birbs. They are super gently and polite with me. I used to have a budgie that was super bitey tho, she bit till u bled and then some more. Good times
I like how she bit her own foot like she's trying to convey the message "I want to bite your fingy 🥺"
‘No fingers to eat? Well I’ll just preen myself until they’re back.’
I'm surprised he's not going after those finger hairs 😅
I like this birb. It made me happy.
Never let's them know your next move:
bite the finger that he standing on
Am I the only one who thinks its adorable? Cause it doesn't even hurt
Aww we call that nibbling
These are love nibbles or preening. Obviously your lil bird has a great bond with u ❤️
Birds will almost always bite you even if they’re super affectionate. Sometimes it’s a sign to two you you’re scritching in the wrong spot or he’s ready for bed or hangry lol. Its not always bad unless it becomes too often
Such a cute Lutino Cockatiel!!
I actually love it when my bird sits on my hand like this, and tries to nibble on my fingers. You know that it’s not a rage bite but a sweet caress. Mine would ask for scratches then if I don’t seem to hit the spot, she gives me a harmless cute bite.
This has helped me so much with my birds! Thank you!!!
Birds will be birds if it does try bite just leave it be and he will come to u when he’s ready that’s what mine does but he can also draw blood the little shit 🥰😂🥰
I have birds and when they bite i dont scream and shout like ive seen other people do. I just tell them a calm and gentle "no." Then they stop because they know the word "no"
I'm sorry if this is rude but I have never seen hairier fingers. those hairs gotta be like 1in long.
Thank you I’m earning trust with my cockatiels got him in March but he was on my sons friends house before! I always open cage n show love millet or looking at your birds as well as song to him he likes that goes in by himself good boy
*Puts fingers away*
Birb has stopped working
My kocktiel when I do that:
No fingers?
No worries
ATTACKS MY THUMB-*
What we do is bend our wrist so our fighty bird can't bite good enough to cause harm. He always looks so shocked when we don't react to his attack lol
Your tiel is too nice, knuckles won't stop other devils 🤣
A quaker parrot would beg to differ. My fingers are covered in scars 😂
That looks like a playful kind of bite though. Mine hisses when it’s a mad bite and you can feel it a lot more
乗り換えて親指を噛み始めるんですが…親指も引っ込めればいいんですね?……ずるいぞ。私にも撫でさせろ…
It’s called breaking, they do it to test structure stability, like how some burns will tap their feet then crossing ice, now if it’s hissings, then it’s mostly liking biting
I am now invincible to birb attacks thanks to you.
your bird is so cute
what a sweetie this birb.
Are we just going to ignore that knuckle hair??
I was about like, everyone here ignoring that rainforest thickness of a knuckle hair?
How do you have hair growing there
If you look at your own finger you can see you have hair there too, some are just longer, thicker and darker than others
Birb seeing fingers: “nom nom”
Birb not seeing fingers: “FEEEEEEEET”
This is so cute!
I've seen your video for a long time. I have a parrot too, but I respect the way you treat it.
you got a whole mustache on your finger
🤣🤣🤣how she angrily preens her feathers once she realizes she can no longer bite you!!! Hahaha 🤣🤣🤣
Thank you so much for this!
Meanwhile my bird: okay, hooman, I can bite the one I’m sitting on right now.
Bird:NO FINGERS
Bird again:I just suck my own fingers
Worked like a charm
your bird is now plotting to attack your knuckle hairs as revenge
Cockatiels are so sweet. They tend to be scared of everything including their shadow but they really try to trust their caregiver. You can tell
My conure would just bite my knuckles. Ha. She’s a sweet girl, but often gets mad when she doesn’t get her way.
I’ve got scars to prove this doesn’t prevent biting. Having a well trained birdie is what prevents biting.
I love the confusion of the bird... "no fingers?.. what do I do now?.. feet? ... preen? ....aaaaahhhh!"
Holy knuckle hair, the bird probably thought a worm was coming out of the grass
my bird is like "no fingers? You fool, there's the whole hand to bite."
Awe she was givin you little love nibbles n kisses not biting
Skittles just nibbles. Poor feather child wanted to sleep in bed with me tonight too haha
as a pineapple conure owner. Its been 5 days since i got my lil shanty. He ( or she, ill refer to him as a he/him because we havent got the DNA test yet as he is still 2 months.) Has bonded with me within 2 days but my man wont stop trying to bite my fingers. A psycho and a sweetheart fr 😓
My cockatiel is like EAT HAIR when she is on my arm
This was helpful😮✨
I love this birds sweet sweet Angels 🕊️🕊️🕊️
this bird was picking at your nails trying to help your feathers come out (obviously, you didn't agitate him because he's your buddy). but your weird finger hair looks kind of like spider legs
This helps so much thanks
My houseduck Wobbles: *_"challenge accempt"_*
My bird always liked to chew on fingernails, not because it was angry, I think it just liked the feeling. I didn't really care all that much though.
That's an intelligent way to confuse the biting bird. 😂
Cockatiels are hilarious
Nah parrot be flying like superman
"hmm, the fingers are gone, ah well knuckles are acceptable"
Not all bites are hostile bites. Sometimes its a playful bite and other times they just want food.
She just stopped and was like "...no nibbies??"
he's like "does my beak still work"
Awww so cute I will try it on my 4 pet parrots 🦜
❤ Beautiful lutino! Yes if they want to get you they can draw blood.
Sometimes they are just trying to groom you they will clean up your cuticles nice I miss my sweet little birdie 🙌❤️
birdie was licking not biting, affectionate little birdie.
My cockatiel died a few days ago. He looks just like him. I love these cute birds so much. I really miss mine. They can be such amazing companions.
"Jokes on you I have a lovebird that bites hard as hell."
My bird is so gentle even if it gets scared it still won't bite me, just just kinda puts it's mouth on my skin like it's threatening me
My when the bird bit the fingers/ tried to: “ nom nom nom nom nom :3”
The way he’s biting looks like he’s trying to preen you-
These cute little bites ❤....my parrot bites me and my soul leaves my body every time it bites me😅😅
So cute bird
Actually they need to bite something for beak sharpening so they bite. They will get stressed if you don't allow them to bite anything.... If the cockatiel scratches himself it means that he is stressed or frustrated..... I do allow my Aussie to bite and to scratch me when he wants to avoid his frustrations...... ❤
What do you do if your bird hates people and bites harder than you.
The way he tried to bite his own 😭❤
there's a difference between exploratory nips/nibbles, and a true bite. This is a bird comfy with you. They're not initiallly biting but exploratory trial'ing.. They know their humans' scent. And by taste want to make sure the finger/perch they choose is safe by smell. Which taste/test nibs come into if a simple sniff doesn't suffice. Smart little beans they are!
should also add- your baby birdlet is very well handled!! Im happy to see it. A healthy, happy cockatiel :)
When I do this, the bird doesn't care, but continues biting 🤣
Your sweet birb was never trying to actually harm you. She was just nibbling. Now my feral birbo will still find a way to draw blood.
true. my monster birb would torn off any residue skin that i have. most is gone by now. i love birbs 🦧
Exactly, bro doesn't know what a bite from a bird actually is. :"""") My dinosaur bird does the same as yours too
@@littlemo8183 im sure your bird is a beauty 🥰
