    In the second game, at around 23:50, I said that it's an easily winning endgame. It is, but I should have explained how. White has to play f4 to prevent black from advancing on the kingside. After that it is easily winning. Any other move instead of f4, though, and black wins in one move with g5, creating a passed pawn. Sorry about not clarifying that.

      i was about to comment on that until i saw this response in the comment section. Im not gonna blame you but i think this is a critical tactic in any pawn endgame. No one should ever allow a move like g5 for black here.

    You're awesome!! I just found your channel looking at one of your videos on the Giuoco Piano, and it's so cool to see that you're sharing your journey to GM w/ the world. I also love love love your video design and thumbnails, it shows how much effort you put into the channel! Thanks :)

    You're finished with the theoretical endgames? Or do you just prefer for now the GM examples / early engames?

    • @HangingPawns
      @HangingPawns  3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      This is what I enjoy doing now. I think the theoretical endgames are far from finished. Probably 50 or so videos before it's a decent series.

    In the last variation of the second game (Petrosian-Botvinnik 5th game) where you exchange all pieces on c7 and after Kf7 (with black pawns on g6 and h5), black wins by g5-h4 (outside passwd pawn).

    Amazing video as always. I would love to see a video made on korchnoi his rook endgames,though not as accurate, are exciting and complex. Would recommend you check his game against karpov in 1978 round 31

    As a German, I enjoyed the word "Zugzwang" to be pronounced right for a change. Americans say it like "Sooksweng". Horrible
