I bought a lovely Hurley stick in Irelands 41 years ago, I hung in on the wall in my shack, I take it down once ion a while and I step out side with hanging down on my right side and sometimes I carry it across my chest it still looks and feels great, it has got a lovely swing and it always hits the bay to the very spot I ask of it. I have a plan which I will carry out one day after I finish completing my life-long sentence of working day and night on the chain gang. I will step out at an All Ireland final as a guest player, I will be given the honor of striking the final ball in a hard-fought game with the scores even moments before the final whistle, I will step up, collect the ball 62 yards back, hit the ball with the most beautiful swing and score, I do not ask for a medal, a cup or a clap on the back or the cheering fans, as I will be fully satisfied with scoring with my most favorite hurley and will place for the final time up on the wall in my old shack
@ynotmcduck your message appears to have been deleted, but I saw it in my notifications. The company does indeed still exist. They now make hurlys from ash _and_ also from bamboo (!)
Alot of hurley makers could be stopping now, Ash die back and hard to source healthy Ash from abroad is not helping... The old style hurley was nicer newer style have massive bass on them
Great video

A plastic Hurley absolutely shocking!! Traditions and Heritage is very important
Where would you get a good hurley these days? (I'm living abroad) The style is different too these days, I think
