Love that shot at the end with Baguette and the pillows. You didn't fail... you have to try stuff. Think if all the great discoveries that have been made because someone tried something new. I once tried to make a birthday cake for my husband from scratch instead of using a mix. I was all proud of myself but the oven broke and surged hot. It turned the cake into a brickette. I scraped off all the burned bits and pasted the good parts into a smaller cake. I stuck one of those singing candles into it and lit it. As I was carrying it too the table, the cake started to fall apart. The candle sank at an angle like the Titanic. I sang, "Happy Birthday to y-you..." and then broke down in sobs as the cake imploded. The candle would not stop singing, although it was muffled and glitches from the frosting grave in which it lay. My husband sat there, horrified, while I sobbed into his shitty cake. The candle wouldn't stop so we put it outside in the trash where it played for three days, sounding creepier and creepier as the battery slowly died.
I’m dead. OMG this story is the sweetest, funniest, and most tragic. Trying to make the mini cake of good parts is exactly what I would have done. And of course the Haunted Candle had to live on. Wow. What a memorable fail.
Though sad about your cake , you and your husband now have fond memories of the crazy event. I am very sure that you have baked many cakes since then. That cake story will be cherished by your children and grandchildren. 🤗🤗
It's good to show the fails, they're fun to watch. AND - what's up with that awesome spice cabinet, oh do tell and how about a show and tell, I love what I saw of it. While you're at it, a tour of your kitchen. TY
💙💙💙 Ah, that spice cabinet was my first quarantine project. While the shelves were already there, I just ordered the jars and labels. Yet, of course, I barely use them.
Thank you for the turmeric idea. I never thought it has craft applications until now. Im Asian and I take turmeric supplements as good alternative to relieve muscle aches and pains as well as a coloring to my fried rice. It does a great job. But dyeing fabric is a whole other level. I sew so this will be a welcome craft ingredient to my next project. I will be making throw pillow covers using this dye. It has such a warm antique yellow tint which I love. I love the way your video naturally flows. Your candidness is refreshing.
It's actually really good to know about the hibiscus flower and beet because one a bored weekend I probably would have tried that and now I know. Lol. Thanks. p.s Baguette, you're a beautiful model!
Also, science nerd notion number dos: that overwhelming feeling you get when you tell Baguette “you’re so cute”? Ya, that’s cute aggression!!!!! A sign that you reallllllllllllly love her 😻😻
Oh gosh! I don't know where to start 😁 1. Thank you so much for this video and thinking about us and not depriving us of your funnyness and baguette's cuteness 💘 2. One who never makes mistakes is the one who never tries anything new, Einstein 🤓 3. I once wanted to glue some wooden sheperes together with gorilla glue to make some decor girl I made so much mess ruined all the spheres and a table cloth and it was a total failure with no result! You got a beautiful result in the end 😍 The pillows are gorgeous!! 😃
Oh that poor table cloth! Haha. Honestly, I love hearing about these fails. We’ve all had them! And maybe I will turn that Einstein quote into an art piece or something because that is a great thing to remember.
The worst diy fail turned into an amazing project! Yay🤩 This looked simple enough for me to try and I stink at diy’ing🤣 I cannot tell you of a worse fail cuz I give up when I see them going off track. I am a partial diyer!
You did a great job. I learned a lot about everything I do wrong trying to dye fabrics. PS gray is beautiful, and so are the colors you came up with. Thank you!
Aww. You made it work. That is all that matters. The end result was very nice. One of your best assets is that you can make fun of yourself and that keeps us coming back. Well, that and the fact that the majority of your projects do end up quite nice. Very nice in fact. 😎😎
Awesome!!! LOVE ING! the turmeric colour💛💛💛👏👏👏. Gorgeous. A shame about the hibiscus flower...if I had to guess I would have thought it would have been the strongest dye! Sure not lol. And beetroot..? Normally stains just looking at it! Bizarre. Thank you for the laughs and the learning. Great ending 💟🐈🐯
Here are the plants from which you can obtain blue dye: Fruits: blueberries, blackberries, cherries, strawberries, raspberries, blackcurrants. Plants: blackthorn roots and berries, dogwood bark, chicory flowers, lavender flowers. letting the tinted fabric soak in vinegar water helps to fix the color a little. I love how turns out this amazing yellow.
Thank you. Fortunately, he’s good and I miraculously didn’t get it. The wallpaper is my fave. That gave me the best laugh I've had in ages. The disappointment when it turned out underpants grey. LOL 🤣🤣 the yellow was pretty though. Do they smell of turmeric?
... the funny thing: in germany "Hagebutten"-Tea (rose hup) is very common and most of the cases has Hibiskus mixed in it. Thanks to this experiment, expecting my kitchen, i sure will choose the tumeric and not the tea, next time I want to diy -dye :-) So: U suffered so we dont have too
Ooooh, good to know. I’ve seen some very pretty tea dyes all around the internet, but I will forever be traumatized by any hibiscus hybrid. 😭 (Are you watching from Germany?)
Ok I’m starting to think that it would have stayed that blue but the beet dye had some pickled beets in it (because ya girl does not research), and I think maybe the salt ended up stripping all the color out in some weird way. 🤦♀️
A dye and soup to scare off covid and any other unsuspecting germs in one! Maybe fresh, uncooked beets would've been more colourful?🤷♀️ Most of my diy's are er...slap dash and wonky. I stuck small ikea rugs to my stairs as a cheap runner. Made an unholy mess going around the corner part. 15 years later they're still wonky and still there. Mainly because they're completely immovable 👍
Haha. Why are our worst DIYs always indestructible? The paint that won’t come off. The rug that is stuck. It’s a mystery (and maybe related to quantum physics). And uncooked beets absolutely would have been the right call. Someday I will recreate this to complete my redemption story. 🤦♀️

This Is my favorite episode so far! Love, how you just keep going ! And the turmeric pillows look perfect!
Haha. Can’t say I didn’t try. The turmeric color really is stunning, though.

I look forward to your videos. You crack me up so much.
That’s so sweet 😍 We gotta keep our spirits up somehow.
Katy you’re a treasure! This was wonderful. Even Baguette looked amazing in front of the pillows!
Even though she has an angry face, she knows those pillows bring out her eyes 😂

Oh, cool! It truly seems like it’s a magic spice! And that particular shade is totally mesmerizing. So I am a 100% turmeric fan now.
UM that spice cabinet deserved its own big reveal, i was GAGGED 🤩
The shocking twist: I never use them bc I am on a cooking strike.
This is the comment that I was looking for. I literally gasped when I saw it.
😳🤯😲
That closeup of Baguette with the gorgeous pillows is a million dollar shot.
I am sending her to modeling agencies.
I love how the "fail" pillow turned into an even deeper turmeric yellow. The end result is amazing!
It was my best mistake result. I can’t get over that color.

Glad to save you a moment of hell! Haha
Gorgeous turmeric powder dying ! Your pillow cases are stunning ! 💓💓💓
I’m turmeric’s number 1 fan now.
They still turned out great.
At least we’ll always have turmeric.
Also, science nerd notion number dos: that overwhelming feeling you get when you tell Baguette “you’re so cute”? Ya, that’s cute aggression!!!!! A sign that you reallllllllllllly love her 😻😻
OK, I’m just gonna start telling her “It’s science, honey, deal with it!” Keep these facts coming!
Ooh, I’ve got a huge crop of golden beets right now (I’m that person who has them during Covid). I’ll try making a dye with them and will report back!
Oooh! So curious to know what it’ll be like!!!!

You did a great job. I learned a lot about everything I do wrong trying to dye fabrics.
PS gray is beautiful, and so are the colors you came up with. Thank you!
Thank you for watching!
I loooove Baguette! I like this video too. It made me crack up and it really was inspiring. I never thought to do anything like this. Good job!
She is truly the biggest queen diva on her throne.
wow, didnt expect those results, the tumeric turned out beautiful
It’s so pretty 💛💛💛💛

I’d love to experiment with more natural dyes in the future!
Never heard of the turmeric thing. May be back in the day this was done.
I knew you’d have the answer!!!
@@LaughCryDIY because i know u actually asked me 😂
It’s a fantastic result🐨🦘🇦🇺
I was so amazed 💛💛💛
Thanx, your video was soooo much fun to watch! 😍😍
Glad you enjoyed ❤️
Turmeric for the win! The pillows look great. And may I say I love the wallpaper background! Hope your BF recovers quickly.

Healthy pillows
Thank you for the episode!!!! Now we all know that jamaica flowers are not for coloring clothes!!!! Love your kitty cat!!!!
Somebody had to find out the hard way 😂 Maybe I can still dye my cat’s fur though.
Hahahah this is how it goes sometimes!!!! The turmeric did a gorgeous color!!! You didn’t fail!!! You learned….
I will say that was a win, and I would do it again!
I love you! ...so they don't leave like your father...how true!!!
😂 Gotta keep it real ❤️
Love your channel!
Aw, thank you for watching!
Baby baguette 🥺
I knowwww 😭
@@LaughCryDIY I showed my boyfriend her and he called her David Baguetta 😂❤️
@@branwhen hahaha. Wow. Renaming her.
I'm such a hibiscus tea junkie that I wanted nothing more than to chug that entire pot of "dye" the entire time I was watching this 🤣
Glad I have a fellow one. My aunt asked how on earth I had a whole bag of that just handy. 😂
That gave me the best laugh I've had in ages. The disappointment when it turned out underpants grey. LOL 🤣🤣 the yellow was pretty though. Do they smell of turmeric?
Haha. The devastation of that grey will never be lived down. Shockingly, they didn’t smell at all!
I like the gold pillows! And I’m suddenly hungry for curry…
😂 the color really is to dye for 😉
Still great colors though! Tumeric stains/dyes beautifully. I got such anxiety watching you ring them out with no gloves lol.
I did realize that after 😂 Luckily, they didn’t stain too much.
It’s perfect! I love the color, maybe next time try curry powder….who knows lol
I bet that would create a nice deep color.
