  • This song is one of my favorite and one of the reasons why I bought a L100 Hammond.
There is so much drawbars and presets changing which make it impossible to play without an original L-100 Hammond.
When Ant left the band they never played this again, like most of Trespass songs.
As a consequence, the only good audio source for the live version is the Live at BBC (1970), and the only video footage we have is from the Atomic Sunrise Festival at the Roundhouse (1970) but without any sound, there is only a very small part currently avaible on the internet.
Back in 1970, Tony didn't have any Piano or Electric piano on stage, so the Piano part of Looking for someone was not played.
Even if Tony bought his MK2 Mellotron in 1971, he still used one in 1970.

A full cover of the keyboard parts played by Tony Banks on Looking For Someone as performed by Genesis during the 1970 Live At BBC.
Played with a late 60's original Hammond L-100 series organ (L162S) and Mellotron M400.
    Both through Leslie speaker.

    Other :
Due to the camera angle used, you can't see the mellotron at the end, but it's exactly the same chords as played on the Hammond.

Great attention to detail by replicating all the organ tone changes.

I'm really impressed how you nailed this song. And even more impressed of the full use of a Hammond spinet made by Mr Banks. Genius. Pure Genius!

I was a bit scared about doing Trespass because not so much people like it. But it's my favorite so I'll do the whole!

Sounds fantastic! I also have an L100 that I picked up, but no Leslie yet. Which model Leslie are you using here?! Cuz man, that tone is sweet!

Well my Hammond has been heavily modified, and has a jack output.
This jack output goes directly to my computer and to fl studio, then I can apply any effects I want on it, and can record perfectly

    Excellent job!
Could you please explain the various settings, so that the ones out there not lucky enough to own a Hammond can try to reproduce the sounds on a VST?

At some point could you please do your own special way from wind and wuthering? It's my nana and grandads song, they've been married for 40+ years and my grandad is a die hard genesis fan, it would mean alot, thanks

It's not on my plan since I dont play these years, but if you send me a private message, I could try to do it for you on private, I just won't upload it on my channel :)

Great cover! Do you mind if I ask how you are connecting multiple instruments to the Leslie speaker?

    • @MathGsr

My Hammond is highly modified, there is a jack output linked to my computer and to my DAW.
It allows me to record perfectly and to add lot of effects directly.
I did the same for the mellotron

@@MsWindowsExperience well you'll probably never watch my videos anymore after that, but the lamb is by far my least favorite.. 😅
But I do really love Riding the scree or Slippermen but I need a RMI Electra Piano to play it and I don't own one.
My keyboard rig is the 1973 so I keep on these years and early
