Burson Soloist 3gt is pretty solid with the 1266 phi tc and can be had about the same price as this. Got mine used off headfi for 1800. Tried rolling op amps and it’s great. The mids can be helped quite a bit with the supercharger and sparkos op amps.
I believe, from personal experience, that for whoever owns dozens of headphones, there is nothing better than this. It's a true kamaleon that powers everthing and can compensate for shortcomings of some models. For example my HD800S never sounded better than with xBass engaged (i also use some Xspace, but that's more a matter of taste because the HD800S soundstage doesn't really need help....). And, with that said, with my HE1000 Stealth I just use solid state mode and no adfitional tweaks: it is just perfect that way.
For Susvara: Please compare this amp to the ENLEUM 23 R, also very compact but has amazing imaging, wide sound stage and impactful bass and sub base with an eerie totally silent background as if notes were floating in space and the headphones feel like they disappear at times like near field speakers. Much more expensive though. The other amp I wish I could audition with Suvara is the Transformatics Primavera.

I have realized like you that tonality is much more important to me than reselution. I'm really considering the signature now! The thing that impressed me the most is that you think it sounds better (tonally) that the wa33.

My headphone selection is limited and not on your level of ownership (mine seem infantile in comparison lol) but I am very satisfied with them. I wanted a versatile amp to drive my HifiMan Arya Stealth, Focal Clears, and Denon AH-D9200. I had a more focused question as to your comments regarding the Utopia. I was curious if you felt that the Tube or Tube + settings were the best match for them. I’ve heard many individuals comment that the sharpness of the treble, and also the more metallic timbre of the treble - with Focal’s lineup - is somewhat corrected for via pairing them with a tube amp (of course there is tremendous variability with tube amps). That’s at least what I was hoping for as well with the tube setting of the iFi Signature Pro. Just wanted you to perhaps take another listen with the Utopia to see where your preferences would sit with this amp . Tube setting or Tube +, or neither if you still feel this amp pairs poorly with any of the Focals.

Damn. I was looking at this for the Susvara as well. I ended up getting the Ferrum stack. Does the Ican have a wider soundstage? Are both these amps comparable? Hmmmm
What I *really* like with this amp is the fact that you can switch between 4 different inputs. No other amp I have seen gives you the option to do that. And that to me is a sin. You should have the option to AB and not have to buy some bloody nobsound piece of kit just to do that.

This is exactly what I needed. I want either the TC for Sus, and I am happy the ican runs it no problem.

Price wise they are in very different categories or close where you’re at? The Enleum R23 costs 2.8 times more than the Pro iCAN Signature where I am.
