I don't find them to be heavy at all. I'm 6'4 250 so maybe that helps. They could make the straps a lil longer. I may get the pro now though. I have the player iv.
I have a 6-way Player II and my clubs still stick. Not a huge issue for me, but idk if the issue is truly avoidable. I've had 14-way bags before and similar problem. I ordered a player IV pro in a 14-way and am looking forward to the new bottom to see if that helps mitigate the problem at all. I play standard grips with Arccos sensors.
I mean, I think it'd be fine for a hot weather place, but it's probably not the absolute best choice. Part of the reason I like it is because the synthetic leather is more water resistant than a regular canvas bag. But it'll be heavier, and likely a bit hotter in real hot weather. If you want a Vessel bag and are in hot conditions, I'd go for the DXR version of this bag.
I have the P3, and the microfiber slots and sleeves pluck my Arccos sensors off my clubs occasionally, and fight to give them back. I’d appreciate the less ‘sticky’ materials there. FWIW
Ah good to know! I currently have the Arccos grips on, but hadnt noticed that issue when I had the sensors on previously. Will keep it in mind, and update the written review accordingly.
@@breakingeighty I also have a PIII, and my clubs get stuck every round. Maybe it has to do with the stickier grips I use, usually Iomic or Star, but at least 2-3 times a round, I have trouble getting clubs out, and getting them back in. Absolutely love the bag, though. 14 way, btw. I think most people that have sticking issues are using the 14 way.
absolutely love your reviews ! is it possible to do a long term review? am looking to purchase one myself bit i am afraid of the pvc leather flaking over time. thanks once again !
@@davidbrady1551 Both definitely look premium, so it depends a little bit on personal preference. The diamond stitch pattern on the DXR looks really nice, and I like the pop of color on the red carbon fiber stands. But once again, I'd prob give edge to the leather personally. I think especially with the Pro, the pebbled texture looks nice, and I've always liked the grey colorway. Some of the brighter colored or more branded options i don't like, but if you're comparing a neutral iv pro to the black DXR, I'd go leather.
I have the Vessel Lux XV Cart bag and I love it. I use a push cart 40+ rounds a year and even though it's a couple pounds heavier than my previous bag, the extra features and upgraded materials make it worth it.
I personally prefer the 6 way. It is larger on the Pro models compared to the regular Player IV. I'm personally just not organized enough to always put the clubs back in their proper spot in the 14 way. IT also adds a little bit of weight to an already heavy-ish bag. But it really comes down to personal preference on this.
Just received mine today.I'ts a beautiful looking bag and well made but if you carry this for more than nine holes, it's too heavy. Bag is 1 inch too short. If you have any clubs over standard length, look elsewhere. Old school rain cover takes up too much room in the large pocket.
Great review and comparison to help me make my decision. I just bought the limited edition Player 4 using your link and Vessel’s 20% discount Black Friday code.
@mike, I have the player 2 & 3 bags, and I use both on a cart all the time. the Player 2 has a vlcro strap to keep the legs in place, and the Player 3 has an elsticated strap to hold the straps in place. I am assuming the Player 4 has similar
Oh interesting. I played over 100 rounds with the III and didnt have any of that - mine has held up really well. They included it on on the Player IV Pro, so I think that was the main reason - so that they'd be able to sell another higher priced model.
@@breakingeighty - Yea I dunno. I can email you a picture if your curious. It's really noticeable on the back pad and the straps...not so much on the dividers.
First I'd like to say great vid. Funny thing as I was watching I was looking for answers in my head then boom you covered. Great Vid. Where's the link to purchase so you get paid?
My friend has the player 4 pro legends edition. Great bag, but last week, his clubs got stuck in and took a lot of effort to get his irons out. All I could do was laugh alittle, with a sarcastic "nice bag". That being said my next bag will definatly be a vessel, probably a cart bag.
If I’m remembering correctly Titleist calls numbers their bag based on club dividers. Vessel numbers their based based on the generation. Similar but still massively different naming structure.
Cooler liners are a waste of space and weight. They don’t keep your drinks cool - better off using a thermal water bottle if you want to keep something cool (or hot). The rush of all bag makers to include this feature is herd mentality. I would love to see some market research on on the value proposition and ratings from people who have tried this. I have tried it, and think it’s junk.
Had the player 3 for the last year. It is really heavy, and their zippers are so so. The large zipper separates from time to time and one of the zippers where I put my balls broke as well. The vessel logo on the straps also broke off. Not impressed.
For people wanting the 14 way divider, I’d steer away to be honest. 6 way is more than enough. The 14 divider wastes so much empty space. Get the 6 and thank me later. I have the player 3 from gfore and the player 4. Love the cooler pocket for cold drinks on the 4 and the extra pockets. Is it worth the upgrade? Not really. Hate the new marketing team trying to separate the player with the player 4 pro now. So cheesy
Yeah I've heard from a few people who don't love the 14 way. I've personally always gone 6 and have loved it, but haven't been hands on with a 14 so cant comment from experience.
I bought one two years ago, and honestly it's not worth it. I love the bags features and functionalury but the quality of material is sub par. Leather is pealing, color discoloration, plastic parts paint rubbing off. I've lost the rubber stand feet twice already.
If you are an avid golfer play 2-3 times a week, these leather bags will not last two years. The synthetic leather peels and scratches easily from everyday use. I've had my Vessel V Plus for 18 months, the storage is amazing but everything is wearing off. The edges are scratching off and leather peeling. Color is fading too from sun UV ray. I don't recommend any of these bags if you want something to last.
I'm not sold on the fake leather material used, reminds me of 'pleather'. I would be most concerned with puncture and general wearing of the materials and I seem to recall users mentioning that these bags will show signs of distress when used with carts.
Mine is pretty well travelled and still looks great. It’s tougher than you’d expect. Think white soles on Allbirds and you’re in the area code. Durability of appearance is absolutely not a reason to pass. PS, it’s white with orange trim.
You will spend 150 every couple years unless you like looking ratty and don't care. By the time you keep replacing the cheaper bag your in the same space price wise
Vessel bags are junk. It's not so much the cheap leather and the $400 price tag as much as it's the non existent customer service on a bag that's marketed as premium. I sent a handful of emails and messages via their website and thus far have had no response from them going on 3 weeks. Add to that the dividers that keep the club shafts separated inside the bag are ripped to shreds after only a few months. The I regret my decision to purchase this bag. I wouldn't recommend vessel bags to anyone
Why does everyone say these bags feel like luxury, when immediately when i first saw one in person i thought it felt like a thin plastic cheap children's rain jacket. Theres no padding backing and just thin cheap feel
Bruh nothing on the market feels as good as this even other bag feels dirt cheap compared to this. I have the g fore daytona which is made by vessel it’s the highest quality bag on the market
Incredibly high quality video, surprised you don't have more subscribers. Exact the info I was looking for.
Love your reviews…I use a ClicGear 3.5 95% of the time so I ordered the new Lux XV 2.0…can’t wait!
Just got the sunday bag in DXR. Absolutely love it. I play 8 clubs in the bag so the Sunday is perfect traveling, walking and riding.
I havent seen one of their Sunday bags, but everyone I've heard from loves them. Same goes for DXR models.
With that being said, it’s by far the best bag on the market.
What do you think about the player 4 pro compared to the Titleist links legend?
I don't find them to be heavy at all. I'm 6'4 250 so maybe that helps. They could make the straps a lil longer. I may get the pro now though. I have the player iv.

Any thoughts on ghost good bags?
Would love to see a review on the Ghost bag thats a similar quality and price point
I agree I’m contemplating getting a 14 way when they are in stock again.
Player 5 is just out now (but out of stock already as of now) - and it has the hidden sleeve for the cart strap.

do Jumbo tour wraps or CP2 fit in the normal 4 version?

I’m looking to get one, do you know if it fits on the BagBoy Quad push cart? I have noticed titleist doesn’t fit.
The player 3 fits very well on the Bag Boy Quad XL, can't speak to the player 4!
@mpud1335, I can confirm the player 3 sits on perfectly as someone has already said. would assume the player 4 would be okay also.
I have the same Vessel 3 bag. My microfiber all faded and discolored and I take very good care of it. Perhaps that's why they changed the material???
