In South India Bridegroom and Bride or the guests are not allowed to vivaha vedika with shoes or sandals as it is a holy place . First we invite 8 dikpaala(8 directions) and pancha bhutaas ( 5 nature elements) ishtadevata and other Gods and start the wedding process. The vedic mantras mix in air and form a particular strong field which is invisible that helps to give bonding and positive energy to them. If we play movie songs as background it disturbs the energy field and no result. If they want to enjoy they can prepare get together party after few days of wedding. I think some foreigners are better than Indians who are doing Vedic wedding 8n completely traditional way. No movies songs or no dramatization.
