Star Wars Trading Post needs to go!!! Let's get real. Disney needs to either bring back Rain Forest Cafe which I don't think they will or tear the building down and build another great restaurant that is similar. DownTown Disney needs more restaurant choices. I was also surprised that Disney built Splitsville. Why would anybody want to spend their time bowling when you have Disneyland just steps away🙄🙄
Me and my whole family would go to Rainforest Cafe for dinner. The night before we would start our 3 day Disneyland and Disney Cal Trip. And now we can't 😢 We all want Rainforest Cafe to come back.
Splitsville is one of the best restaurants in downtown Disney in my opinion. Their food is good! However, Black Tap honestly need to go through, not worth it have a place in downtown Disney.

I have a lunch reservation for Tortilla Jo's this month. They need to bring back Rainforest. As for Earl I'm guessing they might put it in Tortilla Jo's or I wonder if they would put it in ESPN Zone?
I think the building you’re calling the parkside market is actually the retail portion and the parkside market will be a building to the left of that, if you look in the concept art behind the parkside market you can see the three vertical strips that hang on the front of the retail space which will be next door. Go back to the og concept art, there’s two buildings

As much as I love rainforest Cafe because of the theme I don't remember the food being that good and I believe it was a bit on the expensive side. I am not a Star wars fan so I can't say I love the Star wars trading post either. That should definitely be a theme park merchandise store. Stuff that you can't get inside world of Disney that is park exclusive so that you don't have to go into the park to buy all that stuff, which I get is the point but isn't Disney big on merchandise sales? Why not give people the opportunity to come to their property just to buy merchandise without going to the park..... Just a thought 🤷♀️
Rainforest Cafe all day!! Galaxys edge, as dope as it is, is pretty much a shopping mall, so get your stuff there. BUT. If you can't go to Disneyland to do so, then yes, the traders is good to get the starwars stuff. I just think Disney can do better and they totally will in the long run. Just gotta work with what you got until you gotta do what you gotta do for something that makes sense in the long run and for the foreseeable future. Long story short... this ain't it... one day... it will be 😂
No on Rainforest Cafe, there will be enough restaurants. Keep Star Wars Trading Post, especially for those who don’t have access to Galaxy’s Edge. Some people are able to only go to Dowmtown Disney. Yes, there’s Star Wars merch in World of Disney, but not with the Galaxy’s Edge ambience.
Katie I 100% have always wished they’d bring back RFC!!! I don’t care how “old” that restaurant is. It was always apart of my Disney trips. I love trading post, it was well executed as a shop, but just seems unnecessary waste of too much space. Very sad to see Tortilla Joe's leaving...we would make the drive to Anaheim (about 40 mins) just to go there for Ceviche, then hang out around DTD. (Or I would get an order of it to go to bring home after visiting the parks. ) I miss RFC & HOB; I loved the chicken sandwiches from House of Blues. I know it's just down the street now, but it's a hassle to go there for a bite to eat. In my opinion, DTD needs a themed restaurant like RFC that kids enjoy and has a reasonably priced menu. I agree, no interest in Splitsville, it's not a draw with their over priced menu. I am not a fan of having an overpriced Mexican food restaurant in there now either...living in SoCal, there are too many other Mexican food options that are reasonably priced. Have to say, I am excited for Porto's though!!!
Rain Forest Cafe is cool. But if we are going Star Wars, I would LOVE a restaurant like Olgas- but more of a sit down restaurant with characters. Likely in Galaxy's Edge.
Im Nor Cal girl, so dont get down to Dland as often BUT... I thought the trading post was a temp situation due to the pandemic. Bring back Rain Forest Cafe (chant) OR the sister restaurant in WDW TREX! Happy the Earl is staying, as many times as they have been moved around.

I don't mind the Star Wars store being there. It's like a piece of Galaxy's Edge in Downtown Disney. But it does feel like a temporary thing that could be replaced by something else. As far as the Rainforest Cafe coming back. I don't see it happening. I went to a Rainforest Cafe recently and it felt like a former glory of what it used to be.

Rainforest cafe or T-rex Cafe! Or, hear me out- rotating character dine! I'm thinking similar vibe as Napa Rose Princess breakfast but with dine with star wars, Avengers, and other themes. I loved the princess breakfast but it would be amazing to dine with other characters/heros! Or a dinner theater would be awesome!

The environment was fun for a bit, but the food wasn't anything special. I know they're bringing portos but would love if they brought in another special coffee place that isn't starbucks.

thanks for the dtd update! always love your disney-focused content. i definitely don’t think they should reopen rainforest cafe. the theming is cheesy and the food is mediocre at best. i would love if they move both disney dress shop and disney home into that larger space (combined or separated) and move star wars trading post into one of the smaller spaces. that also means the building would need a whole new look, but that’s not a bad thing imo. in the old espn building, they should open something family/kid focused similar to a dave and busters but disney themed!! that way, there’s a place for families to have fun outside the parks. it would, as you said, keep hotel guests in the disney bubble and pull locals in as well.

splitsville is delicious portions are huge and yes pricey but easily shareable we eat there every time we go
