I hated Jack so much for hurting Jacob, for damaging their work in London that cost them so much to achieve (guys he literally got to control The Rooks around the time he kidnapped Jacob), so yeah the city had fallen to the chaos he created and Evie had to pull through... This is OPINION! No offence intended. Jacob is just as good assassin maybe even better than Evie. The reason people would say that she is better is that she is more mature in the main game, if you haven’t noticed it takes a lot longer for guys to mature and grow up. In the main game however, he is much more lethal than Evie, which is his greatest strength as an assassin. Sure Evie may be very smart in the main game, a lot more than Jacob I admit, but if you listen to the way he speaks, and the actions he makes in order to save lives, you can see he is also very smart but he just wasn’t mature enough to use his wits and therefore was reckless. However 20 years later in Jack the Ripper, if you listen to the first conversation he has about the letter publishing, you can tell he has learned to use his brain a lot more, he is very well matured! People say that he wasn’t strong enough to kill jack and Evie was, that is nonsense! Jacob could have easily killed jack if he was in Evie’s shoes, he was just compromised in his position. If you hear him respond to jacks question at the start, he basically admits that he will sacrifice himself just so the killings will stop for a little while, long enough for his sources to contact Evie in India and put his plan in motion. How smart, mature and brave is that! Jacob also only lost that fight because jack got the drop on him, he planned for it to happen to get Evie’s attention, and he was too emotional to even think about hurting jack because was like a son to him when they met. If the tables were turned around and Evie was the one who stayed in London and Jacob went to India, he would have come back with the new equipment and completed the very thing that Evie did. Also how brave was it that he chose to stay in London at this time of crisis after jack went mental, he even turned the tools against the Assassins for a few years! And yet still Jacob fought against him and his old allies, who they eventually turned their loyalty back to the assassins. He has great character development, I get really annoyed when people say that Jacob is useless against Evie, he turned down the freaking shroud as well! He is a great assassin, the main reason that the Templar’s fell in London, while Evie looked for the shroud. This is my opinion, you can think otherwise but I believe that he is a better assassin than Evie

I feel like there shoulda been more cutscenes between Jacob training jack doesn’t have to be big sequences but maybe small flashbacks work, kinda like a anakin and kenobi typa thing since jack ends up defecting. Many people say that Jacob is immature, but he's not, he's just very cocky and arrogant. In this dlc we see more his father instincts, in fact during the fight whit Jack he wasn't really fighting because he didn't want to hurt his stepson and was trying to reason whit him. A proof that Jacob was mature during the main storyline: he refused the shroud and said that it must not be touched by anyone

Everyone saying Jacob lost an eye. Am I the only one that clearly sees him opening his (extremely swollen) left eye from 8:29 to 8:32 ??? Like I can see the white and color just fine lmao It's just darker because of lighting and it being more squinted. Like think about it... if Jacob really was stabbed in the eye he'd be dead. Or suffer an infection and then die.
If you're referring to the actual fight scene, I was dragging it out so that I could record all the dialogue. As for the rest...well, let's just say that I didn't think very highly of this DLC.
TheDarkelflover If you pay close attention to their fight you will notice various instances where Jacob could’ve used his blade to assassinate Jack, but being his adopted son of sorts he couldn’t bring himself to do it and wanted to take him down and maybe help him but he didn’t want to take his life himself. It’s not the first time this happens in the series. Haytham refused to use the blades on his son and instead tried to choke him until he lost consciousness, a mistake that costed him his life

Jacob (in my opinion)is probably the strongest assassin in the whole of the Assassin's creed franchise. Think about it, Evie got married and went to india to live her life with Henry while Jacob had to stay in London, alone and fixing stuff that happened once Evie left and was only trying to help Jack out UNTIL Jack was like this is all jacobs fault and murdered Jacob
Ezio and Altaïr are canonically the best and have proven it. Jacob is in the upper-tier if physical strength is what your talking about but he isn't top 5. He is definitely a top-tier Master Assassin and likely Mentor though and should not be underestimated. Honestly the reason Jack beat him seems predicated on him being much stronger and Jacob having lost his strength he had in his youth. That said Jacob in his prime is a very lethal opponent and any Assassin should be cautious to engage him in combat.
@@austinkersey2445 i disagree. I personally dont think the frye twins fall in the top tier of assassins. In fact, they are the weakest assassins and its quite simple why that is. First and foremost, due to the control of arms in victorian era both frye twins only received very minimal weapons training and more of a hand to hand combat training. Thats why the only weapons they use are cane swords, brass knuckles, khukris and small revolvers. Those weapons are more suited for street thugs than hardened assassins. Also, the enemies they fought were never properly armed. Pretty much all of em were attackin with small knives or wooden clubs and they had no armor. The assassins from previous games were masters of all weapons and fought a wide range of enemies in urban areas and battlefields who had armor and diverse set of weaponry themselves. There is no way at all thr frye twins could be anywhere near the level of a ezio, altair, connor or an edward kenway. These two are basically just street thugs with hidden blades
@@rishikeshbalakrishnan8790 I never said they were the best. I was referring to them being top-tier. They aren't the greatest, but they're very good. They are extremely capable physical combatants, as both were known boxers and martial artists. Both of they're stealth skills were quite honed, especially in Evie's case, as they constantly infiltrated and exiltrated areas without serious issue. Jacob made a gang and managed it (as much of a feat as remaking a Brotherhood and retaking Rome), while Evie was a noted scholar. As for their gear, it's less a matter of it being lesser, and more about the times. They wanted weapons they could conceal and whip out when needed. Evie even went on to master chakram (Indian discs of death) and her and Jacob became a master of other martial arts (in all likelihood). Jacob (by the time of the Jack the Ripper) was a Mentor, and it seems a fairly capable one. Jack the Ripper just beat him through monstrous physical strength, and Jacob's aging body not quite being what it was. He just lost his strength, and seems to attempt to heighten his abilities by improving other attributes. The Frye twins are extremely capable in their own right, and should not be underestimated. I would argue them being more effective than at least Edward Kenway, especially as a unit. First of all, Edward pretty much flew by the seat of his pants when it came to a lot of things. He tended to get himself in a situation before he thought up a way out. The Frye twins both consistently make plans before doing nearly anything business-related. Secondly, Edward uses dual-swords. It seems cool, but it isn't the most practical thing in the world, and he would be better off with one. However, he was proficient (not great) with various weapons. The Frye twins seem a bit more focused and efficient with the design of their skillset. Very much a, "take the best and discard the rest" style of combat. They don't really have time to be learning extracurricular skills so they use only what is necessary. Thirdly, the forces they were fighting were just as, if not better-armed than Edwards's threats. Think about it, the head Blighters that ran the burrows were all trained by Maxwell Roth (a noted acrobat, knife-handler, and general weapons maniac) in acrobatics, combat, and firearm handling. Taking all of them down is a moderately noteworthy feat for an Assassin as young as them. The Blighters on the whole were also moderately capable, no more or less than most guards in later AC games. The Templars themselves were well-trained and groomed. Remember this is Victorian England and a lot of nobles (according to the games) were Templars. Nobles (the men) were all somwhat taught by their families and certain servants in combat. All of these threats had access to: knives, cane-swords, revolvers, and lever-action rifles. Their ranged weaponry definitely puts them ahead of Edward and Conner's threats, which were smoothbore muskets. These don't have the range or precision of a revolver or lever-action. Also, unlike the Spanish Templars of the Caribbean, the British Rite of the Templars was a dominant force in England for two centuries before the Frye's took them out. It was a well-oiled machine, and it ran all of England before the Frye twins got there. Henry Greene was the only Assassin in all of London before the Frye's got there, because the Assassin's had been completely hunted down or pushed out. I'm not saying they're the best-of-the best, but they're definitely in the upper echelons of the Order as a whole. I'm not saying that Edward sucks, but either twin is pretty solidly his better in regards to combat and stealth. They're just a more focused and lethal package than Edward. I mean, not to speak ill of the dead, but he canonically died at an earlier age than Jacob when he fought Jack. And he died fighting two Templar assassins, and they weren't even important enough to name. Sure they set the mansion on fire and Edward was trying to save Haytham, but I'm pretty confident Evie or Jacob could handle that, older though they may be. I wouldn't even attempt an argument at them being better than Ezio or Altaïr, because that wouldn't be true. Both of them represent the best of the Assassins and serve as the two most important figures in it's history. All of that said, I do love them all and they're all cool in their own ways.
i remember ezio in revelations when he was like in 50s but dominated and stood by himself in the trailer, he would have killed all of those if he didnt saw altair

Many people say that Jacob is immature, but he's not, he's just very cocky and arrogant. In this dlc we see more his father instincts, in fact during the fight whit Jack he wasn't really fighting because he didn't want to hurt his stepson and was trying to reason whit him.
A proof that Jacob was mature during the main storyline: he refused the shroud and said that it must not be touched by anyone

They were both captured on a PS4 shortly after release. I think that maybe it looks better because it's darker and there are more fog/blurring effects.
Everyone saying Jacob lost an eye. Am I the only one that clearly sees him opening his (extremely swollen) left eye from 8:29 to 8:32 ??? Like I can see the white and color just fine lmao It's just darker because of lighting and it being more squinted. Like think about it... if Jacob really was stabbed in the eye he'd be dead. Or suffer an infection and then die.

TheDarkelflover If you pay close attention to their fight you will notice various instances where Jacob could’ve used his blade to assassinate Jack, but being his adopted son of sorts he couldn’t bring himself to do it and wanted to take him down and maybe help him but he didn’t want to take his life himself.
It’s not the first time this happens in the series. Haytham refused to use the blades on his son and instead tried to choke him until he lost consciousness, a mistake that costed him his life

Jacob (in my opinion)is probably the strongest assassin in the whole of the Assassin's creed franchise. Think about it, Evie got married and went to india to live her life with Henry while Jacob had to stay in London, alone and fixing stuff that happened once Evie left and was only trying to help Jack out UNTIL Jack was like this is all jacobs fault and murdered Jacob
Ezio and Altaïr are canonically the best and have proven it. Jacob is in the upper-tier if physical strength is what your talking about but he isn't top 5. He is definitely a top-tier Master Assassin and likely Mentor though and should not be underestimated. Honestly the reason Jack beat him seems predicated on him being much stronger and Jacob having lost his strength he had in his youth. That said Jacob in his prime is a very lethal opponent and any Assassin should be cautious to engage him in combat.

@@austinkersey2445 i disagree. I personally dont think the frye twins fall in the top tier of assassins. In fact, they are the weakest assassins and its quite simple why that is. First and foremost, due to the control of arms in victorian era both frye twins only received very minimal weapons training and more of a hand to hand combat training. Thats why the only weapons they use are cane swords, brass knuckles, khukris and small revolvers. Those weapons are more suited for street thugs than hardened assassins. Also, the enemies they fought were never properly armed. Pretty much all of em were attackin with small knives or wooden clubs and they had no armor.
The assassins from previous games were masters of all weapons and fought a wide range of enemies in urban areas and battlefields who had armor and diverse set of weaponry themselves. There is no way at all thr frye twins could be anywhere near the level of a ezio, altair, connor or an edward kenway. These two are basically just street thugs with hidden blades
@@rishikeshbalakrishnan8790 I never said they were the best. I was referring to them being top-tier. They aren't the greatest, but they're very good. They are extremely capable physical combatants, as both were known boxers and martial artists. Both of they're stealth skills were quite honed, especially in Evie's case, as they constantly infiltrated and exiltrated areas without serious issue. Jacob made a gang and managed it (as much of a feat as remaking a Brotherhood and retaking Rome), while Evie was a noted scholar.
As for their gear, it's less a matter of it being lesser, and more about the times. They wanted weapons they could conceal and whip out when needed. Evie even went on to master chakram (Indian discs of death) and her and Jacob became a master of other martial arts (in all likelihood). Jacob (by the time of the Jack the Ripper) was a Mentor, and it seems a fairly capable one. Jack the Ripper just beat him through monstrous physical strength, and Jacob's aging body not quite being what it was. He just lost his strength, and seems to attempt to heighten his abilities by improving other attributes. The Frye twins are extremely capable in their own right, and should not be underestimated.
I would argue them being more effective than at least Edward Kenway, especially as a unit. First of all, Edward pretty much flew by the seat of his pants when it came to a lot of things. He tended to get himself in a situation before he thought up a way out. The Frye twins both consistently make plans before doing nearly anything business-related. Secondly, Edward uses dual-swords. It seems cool, but it isn't the most practical thing in the world, and he would be better off with one. However, he was proficient (not great) with various weapons. The Frye twins seem a bit more focused and efficient with the design of their skillset. Very much a, "take the best and discard the rest" style of combat. They don't really have time to be learning extracurricular skills so they use only what is necessary. Thirdly, the forces they were fighting were just as, if not better-armed than Edwards's threats. Think about it, the head Blighters that ran the burrows were all trained by Maxwell Roth (a noted acrobat, knife-handler, and general weapons maniac) in acrobatics, combat, and firearm handling. Taking all of them down is a moderately noteworthy feat for an Assassin as young as them. The Blighters on the whole were also moderately capable, no more or less than most guards in later AC games. The Templars themselves were well-trained and groomed. Remember this is Victorian England and a lot of nobles (according to the games) were Templars. Nobles (the men) were all somwhat taught by their families and certain servants in combat. All of these threats had access to: knives, cane-swords, revolvers, and lever-action rifles. Their ranged weaponry definitely puts them ahead of Edward and Conner's threats, which were smoothbore muskets. These don't have the range or precision of a revolver or lever-action. Also, unlike the Spanish Templars of the Caribbean, the British Rite of the Templars was a dominant force in England for two centuries before the Frye's took them out. It was a well-oiled machine, and it ran all of England before the Frye twins got there. Henry Greene was the only Assassin in all of London before the Frye's got there, because the Assassin's had been completely hunted down or pushed out. I'm not saying they're the best-of-the best, but they're definitely in the upper echelons of the Order as a whole. I'm not saying that Edward sucks, but either twin is pretty solidly his better in regards to combat and stealth. They're just a more focused and lethal package than Edward. I mean, not to speak ill of the dead, but he canonically died at an earlier age than Jacob when he fought Jack. And he died fighting two Templar assassins, and they weren't even important enough to name. Sure they set the mansion on fire and Edward was trying to save Haytham, but I'm pretty confident Evie or Jacob could handle that, older though they may be. I wouldn't even attempt an argument at them being better than Ezio or Altaïr, because that wouldn't be true. Both of them represent the best of the Assassins and serve as the two most important figures in it's history. All of that said, I do love them all and they're all cool in their own ways.
