- This is a walking tour in Omis, Croatia. Going through the Old Town, the beaches along it and a boat trip along the canyon. Omis is a town and municipality located on the Adriatic coast of Croatia. It is situated in the Split-Dalmatia County, approximately 25 kilometers southeast of the city of Split. Omis is nestled at the mouth of the Cetina River and surrounded by stunning natural landscapes, including mountains, canyons, and beautiful beaches.
The town has a population of around 14,000 people and is known for its rich history, cultural heritage, and outdoor recreational opportunities. Omis has a long and eventful past, dating back to ancient times. It was originally settled by the Illyrians and later became an important Roman settlement known as Oneum. Throughout history, Omis was ruled by various powers, including the Venetians, the Ottoman Empire, and the Austro-Hungarian Empire, which have all left their mark on the town's architecture and cultural heritage.

Ah, I believed that the motorway bridge over the Cetina had been completed, but I see I was wrong. The traffic still goes through Omis itself. The zipline over the river looks fun ...
