The chemistry boils in "Empire Strikes Back", whereas in "Attack of the Clones" it just seems forced...
I think the love theme that John Williams wrote for Attack of the Clones is awesome and on par with this one, but yeah... the plot is forced, as you said.
I was speaking of the music, particularly the love theme for Attack of the Clones, which I like, in spite of the movie's rather thin plot and premise for a romance. John Williams is a much better composer than George Lucas is a writer. And Hayden Christensen and Natalie Portman are also much more talented than their roles in the prequel trilogy make it appear.
The problem was Lucas, sadly. He was basically in a position where he could do no wrong and had no impetus to do as high quality stuff as in the past.
That's because Anakin was being a damn creeper.

This theme and Luke & Leia from Return of the Jedi is just breathtaking. Takes me right back to the 80's and how special the films were to me. The newer love theme from Attack isn't as poignant to me, but the Attack of the Fates is absolutely sensational and up there with the originals.

Episode VII is out. We can now safely conclude that Episode V is still the best Star Wars movie.

Because John Williams composes all of the music in Star Wars according to themes. Which he re visits each time. Luke and Leia's song are derived from the force theme. So are Rey's and Kylo's. And Anakin's and Padme.

It's just the combination of the two notes and the mallet instrument in the background that makes your brain think of the theme. It's no where near a full musical idea.
0-0:15 reminds me of the downfall of Anakin Skywalker...from his innocent childhood on tatooine, to his rule as the emperor's pawn. I always wonder if the pain of losing padme made him not care anymore (hence him going to the dark side). Yet we see that even the villain that appears to be the worst can be redeemed.

I didn't hate Anakin in the prequels. To me, he was exactly how I would imagine a younger Darth Vader would be. And he seemed like someone who had "actually endured severe emotional trauma" in the prequels, to me. But I guess I'm in the minority there.
