    The way Seagull put it was perfect, it seems like based on how he said there's double/triple the amount of good players & teams, it's just a matter of time until an all-star Korean team rises out of the ashes to stomp the entire world at OW
    I wish we could just clone Seagull and have 6 Seagull's fight against this future all-star Korean team lol

      Seagull is really about an average skilled pro player, like if you were to pool all of the pro players in NA, he would be around average, maybe a bit above the average.

      seagull is flex player in pro scene means he can play any role nicely, his genji is top tier tho.. many good player in overwatch overall but many of them not going pro, skill wise there's many player better than seagull in talent pool

    Seagull absolutely NAILED IT!
    This guy is Paying Attention to what's going on in All 3 scenes.
    He is Very popular in Korea because they recognize his talent.
    Can you imagine him in a team like Lunatic Hai or KongDoo Uncia?
    His Genji would shine like a blazing star if he had Miro watching his back, and Ryujehong sniping heals left, right and center.
    As he said, it won't be long before the Koreans literally get a team made up purely of star players and band them into an unstoppable machine.

      D Mar list me your ultimate team? Who's the 6 players you would have? Seagull, iddqd, Ryujehong, miro. Would be a good start for my team.

    • @kadeholman414

      Brother Faisal if I were to pick two dps, I'd do surefour and shadowburn

    • @dmar3651
      @dmar3651 7 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Brother Faisal Seagull, iddqd (or Surefour/Shadowburn), Ryujehong, Miro, Grego and Panker would be my picks for a solid team.
      You would have just about everything covered.
      I refuse to put in any EnVyUs member as their team is the best in the world at the moment, and I'd rather think of a comp that would Best Challenge them.
      Seagull is SO versatile in his hero pool, from dps to tanks, so he'd be the flex player.
      iddqd would be the hit scan, and he is a great hit scan, alternative would also be Tviq, another great hit scan.
      Grego isn't seen much these days, but memory serves, he was a damn good Lucio player.
      Ryujehong, is simply the ONLY Ana that is better than Chipshajen.....by a slim margin, but he is still better.
      Miro has more than just skill. He GAME Sense and knowing when to go in and be a nuisance vs. when to fight it all out is pure magic, he would protect Seagull Genji as he ventures into the back line, or be the perfect partner for Seagull's Zarya, along with Panker.

    • @artmanrom
      @artmanrom 7 ปีที่แล้ว +42

      :) Because he's the most objective, and that's his greatest strength, all of the others have to great egos and are too subjectives and that theirs greatest weakness. Seagull also will make a great coach after he'll grow to older for the pro scene and will not have fast enough reflexes anymore. It would be so great if he'll be starting to write a book series about gaming, all of them will be international bestsellers.

  • @chrysallisss
    @chrysallisss 7 ปีที่แล้ว +129

    Seagull is definitely correct. He's not saying it just to say "oh Koreans are good" but to actually make a valid point about how underrated Koreans are, and he backs it up with facts and experience, his own personal experience. I don't know about the others, maybe they don't have as much experience playing against other Koreans as Seagull does, such as with tournaments and competitions, well as far as I know Cloud9 and FaZe, I'm not sure about the others, but yeah, Seagull is so right. I would LOVE to see a huge tournament where all the regions are mixed, and I'm talking professionally with the pro teams, not like the Overwatch World Cup.

    • @SuzakuX
      @SuzakuX 7 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      There's been a big misconception that Korean don't play FPS games because they don't have a big presence in popular Western FPS games like CS:GO, but the reality is that Sudden Attack, a F2P Korean clone of Counterstrike that predates GO, is immensely popular there.
      On top of that, Overwatch has been narrowly beating out LoL as the most-played game in PC Bangs in Korea almost from the time it launched, with only a few minor dips, which means loads of people are putting in a lot of hours, cultivating a lot of talent.

    • @lastaeon174
      @lastaeon174 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Also, I think that the Koreans values teamwork over individual skill, that's why they don't really prefer CS:GO, but overwatch with much more team work involved you could almost call it a MOBA.

      Organizations like Cloud9 and Faze are from NA, but they hire players from outside of NA for whatever reason. So technically, they are from EU, but they play IN NA, so they are NA players.

    Came down to the comment section to talk about Seagull's speaking patterns and his knowledge but everyone already said it. Basically he's very articulate and composed without being particularly subjective. I think that all of the players had good points, however seagull was clearly the most knowledgeable. An interesting video to be sure hearing the different players' thoughts makes me excited for the next big tournament featuring teams from all three regions.

  • @tipidrinks9405
    @tipidrinks9405 7 ปีที่แล้ว +73

    After watching this... Im fucking terrified of Korea now. It seems Seagull is the only one paying attention out of NA and EU right now, and when that korean all star team gets assembled, which it will, mostly likely soon, NA and EU isn't going to be prepared. I think that if the NA and EU dont get their shit together soon and start paying attention, we are going to see Overwatch become another Korean dominated game.
    This is just a little extra bit I wanted to get out, but this video is a reminder of how much it sucks that Seagull who really seems to have a lot of potential because hes so open minded, is on NRG, which is while not a terrible team, it is definitely not good enough for Seagull to really shine.

    Korean teams come together to form teams, whereas western teams look upon a skilled individual and hope to build upon that one player. What team envyus does so well is that they achieve both goals in developing good teamwork and possess great individual skill. They might have gotten a little lucky with how well Harryhook is playing offensive heroes at the moment, but I'm sure they'll only improve upon their success in the future if can attain both fundamental assets.

    "I'm at MLG, NA only tournament where are the euro teams?" 12 out of the possible 24 players in the semi finals at MLG are from EU and the winner was 5/6 EU. Any smart EU team would move to NA for more money/sponsors Blizz is obviously going to favor the NA OW league too.
    Also pretty sure the BR teams in CSGO aren't considered NA by the fans even though they compete and live there.

      the difference in ability between NA and EU teams when being discussed isnt about origin, its about where they scrim and queue. an NA team made up of EU players is still considered NA because they practice in NA, scrim with NA teams and generally have the skillset, approach, and mindset that NA players have out of necessity to match the peers they are competing with.

    Korean players are starting to achieve better aim skills now, and EU/NA teams are starting to improve on ult management and combos.
    Mendokusaii made a good point about finding that middle ground, and pro teams are building themselves around that.

    I agree with Seagull, I think the problem NA and EU have is there isn't enough going on to pull the players together at the amateur competitive level. There aren't many small town gatherings or local group lanning that goes on compared to the amount that you see from Korea. It's impacting the potential roster that EU and NA have. They just aren't aware of it yet.

      Matt Roche it's probably the stigma surrounding video games in the US. If you're in the US and you're trying to play competitive esports as opposed to say going to university, it can be somewhat looked down upon or even shunned. As opposed to Korea where you're a professional athlete and everyone strives to be better than the other. This competitive and prideful perspective is common in Asian culture.

    I really like seagull's one. He really respected Korean players, and he did well on his investigation. Korea must be good..You know, we have the fastest ping in the world, and there are PC Bang (internet cafe) in the whole region - it makes to have many effect on students. It's like early education. In conclusion, yeah, the teenagers in each country have their own culture, and Korean teens have a deep culture to play computer games in PC Bang.(bang means room) And it leads to excavating many talented players.

    The same thing happened in LoL. Back in season 2, we saw M5 dominate every team all year and everyone underestimated the koreans with that "EU/NA rules" attitude . In the world cup the koreans beat them easily and from then on they only got better. I'm sure that's gonna be overwatch's future.

    the only person worth listening to here is seagull... The rest of the bunch is kinda like the league of legends scene used to be... "OOH KOREANS, DO THEY EVEN EXIST BRO?" and now in league of legends the same korean team have won 3, up to win their 4th world championship. the only person who see this coming is seagull, the other people sounds rather ignorant. But ignorance is a trait every NA and EU professional or gamer in general have... so yeah, i cant wait for the koreans to rise and shit on us! #GO KOREA! :D

    NA has always had the best individually skilled FPS players, check the stats. NA FPS players also don't play OW as much as Koreans, they play Halo/CS/CoD. There's reasons why NA FPS professionals and even Semi-Pro FPS players can switch to any other FPS game and dominate.

  • @christiankoo1864

    Seagulls got it! It's not that Korean players are better, they're not, but it's the number of people playing it seriously.
    The NA and EU teams constantly swap players with each other and they are composed of multiple countries within two regions. And yet they are don't have that many teams.
    The Korea region is composed of ONE country but the number of players playing it professionally is mind boggling. They have enough teams to run numerous tourneys in just one region. Just on pure mathematics, they would eventually surpass other regions purely on having such a big talented pool of players. And that doesn't count the years of experience that region has on training pro-teams.
    As a side note, Seagull is really eloquent in explaining these things, he should consider doing analysis on tourneys he's not competing in.
