Ek rotary knob hai jisko ham ghumate hai and it has bahut levels jo ek bahut acchi cheeze lagi mujhe ye bahut easy controls hai😄. Sunblind I hope future facelift me thoda thick karde Hamne jab new car li thi MG Astor to hmare car me after 70km of driving ek sound issue aane lage the jaise kuch rubber ka part dheela hoke wind se phat phat kar raha ho. Hame iss baat ka pata nahi chala aur hamne socha gaadi ka koi rubber ka part kharab ho gaya. To ham log gaadi dikhane gaye and 1st servicing karai. I don't know how but unlogon ne ek baar me hi pakad liya ki sunroof related problem hai and they repaired it on first service. Ye sunroof ka rubber isliye kharab hua kyuki hamne heavy weighted object daaldia tha. Me MG ke service center personnel se bahut khush hu. They are treating customers rightly👍

Hi Praksh, Your videos are very helpful, I am also planning to buy MG Astor but bit confused between Smart and Sharp variant(Sharp only for sunroof). my kid is demanding for sunroof, I am okay with it but sometimes I wonder it should not create any issue In long run let's say for 10-12 years. hence I am worried about below points regardingSunroof, if I choose to go for Sharp- 1. will it leaks in raining or heavy rain 2. how it sounds in rain 3. is there any issue in summer season due to temp rise above 40 degrees 4. Will there any issue due to temp. difference outside and inside the car in summer 5. worried about it's regular cleaning, recurring maintenance and cost etc. I am asking so many questions bcz u r using Astor since long and u have seen all seasons and your videos deliver valuable information so wanted to know your experience and inputs.
Sure brother will definitely reply to you! No doubt sharp is going to be more fun! The panaramic sunroof definitely changes the way our cabin looks and feel! These sunroofs are not new in the market ! Earlier they were an expensive technology now they have come down a little! 1. No the sunroof will not leak in any condition! 2. Sounds - interesting questions - water on a tin is louder than water falling on glass top! So i would say little less but the feel is awesome!! 3. the temperature does feel little extra but it's not something that can make you prevent the car from purchasing!! The heat from the cabin does goes away faster when we open the sunroof as the hot air is lighter and as soon as we open sunroof, it just goes away! 4. No temperature difference, it's the same as normal cars! 5. We personally own cars with sunroof from last 3-4 years Except cleaning of glass we do nothing! Just one precaution you have to take! Don't open sunroof is there are leaves, dust, branches of tress have fallen! I do understand your concern and have tried to respond you in the best possible manner! Feel free to reply!

Q- Panoramic sunroof has rubber sealing inside so if we are driving or parked vehicle in direct sunlight during peak summer above 40+ D. Celsius will it create issue on sealing material? in one of the comment you mentioned now new Astor coming with thiker sunshade is that true? bcz all test drive cars are from old stock and they have thinner sunshade. also I am confused between manual and cvt. confused due to millage differences between manual and cvt.
No the temperature will not effect the rubber seal as they use high quality rubber, just for reference our door rubber seals works so well even after facing so much of heat and dust No the sunshades are same in all the sunroof irrespective of the year of manufacture! Hector has thicker! CVT is easy to drive and i personally feel it performs better than MT

Thanks for appreciation my efforts! No you don't need any kind of protection for the sunroof glass! In general the hot air inside the car can be removed from the car as soon as you open the sunroof! The heat gets away very fast! I live in North India too!
Thank you so much such a important thing you explained this has been our concern and a deal breaker for us but i wanted to know like the other had a thinker lid cover than a thin mesh like this can tht be fitted instead of this thin mesh lid in the car. And do u have any idea if MG helps us get it fitted to help the car remain cooler.

Frankly speaking i want to make an in-depth video about the heat entering the car but for that i need good temperature which will happen only in around May June! As of now living in Lucknow (capital of Uttar Pradesh) i didn't feel a major difference! It's all opinionated difference that i have felt!
Hi Prakash. Astor comes with rain sensing wipers. So what if you left the car with your sunroof open and it starts raining. Will the sunroof close or the cabin will be get wet?
Is there any option to replace sunroof blind (cloth) to any alternate dark color or applying dark film on sunroof glass will also solve the purpose, just wanted to know whether this can be done MG service center.

One important question about which I don’t see much content on TH-cam as well. Even though the glass is tampered, still what additional measures can we take to protect the glass from breakage when we are parking it in public places or even from any high speed stone/object hitting it when we are driving on road?
The tensile strength of tempered glass is easy higher than the glass we get on windscreen and window glass When we are driving the car, the probability of stone hitting the windscreen is more and the probability of stone hitting the sunroof is very less! If in a situation you are driving on hills and a big stone comes from above- dear then no one can really save you! This is not an armoured vehicles. Also if you think that anytime can break the glass from above and come inside - why wouldn't be break window glass first? For protection the glass from small scratches you can put additional 3m polythene but i am not sure if that's required
For a better peace of mind, get a good insurance with add-on. Because, these things are very uncertain. Neither you could plan your safety, nor could it be predicted.

I went for the test drive of this car a week before and the mesh sunroof was a deal breaker for me. In delhi, specially in summers it will be a big worry to the owner, according to me. Mg should make changes in its sunroof if they want to sell in India and compete with creta/seltos.
Just got the delivery of the 2023 Astor. One change is the way we open the sunroof. Instead of the dial style. It is like Hector. Two individual slider knob
Hi Prakash, I bought astor cvt two days back and I am getting a continuis crackling/ buzzing sound from somewhere behind the steering or MID when I drive more than 70kmph speed on highway. Did you have any such issue or do you know any reason why
Is it the Astor bot making that sound? Ask your co passenger to hold it once and check! If that's making the sound it will be replaced!! Also i didn't face this issue! My sound was coming from the sunroof
How durable is it like we have stray cats and dogs that come in the society and they jump over the car, so what are the chances of it cracking or breaking. Was considering this car but this point came to my mind
Hi Prakash, I remember in one of the videos you spoke about you upgrading spare tyre from 16 inch to 17 inch like main tyres. However in Astor there is no mag wheel in the spare tyre, so how did you go about mag wheel?

When u drive the vehicle during city drive on a bright day, is the mesh sufficient enough to make you feel comfortable in the car or is it hotter inside ?
Generally speaking - i don't get a chance to drive around 11-4 pm as i am at work at that time! Secondly yes the lack of hard surface does result in more light passage! But the heat is not extraordinary! However there is a 3m film to reduce this heat passage! I will get it installed so that people get an idea !
Just want to check out ur view on heating through sunshade. Else I m sold on Astor and planning to buy. Else it will end up big issue as we drive mostly in SUN 🤓

I have also booked the turbo automatic and was amazed by the sunroof but not sure how much i will be using it after the initial excitement is gone. I will definitely reply to your question!! First of all thank you for appreciating my efforts!! Secondly the sunroof - The sunroof doesn't really have a big list of purpose! First thing is makes the car look very very premium Secondly it makes the cabin bright which in turn makes the cabin feel airy On a good rainfall day the view from inside look amazing and On hills you can enjoy by opening the sunroof. Honestly speaking i never open it in North India. But if you ask me if i had an option to buy a car without sunroof .. Would i do that - no i would have not opted for that! Sunroof makes the car look very nice!! And i like it! Does it gets too much heat? No even the car with normal roof is also getting hot these days! What matters is strong ac!

Hi bro! I live in North India too! The glass above is not a normal window glass! It's tempered glass and one of the quality that it has is to deflect heat of the sun approx 80% Though i am not expecting the temperature to be too high but If in case the heat of the sun troubles me I will install film on the sunroof! Can you please update on heat via sunroof glass in astor. You have now spent entire summers in it now. Most of the other comment are 3 to 4 months old.
So let me share this with you - No doubt the temperatures in a car having glass top is more than a vehicle having a sheet! But the benefit sunroof has is that - since the hot air stays high so as soon as you open the sunroof for 10-15 second the hot air is all out and then it takes 300 meters drive to bring back ac on cold air! I hope you got an answer Feel free to revert
The thin cloth is light blocking but it doesn't do what creta one does! However new cars are coming up with thin cloth like that! Not much too worry about!!

AC cooling is pretty strong ! I didn't felt it to be something such a major issue! Let's wait till June to experience it more! Ways to avoid it- heat resistant film 3m would be great choice! 🙂

I am very curious to know that , Astor ke sunroof ki wajah se jo uske niche cloth hai wo baht thin hai like net, to usse light kitni aati hai day me drive karne pe, does that create issue, aur kya heat pass Hoti hai zada during summer or harsh sunlight. Because it’s not like other cars where car body is given under the sunroof, but in Astor it a thin cloth. Please answer, ye koi sahi se answer nahi kar paa rahe hai clearly
Light ka entrance no doubt jyada hai! Uss cloth se kam to hota hai but nothing which can satisfy a person sleeping on a hot day during afternoon in the car! There is one thing i have thought and that is to install a 3m film if i feel that heat or light is entering too much inside the car! The film are UV protected and same with the glasses - they are heat resistant! So dono karne k baad i am confident that things will improve if required during hot summers 🙂
Lekin bhaiya agar hamne sunroof khol di aur mesh band kardi to keede makaude to zaroor oopar hi atak jaayenge but jab baad mein mesh kholenge galti se to saare mere sar k oopar gir bhi to jaayenge ☺️

No it won't start turning off!
It should have come with rain sensing auto close function

There is an option of 3m film but the MG service centre would not be able to do the same.you will have to get it done from aftermarket

I bought astor cvt two days back and I am getting a continuis crackling/ buzzing sound from somewhere behind the steering or MID when I drive more than 70kmph speed on highway. Did you have any such issue or do you know any reason why
Is it the Astor bot making that sound? Ask your co passenger to hold it once and check!
If that's making the sound it will be replaced!!
Also i didn't face this issue!

Hi Prakash, I remember in one of the videos you spoke about you upgrading spare tyre from 16 inch to 17 inch like main tyres. However in Astor there is no mag wheel in the spare tyre, so how did you go about mag wheel?

Bhai ee sunroof pura patla hy na tho suraj ka light produce hoga ya nhi?
Suuraj ki light se thoda interior cabin mein light jyada rehti hai but as such koi bahut Jayda issue nahi hai!
When u drive the vehicle during city drive on a bright day, is the mesh sufficient enough to make you feel comfortable in the car or is it hotter inside ?
Generally speaking - i don't get a chance to drive around 11-4 pm as i am at work at that time!
Secondly yes the lack of hard surface does result in more light passage!
But the heat is not extraordinary!
However there is a 3m film to reduce this heat passage! I will get it installed so that people get an idea !
I saw people in bhp have reported heating issues during the day due to thin mesh. It seem to be big issue in astor

Secondly the sunroof -
The sunroof doesn't really have a big list of purpose!
First thing is makes the car look very very premium
Secondly it makes the cabin bright which in turn makes the cabin feel airy
On a good rainfall day the view from inside look amazing and
On hills you can enjoy by opening the sunroof.
Honestly speaking i never open it in North India.
But if you ask me if i had an option to buy a car without sunroof .. Would i do that - no i would have not opted for that!
Sunroof makes the car look very nice!!

No even the car with normal roof is also getting hot these days!

The glass above is not a normal window glass! It's tempered glass and one of the quality that it has is to deflect heat of the sun approx 80%
Though i am not expecting the temperature to be too high but
If in case the heat of the sun troubles me
I will install film on the sunroof! That would add the protection from the sun!

Can you please update on heat via sunroof glass in astor. You have now spent entire summers in it now. Most of the other comment are 3 to 4 months old.
So let me share this with you -
No doubt the temperatures in a car having glass top is more than a vehicle having a sheet!
But the benefit sunroof has is that - since the hot air stays high so as soon as you open the sunroof for 10-15 second the hot air is all out and then it takes 300 meters drive to bring back ac on cold air!

Grand vitara and toyota hyryder has thin translucent cloth inside, just like mg astor. Hence i thought to check.
The thin cloth is light blocking but it doesn't do what creta one does!
However new cars are coming up with thin cloth like that!

AC cooling is pretty strong ! I didn't felt it to be something such a major issue!

I am very curious to know that , Astor ke sunroof ki wajah se jo uske niche cloth hai wo baht thin hai like net, to usse light kitni aati hai day me drive karne pe, does that create issue, aur kya heat pass Hoti hai zada during summer or harsh sunlight. Because it’s not like other cars where car body is given under the sunroof, but in Astor it a thin cloth.

Light ka entrance no doubt jyada hai!
Uss cloth se kam to hota hai but nothing which can satisfy a person sleeping on a hot day during afternoon in the car!
There is one thing i have thought and that is to install a 3m film if i feel that heat or light is entering too much inside the car!
The film are UV protected and same with the glasses - they are heat resistant!
So dono karne k baad i am confident that things will improve if required during hot summers 🙂

The anti pinch blocks the functioning!
You need to turn off your sunroof completely and restart the use !
