I was a little bit scared to listen to dayshell because I thought nothing could compare to the work Shay did in om&m, but I have to say these guys are killing it. Not just Shay's vocals, but the whole band in general, especially the bassist. I love it :3 Can't wait to hear more from them

Maybe its the more aggressive sound from Austin's vocals with that sort of mesmerizing sound of Shayley's, but i don't think either band is as good as when they were both together.
I honestly hate Austin's vocals. They're way to piercing (in the bad way). Of Mice and Men are good instrumentally, but Austin's vocals ruin it for me. Dayshell is so much better than Of Mice and Men, but hey, that's my opinion.

I saw them last night at Mojoes here in Joliet, IL, and they were TERRIBLE. I decided to look them up and see how they sounded, and they are pretty amazing. Personally, I think they must have partied too hard with I See Stars before their set. They played three songs, and then they walked off stage. They were a hot mess. Their bassist collapsed or something, and fell off stage (he got up about 2 minutes later though, so he's okay thankfully) but the vocals were butchered to hell, and all over the place. Hopefully they'll play another show here soon, and they'll put on a better performance.

No. Shay did leave for his own reasons but part of it was because of a feud between him and Austin. Both of them wanted to be the face of the band and neither one wanted to coexist anymore. They started to complain about each other and it caused a rift in the band. You can see on social media now that Austin tends to be out on his own without the band. It is the reason he was kicked from Attack Attack. Great vocalist great guy shitty friend/bandmate. He's only with the band when it's scheduled.

It's funny, the song that got me into metalcore, and by extension far heavier music later on, was "Feels Like Forever" by OM&M. That style is very similar to this. I didn't hear of Dayshell until later on, but I definitely agree. The crunchy staccato of the guitars makes me think of Chevelle songs like "Fizgig."
That was never going to be the name, it was just a name they put on the song for whenever they were in the studio. Most bands put ridiculous names before ACTUALLY naming the songs.
I'm a huge Carlile fan and I have to admit without Shay he's let Pauley call alot of the shots on the last two albums mainly because he can't compare to Shays cleans or backup screams I miss Shay being in OM&M maybe these last two albums would've been heavier

I'm a huge Carlile fan and I have to admit without Shay he's let Pauley call alot of the shots on the last two albums mainly because he can't compare to Shays cleans or backup screams I miss Shay being in OM&M maybe these last two albums would've been heavier
Or the realistic version of the fact Shayley had different ambitions.. I'm positive OM&M would of had him back in a heartbeat.
