King Bhumibol Adulyadej was an exceptional monarch and an amazing human being. It seemed as though his every waking moment was dedicated to the well-being of the Thai people. He was also a great composer and musician and we Americans fondly called him "The Jazz King". I'm proud to say that he was born in my country!!
As an Australian, I mostly agree with what you have said, however I will say, in my opinion he was not only an exceptional monarch, but in my opinion, the single greatest monarch of all time and he may have been born in the USA but he will always be Thai. Have a lovely day!

This song used to be Thailand's National Anthem from 1888 til 1932 when this country was Siam.
I first heard this anthem when I watch a movie in a Bangkok cinema back around 2006. It is a very touching anthem devoted to the Thai monarchy.
