I am an 81 year old, Black woman, worked as Civil Servant for years and years.
Retired now.
Did not retire to spend remaining years raising grand children.
So, that crap about grand parents being the gap for parents child care is out the window.
Older American create a life for themselves, finally doing the things they want to do.
Older Americans are living longer, in good health, and want to do what they want to do. They don't want to be baby setters, staying home and raising other people's children.
So with that being said, JDVance can go straight to where the sun don't shine. If Vance mother in law wants to be a door mat grandma that's on her.

It's a balance. Leading with the joy and promise of America. Reminding people of how very serious the situation is that we find ourselves in. Bringing it home by putting ourselves on the grander stage of history where generations before us has looked tyranny in the face and overcome. Cleared eyed, we fight, we win.
Criminalizing voting, and the fear of being a target, is already real in Florida. When Floridians voted to allow most felons to vote, the DeKKKlantis regime created an Election Goon Squad. They arrested voters to whom the state had sent an ID card, some of whom by the new law were within the 6 month immunity period created to allow for the initial confusion of whether or not someone was eligible. Of course, they did nothing about the criminals in Hialeah who changed registered Democrats to the Republican Party.
So under the cloud of that kind of persecution of Democrats, I found myself in a quandary. My mail in ballot, the day before the 2020 election, did not show as having been received and counted. I had dropped it off in person. I researched what my options were and found that I could show up in person and ask for a provisional ballot. But a friend asked me what if I was accused of trying to vote twice, given the proven lawlessness of the administration.
At first I dismissed the question, but then began to think it wasn't such a far-fetched concern. By morning I didn't know what to do. Fortunately, the supervisor of elections website showed that my ballot had been counted.
But the fact that this was a legitimate concern turns my stomach to this day.

I'm 52 yrs old. I still work full time, I have a mortgage, bills and pretty healthy. I won't be spending my remaining years when I get to retire looking after grandchildren as a full time job. Babysitting occasionally is cool but not as substitute for nursery school. Those early childhood programs are what needs to be strenghtened and affordable.
I need all the Republican leaders who are no longer supporting Trump and supporting Kamala Harris to be practicing debating with her

Isn’t it interesting how the Harris-Walz campaign brings about a very positive dynamic? Even in the talk shows, we see a much more positive attitude toward the news of the day and the impact of volunteers on potential voters. Even 3 or 4 months ago, these news round tables were gloomy and uncertain. I believe this powerful feeling translates well into viewers perspectives. I know I feel it. I’d would dare to suggest an appropriate slogan: “ Vote for Kamala and keep on smiling. Or, “I’m smiling cause I’m with Kamala.”

It really is difficult to frame this wideranging, terrifying radical agenda in a way that everyone can grasp. This discussion illustrates that. It's so broad and a mind flip to the layman. So im not sure its that constructive as a segment. Robert Thrum explains it better.
It's really tough getting folks to see the larger picture beyond their own immediate needs, which are urgent needs, that is the possibility of losing every freedom and every right that we have as US citizens and sometimes take for granted. But seeing beyond our own, immediate personal needs is exactly what is necessary for the Democratic Party to win this election up and down the ballot. Every citizen is being call upon to make the necessary sacrifice of putting country over self. We all must do it. It is the only way.
The point needs to be driven home to all Americans! That if Donald Trump is elected, you will have to work at least five more years of your life to receive the benefits owed to you! Now think about that! After the age of 65 we are at a much greater risk of things going wrong with our health! So do you want to work five more years past 65? When will you ever get to enjoy your life?
The problem is, a surprising amount of people aren't concerned about Project 2025 or they actually like at least some parts of it. While I definitely want Harris to continue warning people about it, I fear it's not going to result in too many new voters for her at this point.
