My mom always braided my hair when I was a little girl. She always did a fantastic job! I'm 34 now, and she's going to be attempting knotless boho braids on my hair this weekend. I haven't done box braids (neither has she) in 20+ years. I'm so glad I found this tutorial. It'll help refresh her skills. Thank you!
This is literally me! I’m 35 and hasn’t worn braids since middle school. My mom use to do them ❤❤. I could never wear them as an adult I would get headaches and take them out in less than a week. But oven been practicing safe styles and gradually trying new things. I’m growing my hair out and working towards healthy hair. I do my own braids now and even sitting for hour’s doing individuals, I still take them out 2-3 weeks. But it’s ok!! I love doing them and trying new styles. Even finding it therapeutic doing my own braids. Thank you for showing and inspiring!!
Thank you for this video. My daughter is going away on a 7 day trip and I just know she will look a hott mess when she returns. I followed this video and everyone thinks she went to a professional. I have a newfound respect for braiders. I was burnt out from doing this once. Special thanks to all the braiders who keep women looking beautiful.😊
This was a perfect tutorial, you didn’t skip over anything and showed the parts from the beginning of her hair to end! This was so helpful thank you ❤❤❤
This is by far the best, most beneficial, and helpful video I have EVER SEEN!!!! Thank you thank you thank you so much. Now I'm ready to start braiding.
Im so very thankful for finding this channel ive never had my hair done in my adult years since ive been on my own and to afraid to let people touch my hair ever since i met someone who was Scissor happy this will definitely help me in the long run!! Thank you for explaining everything step by step i truly appreciated it💕
I have a grand baby she started her ninth grade she's 14 years old and that's the style she want for her 1st day In high school of this September thank you so much smooches love you❤❤
Oh my goodness thank you I always got confused at the tutorials that’s skipped some rows but I found your video and I’m going to try it I’m a starter at braiding so wish me good luck ❤ thank You also your voice was very soothing and I love how you put details and information thank you 🙏🏼
One of the best parting videos that I’ve come across. You just helped me with my twists. Although, I’m going for smaller parts. I definitely had to subscribe!
From a mixed woman who has full black daughters thank you! This gave me everything I needed to know without making me feel dumb or less than for not knowing it 💕
@@Indybindy why does some ppl braids look stiff ? Can you do a video about that. I remember someone saying it’s about knowing what size braids for the hair but idk. Another questions how to position your hands when braiding. I’m trying not to become discouraged I’m a beginner to braided in general. ❤
Thank you for taking the time out ti share your technique. I used your parting method today and my knotless came out flawless. Parting from the middle was a game changer.
This was so helpful! You answered all the questions I had about consistent parting, how much hair to use , how much hair to buy, and how much product to use on the hair . My braids were never crisp and I never used enough product to lay the part down. I also could never get the top of the head right . The part would off or the size of the braids and the number of braids on each side would not match . I wish I could pay for you this !!😅
Ty so much I came to college in another country and there's no one to help me with my hair... My mom wouldn't help me before but at least it was easier and cheaper to find someone who knows how to do it. I spent this whole year wanting braids and struggling to find proper hair products for natural hair. I'm going to try now and follow your tutorial. Tysm!!🤍🤍🤍 Edit: 1 hour after I finally got 4 parts that don't look that straight but I'm fine with it 🥹
This was fantastic! I braid my daughter’s hair and I am somehow always stumped when I get frustrated about parting. Thank you for the confirmation lol. I’ve been braiding since I was 10, but did some reason each session is not as smooth as I would like it to be.
You really are a pro. I learn so much from you from start up to where I’m at right now. You even gave us what website or app to use for our booking site. I’m going to continue watching so I can learn more from you. Than you so much ❤❤❤
It is because of YOU that I am going to go get hair from the store AND pull my mannequin head out of my box and START braiding‼️ This is THEE BEST video that I’ve seen of someone that braids exactly like me🙌 I love EVERYTHING about THIS video🔥 THANK YOU QUEEN🙏🏽❤️🔥 #shoutouttotheunderhandbraiders #newsubscriber
Thank you for this. I braid my own hair. But the last time I did it, I wanted it to be fuller and used too much braiding hair and small boxes. It was a NIGHTMARE. Lol. This really helps me understand how much to use and how big the boxes should be.
I was talking to my big sister and she was blown away. About the box braids she said do you remember when you were little girl how are used to put your hair in these braids. Yeah this is back in the early 70s. box braids been out for a minute.
Great video , one comment if added, if you made the top section(s) a bit larger, the row below it would be a bit more even, and the top row would be a bit bigger - making it more even as well
I braided someone hair for first time n didn’t do bad but I didn’t like my parting so glad I came to this vid tho like I’m a fast learner I got the braiding down in secs by one look so I got faith in my parting now😂
The braids look really good! I don't use Jam products, because of it containing mineral oil. Any product containing mineral oil is bad for my family's skin. Can you tell me other kinds of holding gels that are good for the braids?
This is so crazy I remember my big sister couldn't these type of braids in my hair way back in the 70s did not know they were going to . Be so popular. 🙆🏽♀️😔😍

This should be called parting for big heads because this is definitely what i need. That row towards the top is where i have my biggest problem.

VERY helpful & detailed. Loved that you also included how to knotless braid as well. Thank you!
If only these “big’ box” braids was popular back when I was doing braids, in the dookie braid era; it would have saved me a ton of time 😅
