In his world, Mortal Kombat was a game. He was obsessed with it, copying the moves in his spare time, writing fan fiction, and creating fan art. He was a true diehard MK fan. Then he grew up. He got a job. He got an apartment, a car, even a girlfriend, and he found it all to be absolutely boring. Then, one day, he gets hit by a truck. In his near dead state, the man learns he can bridge the gap between the realities of his world and his favorite game. Now he knows what to do. He will merge the worlds. He will no longer be forced to live a boring life. He will bring a new era to his world and Mortal Kombat. That or he's an elder god with basically the same reasoning, being tired of the same old same old, he decides to intervene in events out of mostly boredom
I headcanon that Mokap is descended from Chaosrealm. He's some random motion capture guy, but seems okay with the bloodshed that's going on. In Deception's Konquest mode you'll catch him strutting around with a big smile on his face. If you punch him he won't do anything about it, he gets back up and starts strutting again like nothing happened.
Here's my suggestion: Mokap is a being from a different universe who witnessed all the events in the mk universes, and now he wants to interact with the people he watched for thousands of years because... He thinks they are cool (He is the ultimate mk loremaster)
The reason as to why deadpool works is because he's in his own movie with a specific tone, if you were to actually put a charachter like him in a serious story it wouldn't really fit, breaking the fourth wall can sort of be done in a serious story if you are incredibly subtle oterwhise you just break tension and immersion.
In my headcanon Mokap is nothing more than a normal guy from Chicago who is unaware of how strong he actually is. Everyone thinks he's a joke, even himself, when really he's a kombat prodigy. And when he's asked about it he humbly goes "I don't know man, I just go to karate class on Tuesdays." I guess I'm just a fan of the "joke character who is actually crazy strong" trope.
Ok, I’ll try to solve the riddle: Mokap is neither a god, nor anything related to the one being, nor he is affiliated with any alignment or realm. He represents the writers. He does all the things he does to set the plot points in motion. Like he graphically represents the guys that give the actual characters their moves (explaining why he masters all), on a meta level he represents, well, the meta itself.
@@CynicalWarlockSo I was right when I asked you if you are going to make a video and you said maybe and now I think you are going to make part two of this video or atleast confirm whatever you have going on that cynical head of your 😜😜👹👹 As something as much I would like him to know something about titans and their plans that scorpion mentioned in his mk11 ending but I don't think you are going in that direction but I do think that may be he is someone powerful who survived reset of timeline by chronica and that's how he knows so much
@@yungjeezy5232 it´s tricky, but it can be pulled off with a bit subtlety. Hint that some "greater scope neutral entity" whose goal is to control the narrative is acting through Mokap, but never flat-out talk about "narrative" or "writers". Leave it vague. Someone will get it, someone else will find a more in-universe explanation for the higher beings, and both can be correct.
My idea is that Mokap is another person given a quest by Damashi to get the Kamidogus and got the same ability as Shujinko, being able to take others' abilities and maybe ever their memories. I mean, Shujinko took his whole life to complete the quest so Onaga had to have asked other people to help as well but Shujinko was the only one to actually get any Kamidogu and survive. Mokap in this case would find the Earthrealm Kamidogu but be stopped before putting it in the Nexus by that Monster guy who just talked it out and told him it would awaken big scary Onaga, so Mokap made the logical decision of putting it back and just going off on his own adventures, finding more warriors to gain their abilities and staying informed on the politics of the realms but not really sticking to one side as all his travels and knowledge led to him not commiting to his home realm kinda like Bo Rai Cho. Even after Onaga is freed, he doesn't recognize Mokap as he was one of probably hundreds of champions who died on their quests before Shujinko was just lucky and also stupid enough to actually do it. Mokap just kinda finds a way to meet every character once and then never again so he could be the greatest and most knowledgable warrior of all time, maybe he can make a library of everything he has learned for everyone he met and that's where every mk character's bio pages come from.
I was just recently thinking about this and I'm glad you brought up how Onaga would have enlisted multiple agents to do his dirty work for him. It always seemed weird to me how he just contacted this one kid, pinned all his hopes on him, and it just happened to pay off, decades later. It makes much more sense to use as many pawns as possible, to feasibly beat the odds. And yeah, love this Mokap idea. It stays in-universe, unlike many of the other takes here, and I like the idea of a purposeless pawn - a guy who was empowered to complete a task that's no longer necessary, and he's now rudderless - it's interesting to see these characters wander around and try to find purpose.
@@CynicalWarlock Kazuya's my all time fav fighting game character as you can tell by my profile pic. I can't wait til you start doing these types of vids on Tekken
I'm gonna quote Marathon Infinity's final line from the ending as my answer : "I know who you are... you are destiny." Cuz to me here's there to "guide" the characters into events that are supposed to happen, he's there to make sure everything is going as intended and will use his power to make it happen, he's neither good or bad, he's the DM of the MK Universe.
From his face in the fan art at 11:07, the personality warlock gave him and the way he acts in his "rewrite" and the misteryous identity of the charachter with the possibility of him being a god i keep thinking about Gaunter O Dimm from the witcher 3 heart of stone.
Absolutely a great video. Some of the things that you come up with I don't agree with, but every single one of your videos are bangers. I love your channel man. I think the one being idea would be the coolest most novel thing from mortal Kombat. I didn't even think of that the moment you said it I was like oh my God that's perfect. Keep it up man, whatever is in your head soup is entertaining to me.
I really appreciate that. Would've been concerned if you liked every single take, cause like, what are the odds? It's also awesome that you gravitated towards the One Being option. Thanks for the feedback, it's very useful.
11:15 E, none of the above. Mokap could be a titan hailing from a space outside the natural flow of time, an extra-dimensional trickster figure (not unlike Marvel's Loki, or 40k's Cegorach).
@@CynicalWarlock I've been busy. Moved apartments, have to tend to vehicle maintenance, friends and family have also been taking up my time. Lots of videos to catch on. Also, the titans were never very well defined (having only been introduced in MK11). Having Mokap be a Titan would be a hilarious twist.
@@kylenguyen7371 Friends and family is the best thing to take up your time. I actually think NRS would love the idea of Titan Mokap. Even the name sounds so funny.
I really dig your idea of Mokap being MK's "have you seen this man" creepypasta. I wonder if you also took inspiration from that besides Stan Lee's MCU cameos.
I would like his powers to be a literal mocap dude who is aware that he is a video game character. He is all powerful but chooses to stay away or fight in either side to be funny
If you wanna guys blame why Mokap is not in the game I think a portion of the guys back + the guys from Screwattack persuaded a lot of us how much of a crap ball he is. Then somewhere between 2015 onwards some guys have the balls and dedicate themselves and make him into a great character in a fanfiction. What dedication lol.
lets be honest we let screw attack and the fighters generation gaslight us into believe alot of the 3d era characters were irredeemable, sure some designs and ideas were poorly executed but if they just had a second chance we could get something good out of em.... Except Jarek, what the hell was ed thinking
Loool, i just recently commented on your long-ass video that i especially liked Mokap's deepest lore, and now you bring even more 💀 That's very interesting though, i never even tried to look at him at least somewhat closely to that perspective. And answering your question, i think he's none of the above. Considering his clearly "breaking the 4'th wall" appearance, name and surely devs' intentions (as well as your take, i see a theme), he should be something out of the world of MK, something completely different.
Thisd be amazing! Also imagine hes like a character you can see in the background during important scenes. Maybe the balls on him have some magical abilities that can replicate peoppes abilities? Or hes just built different
I think Mokap is more or less a literal force of nature. Like he somehow knows everything that has or could happen in any possible timeline, universe or whatever, but that also comes with the knowledge that things have to happen a specific way in order to lead to something neccessary, perhaps to avoid or commence Armageddon. And so, he goes around influencing these events into existence in order to make sure that the world stays on track with what "needs" to happen.
The one being. Essentially the one being with separated, but even in death, Onaga possessed in essence to communicate with shujinko right. So I’m thinking the same thing. He cares not about the sides of good and evil because at the end of the day all there will be is him as an eternal
think the best way to explain him is that he's not a god, zaterran, but some other being who is able to play "Roles" others give him. need him to delay someone, he's skilled enough to go on par with said person. want new recruits, he's all of the sudden willing to join, as if its his lifelong dream. you want someone who can help make a deal with a dragon king, he all the sudden has a good reason for the king to listen to him, with a deal that will prevent another conquest.
The way how I would write Mokap move set is whistle projections where he could make anything out of whistling similar to green lanterns but I'm still work shopping the story of the whistles
Mokap is an emissary of the fans of mk. These allies beyond the realms are the fans of mk. He's directing the flow of the story through subtle influences; showing that he has far greater power than the eldergods, or rather proving he isn't an elder god as he isn't bound by their domain.
He's a Shang-Tsung experiment with Zatterian's blood going in and out of the bulbs made from a super strong material, so he can mirror/copy the exact abilities at the around exact power and efficiency as his oponent
Love your Mokap you've made him Gman a time paradox who ensure all the characters and important set pieces are in place and undo much of time fuckery Liu Kang and Kronika has done and he cleans up that mess my takeaway from your mystery.
I love the idea that he is just a bit dense and very humble. Like he doesn't know what's happening really and just wants to be there and helpful. Also I completely agree on disliking the mystery box trope. Its fine to have a mystery but that trope is literally just mystery for mystery sake. It isn't using the mystery for a purpose.
Yeah, I actually listened to some of J J's presentation, after the fact (lol), and turns out there are plenty of similarities in our thinking, but when I look at how he applies the concept to his movies, it ranges from pretty good (Cloverfield) to insulting (Star Wars), more towards the latter, and that is, indeed, because he skews too far toward the mystery side of the spectrum.
@@CynicalWarlock its definitely how he applies the idea and not the idea itself. Having a good mystery is always welcomed but when the mystery is like "Whose Rey's parents?" or "Why did Luke leave?" it gets frustrating. Because its so clear he didn't have an answer to any of those questions.
@@Knight1029 Yep, not coincidentally, those 2 answers were absolutely terrible. The Reapers from Mass Effect are also in this category, unfortunately - a really cool concept that they didn't really have an answer to, initially.
@@CynicalWarlock it honestly sucks with the Reapers because they could have just kept it vague. But it seemed they didn't want to that. And if they didn't want to do that they could have had Sovereign said "Our purpose would frighten you" instead of "We are unknowable". They really shoot themselves in the foot there.
@@Knight1029 Yeah, not to toot my own horn, but I think this Mokap reimagining is the way to go, broadly speaking. Work out a full-fledged, very detailed explanation for the Reapers, but don't communicate to the audience; communicate only clues. Lots of them. If it's just enough for people to piece together either the truth or the wrong story that's nonetheless just as viable and compelling, it's a) immensely satisfying for the people who figured it out, and b) you also get to not sacrifice the Reapers' mystique.
In Liu Kang's new era, he is the Zateran politician that made the law to exterminate all Zaterans who are like Reptile because he knows that if the shape shifting power were to get into the wrong hands, it can be devastated to the realms as seen with Shang Tsung. Mokap now resides in Earthrealm after retiring from Zateran politics. He is Johnny's stunt double but he secretly holds much political power in Earthrealm, being one of the corrupt lizard people that conspiracy theorists say run the world from behind the scenes. Still humble, jovial, but nobody can figure out whether he's good or evil.
In my own particular headcanon, MoKap is another tech guy, hence the funky suit. Since Earthrealm technology can replicate the various magic effects of Kombatants, his rig could be a technological attempt to replicate the mimicking effects of the Chameleons (a mimic of a mimic). You could even give it a cute Marvel-style acronym, something like "Modular Operative Kombat Augmentation Platform." Those mocap balls all over his suit are sensor nodes that read information from the people he fights, then the ones on his head link to his brain to make his body instantly perform the techniques of other fighters. To keep it nice and mysterious, there's still questions about where this technology comes from, who's building it and why, what they're going to do if they ever get everyone's powers, etc.
In a meta way, You can also have Mokap bring back previous moveset iterations of Previous MK games. Like a random dial, that you won't know which moveset your getting. MKX Liu Kang or MK11 Liu Kang
This is a VERY good and interesting theory. A seemingly goofy joke character the player and in-universe characters alike don't take too seriously but slowly revealed to be either someone/something far more sinister or possibly good intentions in mind albeit through morally questionable means. That would be a fantastic twist if down right. Trailed with a few breadcrumbs to be sure. 👀
So he's Shinjuko just without the power being given to him and naturally has it but is carefree enough to not get involved in the plot details but will goof off around those he meets carrying his knowledge into each nee interaction.
Mokap seems to be a normal person, known from all The characters, It is amazed by everything but still, matches moves by moves every adversary either good or evil. Mocap is more than everyone realises because IT is YOU.
I'm sure somebody else said this, but I wanted to give my version before checking the others, just to avoid undue influences. The closest association I have for your description of Mokap scenes is Half-Life's G-Man. A mysterious agent of unspecified employers, who seem to have a "from outside" view of the situation (whether its outside time or outside reality), but an agent who seems sometimes to have his own agenda (or just a lot of leeway and trust in how he handles situations), with only a small portion of our cast having even vague idea of who he is or on whose behalf he works. This will be less serious part of my answer, but your Mokap mentions New Earth. I know only one fictional setting of that name: the mainline DC continuity after Crisis on Infinite Earths and before Flashpoint (at least I think those were the relevant reset points). So... Mokap works for whoever organizes all the crossover stuff (both the MKvsDC game, and all the guest characters, in MK and in Injustice). We'll call them... World Bridgers, WB for short. However there is an internal disagreement there. Mokap's direct superiors are not fans of what replaced the New Earth (New 52, I think, was the next one). So that's why they have Mokap talk to Onaga, the one classically most connected to Kamidogu, the tools of Elder Gods that were the starting points of creation of the realms. They (or Mokap himself) believe that Onaga with Kamidogu is a prospective World Restorer. So they work to steer him and other candidates to positions and situations where they would be willing and able to restore DC's New Earth. Part of that job is also removing obstacles, but Mokap mercifully chooses to settle for delaying potential spanners in the works.
That's the 3rd time someone made a G-Man connection, and it absolutely made my day. And it makes sense I'd steer it in that kind of a direction - I practically obsess over the G-Man's speeches. Damn, your DC knowledge is on (Flash)point. Very impressive. I will say, Onaga - with or without the Kamidogu - is associated with resurrection, so you're on point there. He has the power to resurrect people en masse, and brought himself back from the dead basically cause he was pissed.
He's.... Ghost Face 👻 😂 😱 🔪 But in ALL seriousness I absolutely LOVE this concept and will be happy with ANY of the 5 you have provided. SERIOUSLY why aren't you writing MK for a living under NRS? They'd actually be good under your influence. Well done man!
Mokap takes off his face, to reveal the Ghostface mask underneath. I love it. Thanks so much, Nick. Eh, maybe after a few more videos I'll send the channel link as a portfolio or somethin. To be honest with you, I'm not sure if I *want* to work at NRS, or any big company.
@@CynicalWarlock In truth I probably wouldn't want to work for NRS or a company either because you wouldn't have the freedom to do things the proper way. I'm sure they would fuse your ideas with like 40 other people and it'd get lost in the shuffle. However if the gaming industry were like the 90's you could really shine. Either way your ideas would be really good and you at least COULD find success at NRS; or Midway, but now it's too popular and any dream of working there would NOW be a nightmare.
@@Nick-up5wv Yeah, that's exactly what I'd be worried about. But hey, never say never. You know, one of my earliest crackpot, pie-in-the-sky ideas to solve this problem was to create a rival video game company, and make a fighting game that's basically MK in all but name, avoiding just the names and other things that would get you sued, and make it all happen that way. Except, instead of MK, I thought of this for the Diablo series, a few years back, when I was (and I just realize this) basically doing the same thing I'm doing for MK now: rewriting shit lore, crap story, idiot gameplay.
@@CynicalWarlockThis is going to be a bit long, but I'll tell you a story. Back in high school I was writing✍️ an "original" story about a ninja who seeks revenge on the warrior who murdered his father. He eventually confronts the Elder warrior in a cave; who turns out to be a powerful "sorcerer." Although defeated the man reveals that there is about to be an avalanche and the whole cave is collapsing; with the ninja's father STILL alive. Do to cruelty of life however the young ninja fails to make it in time to save his father before exiting and leaving his father to die in the avalanche. The sorcerer mocked the ninja just before this event occurred mocking him and telling him that if he had spared his life; or at least not gone after him, the resulting battle wouldn't have occurred; nor the avalanche and the ninja's father may have survived. However now both the ninja's greatest enemy and father are destined to perish in the rubble below... or DOES the sorcerer TRUELY perish? I'm not sure if there was going to be a sequel or not. Anyway after going through the whole story I realized like 60% of my "original" story that I was SO proud of was basically just Mortal Kombat inspired.😅 There was a dragon and there was an American guy named "Frank" for some reason, that took in our hero and nursed him back to health from severe battle wounds from a random ninja clan that attacks him; think Foot Clan from TMNT, for a few months before sending him back to Japan to continue his quest for revenge; think Daredevil or Lone Ranger. My character patrols rooftops and cities like Batman, but a lot of it was like game play from Ninja Geiden. He has a magic cloak like Dr. Strange, but it allows him to turn invisible, like MK ninjas, but I belive I was referencing Reptile at the time since I also liked Predator. Oh and he had his father's sword given to him and his father was an expert Swordsman; think Kenshi. Eventually my ninja character fights a Samurai; whom for "reasons" SO original I know, who wants to "kill" all ninjas. So he's basically just strange up Mitsorugi from Soul Calibur. Legitimately I was playing alot of Soul Calibur at the time and Mitsorugi was my favorite. Also I liked the Samurai from Ultimate Warrior and thought that would've been a good fit for Mortal Kombat. Anyway my Samurai character was later added to Mortal Kombat; during MKA Kreate a fighter mode at least, and his backstory was his village was attacked and his parents were murdered by a ninja. Was it the same ninja as mine? An ancient clan? Any ninja from MK? Who knows, but it was DEFINITELY a ninja and so he grew up his whole life training in the ways of the Samurai and taking jobs protecting Emporers in Japan, just to get close to and murder ninjas. Anyway his big chance finally came in MKA when he went on a quest to kill all if MK's ninjas; mainly because people were complaining there were "too many ninjas" and this was MY solution. Oh and he attacked the cybers because they're still ninjas and went after the Special Forces and later Nitara and Reptile all because they were seen with Cyrax. That got long winded. Anyway this is just the abridged version of my story; which goes MORE into detail, but you get the gist. It becomes more and more like Mortal Kombat as it goes on; for better or worse.
At the start of the video: this is about Meat or Mokap. A few seconds in: hey, second guess. I say Mokap is a sliver of the One Being. Its the kind of mystery that works just as long as you never reveal the truth.
My guess is that Mokap is a man lopking for the control of all, seeking to keep all under a singular rule.He desires to forge all of life together, and believes he must persuade larger organisations to start his plan.
My idea is that he is a small shard of the One Being. But he is the shard that was left over when making the ChaosRealm. He is practically the Raiden of Chaos. But, Chaosrralm doesn’t need a Raiden and the realm itself is Alice enough to know he doesn’t belong. So he wanders around, practically immortal. This idea also blends well with my rewrite of MK1 and how the new timeline affects things. How both Liu Kang and Shang Tsung both come to realise there’s something wrong and how they both need to work together to overcome the One Being. And the realisation they have. And of all things, Mokap is the final boss. Or rather, he’s the sun boss and then transforms into the final boss as the One Being gives his fragment more power and when he’s defeated the heroes work to fully bind the One Being again.
Ok ok warlock let me give it a shot so for Mokap to running to Keith figures like liu kang, Johnny Cage, and Stryker means he has to have a vast amount of knowledge and experience. When you add to the fact that he knows Cendell reptile Shang Tsung and others this would mean he would have to have an extremely long life. a life long enough to wear knowledge of him doesn’t overlap in between characters until he wants it to or until the plot thickens enough to where people are questioning. How do you know that guy as well? The fact that he doesn’t use magic or evolutionary ability or An ability bestowed to him like shujinko with the Dragon king tell me a bit more. What if Shinko represents the player not the writers as his comrades are not of the six realms. The players pick from a category of fighters while playing this game, which means even if they are a noob (no bi Han) they have access to all the fighters combat moves not just special moves. I feel that represents the lineage and legacy of Mortal Kombat players. as the players existed long before many of these characters were thought up, came to existence before the game and have access to catalog of fighting moves. This also gives credit to the player, not being good or evil because they can pick whoever they want to play as we players don’t care for the ending is good or bad we care if the game is good and bad that we reset moves into sequence and motion for the story to begin and finish.
Rock Lee version of Chameleon, straight Tai jutsu or Zaterran god who knows. I like the idea that characters with dragon blood like Shao Khan and Onaga have power mimicry without the need for soul magic.
As you were talking, I was already coming up with ideas on making Mokap an Elder God, then I got to the four scenarios part of the video, laughed out loud, and punched Elder God in the poll. I think Mokap being an Elder God would be interesting. Not a Loki, but an Odin. He's here to learn, to gain knowledge, not from on high, but from across the room. When he learns of new kombatants, he weaves their way into their inner circle. He's not here to lead or judge. If he was, he would of taken the form of someone more respectable than a jester. He's not here to manipulate or deceive, but to gather evidence and evaluate psyches, to ensure that, when the Elder Gods judge, the God of Knowledge is the most informed. As for his copycat powers, *aggressively points to your Reptile and (C/K)hameleons video* the Elder Gods do take the form of dragons.

@@CynicalWarlock Understood. You actually used the other voices 👍.(The let's play a game sounded like joker or maybe it's just me) I see you used my molock "no" lock joke on mocap(if it wasn't from me, don't tell me, lemme delude myself). Would be interesting if mocap is responsible for giving SHAO KAHN help when poisoning onaga, or in conquering some realms and then he also helped Liu get his head straight when Kung lao dies(not that I want him too, really this applies to any incident). And then he even helped Raiden.(I swear I thought of this before you brought something like it up) Like he just enters and drops the most profoundly helpful advice (master oogway style and leaves). The copying combo thing would be better than copying special moves where the damage is still the same, but with combos it would look awesome and for combos where special abilities are used, he could still copy little ones like scorp's spear/kunai/harpoon coming out for a second or little fire attack, fire punch. I already answered, go check the poll.
My "Kombat" Theory Mokap is just another average Eldtrich being who's not on the level of an Elder God, but probably came from a time where they weren't big shot rulers. Lording over the comatose carcass of their "natural" predator after they invented "Kosmic Knives" (The Kamidogu). Without a doubt he isn't a big fan. Probably involving a cosmic balance that existed before the Konquest of the Elder Gods. Involving himself in the endeavors of the realms to restore said balance. But not to reunite the One Being, poor things too damaged in SO many ways. No... He wants to help it's children ascend (The "Mortals" in Mortal Kombat). Which means Mokap would have to keep the "Elderly Gods" off his back. Helping Shinnok a bit, bullying Centrion, or getting in a slap fight with "Goth Raiden." While aiding his "peers" helping those who're like him, or at least individuals who've evolved to HIS level. Further the dawn of a new "SCALY" society. Even in his current and most fitting guise as a actors double. Mokap ain't no one's god, nor a snake, but he's certainly "Dragon," and dragons are "Khimeras"(Chimeras).
And what I mean by Chimeras, I mean as a amalgamation of other creatures. Which dragons are like in most interpretation. Hair, wings, horns, and whatever attached to a snake-like body. Which the One Being was probably like. Absorbing creatures like the Elder Gods to gain unique traits... Until the predators weak prey invented Kosmic firearms, and put down the One Being in a coma. Where it's "friends" (fellow bigger dragons) watched in horror as it was brutally defiled enough. It's copse, which was an ecosystem in itself, was made into actual ecosystems. Doomed to either constant entropy, or meddling from the Elder Bums.
@@scourgeanimations444 You intersected with my version of events quite a few times, actually. Very cool lore. I like the Chimera concept, for the draconids and the One Being. Now that I think about it, there's a lot of crossover between chimeras and dragons, in folklore and mythology.
Mokap is a godlike being who comes from another universe, a universe where other such beings like him live meager lives and seek to escape from their toils through the creation and enjoyment of other universes. They can tear open windows through time and space to watch their favorite mortals do battle with evil, or they could push their influence across the fabric of reality into the very souls of their favorite heroes. Earth realm and Outworld are very popular for these beings to play with. But chief among all the influence of these beings is Mokap, as he is the only one amongst them to have the "code" to this universe and so have specific powers of influence that no other being does.
I think Meat also has potential to be great as a true body horror character. Havik's cool and all, but I feel like they could push it much farther (like, the poor experiments in Shang Tsung's Flesh Pits are actual nightmare fuel, let us have that as a fighter).
Yeah, that's exactly how I talk about Meat in the 'how to improve every character' video - just this twisted-looking, sickening creature, that skulks about and sometimes butts into the story, by way of a jump scare, kills something, then fucks off.
I think he's an agent from a different plain of existence to carry out some kind of will, and that he was projected into multiple places at once to further his efficiency, explaining how everyone knows him. Assuming this is true his nonchalant attitude and unexplained motives could be because it's just a normal tuesday for him and it wouldn't be worth the energy. Either that or he's just built different lmao
I’ve said mokap, could be awesome if his move set was all for different things he motion-captured for. For example: if he does a special move launcher it’s him overlaying a holographic gorilla over him as he slams you on the ground and bounce you up
As a kid when I first saw this guy, I thought he was some electric dude using them balls all around him to conduct energy lmao That's certainly a possibility if they ever brought him back
I left a comment on your poll but wouldn't it be funny as hel if Mokap is THE Mokujin for MK? Just always has a different chatacter fighting style every round?
Gameplay wise what you could do with Mokap make it similar Shang Tsung where doing a motion gives you a character's moveset but instead of the whole moveset you get one move feom the character. Let's say you have like 3 slots. You do the motion for mileena once you get sai toss. You do it twice you get ball roll. You do it 3 times you get telekick. Oh and it's round permanent. But of course you don't have to do mileena thrice. For the second one maybe you do Jax's motion and you get ground pound, and for the third you do Sheeva's motion and get her stomp move. And maybe they don't all have to be characters that are in the game. Maybe characters from other MK game, maybe some are those pesky guest characters that cant be in the game anymore. You don't have to directly name them and hey anyone can spit acid. The point is if you play your cards right you can have a character with a fusion of moves from other characters in a way that's unique.
Totally unrelated question: If you were in the MK universe what character(s) would be the best personification of who you are. It doesn't have to be your favourite character but out of all of them, which one would you be. I mean I'm a Sindel loyalist, but honestly, I feel if I were in MK I would be either be Kitana or Jade.
He is the entropy. The very power of chaos and decay you outlined in your Havik video, a force completely seperate from any realm, god, titan or anything else. A being that just exists everywhere, knows everything and carefully keeps the whole world on the steady path to self destruction. He could even be some sort of a remnant after the one being, perhaps the remaining bits and pieces of its conciousness and whether he is aware of this or not would be up for debate or - and I think that it would be even more interesting - he could very much be a something... other. Not a part of this world. Not a fragment of the one being but also not an elder god. This one puzzle that doesn't fit and whose existence itself causes everything around to crumble.
Mokap could be the Deadpool mixed with Taskmaster character. Cannot die, break the fourth wall, use some innuendos, use all weapons, and wears a mask. Otherwise he would just be Shujinko.
Haha this video is really such a funny aprilfools prank trying to make mokap a serious character. So funny infact that you releast it before aprilfools.😂
Mokap is the Tom Bombadill of this world. He's naturally a good guy but doesn't particularly care about the conflicts of others. He's been around as long as the realms, is as powerful as some of its protectors, but he doesn't use it to protect like Raiden or conquer like Shao, he just, does whatever he feels like.
@@CynicalWarlock I mean, we're talking beyond Kronika levels He is Destiny itself, if i may say so. So honestly, if he were depicted in full potential, he would probably be the one being OKAY Im going far on that, gotta take my tinfoil hat off But seriously, considering all moves are mocapped, wouldnt that mean that Mokap is the origin of everything and thus return to what I had said?
@@CynicalWarlock He and a friend were playing NFL Blitz one day, and the friend would say "Toasty!" when he scores a touchdown, and Ed was all like: "PUT IT IN OUR GAME!" "You serious?" "I'm dead serious." It's so fun to see how Ed would take his franchise so seriously, but then there are moments where he would purposefully break the tone. It's beautiful!
Ahhh, mokap... Imo he is basically just a fun tribute character from devs that wanted to capture the persons soul for providing the best fighting stances. I also believe that at that time as well mk was still below mainstream. Compared to then, I don't think well ever truly see him again unless NRS got a new story writer to blow our collective minds and made mokap the one being who breaks the fourth wall by fatality.
Okay, are we gonna talk about REAL joke characters? Characters that were made up and some of them even made it in to the game! And I'm talking about characters like Nimbus Terrafaux, Hornbuckle, Aqua, Pedro, Error Macro, Red Robin, Red Kitana, Khrome and.. who else I don't remember because there were a many of them. And out of all of them only Error Macro and Red Kitana made it in to the game. First one Error Macro who known also now as Ermac and second one, Red Kitana also known now as Skarlet. First one made it to the series back in MK3 days and second one back in MK9 days. Cool, right? As for the rest. Nimbus Terrafaux was a joke in one of the magazines aka journals back in the days, where someone literally photoshoped random dude in to the picture of original MK 1992 game. Hornbuckle was a green version of Liu Kang that can be seen on The Pit 2 stage in Mortal Kombat 2, facing against The Torch that is later known as Blaze. Aqua was rumored cancelled MK Trilogy character, who was a ninja from MK 1992, dressed in black, with Shao Kahn shoulder pads and can use duck noises, similarly to Sindel's scream, stunning the opponent. Red Robin was.. well, according to rumor a fully red version of Scorpion in MK2 that has bugged out sprite colors, same goes for the Red Kitana but we already know that she is a Skarlet in MK9. As for Khrome, back in MKX days Ed Boon himself posted a joke post on social media about new character called Khrome. A ninja, with ability to transform his hands in to stabbing weapons. And everyone believed it until.. well, everyone forgotten because nothing happened and there were no such character released. As for Pedro, he was another fake character back from MK3 days, who looked like Stryker from MK3 but with mustaches and in green shirt instead of blue.
Here I go:- Mokap is, for lack of a better term, a glitch in the system, an anomaly that has been present in the fabric of the MK reality since the very beginning, like, the *very* beginning He is neither good nor evil, neither wanting Armageddon, nor wanting peace, he has no allegiance, no true allies, no mortal enemies His extremely unique nature means he interacts with the MK universe in a manner that is unlike anything anyone's ever done. He seems to be intrinsically tied to the actual fabric of reality itself, able to manipulate it like one would manipulate a limb, thus explaining is abilities, he could rule, enslave, conquer, and perhaps even destroy, but he chooses not to, he's just here, a neutral observer just existing He sees Mortal Kombat and the war between realms as just "kids playing ball on a hot summer afternoon", he thinks of the war between the Elder Gods and the One Being like how we'd think about two drunk middle aged men clumsily brawling at a wedding reception. All of this to him, is just something he's amused by, you could even say that all of this is just...a game...to him To try and define Mokap is futile, no one should define Mokap, Mokap just, is Tldr: Just think Tom Bombadil from LOTR
Hear me out. Make his true identity to be Master Cho from MK Conquest. Master Cho had somehow stayed alive for many centuries, but what was unknown to many, was that he achieved this by draining the life force (not the souls) of others, which is what Master Cho needed to stay alive. To add to it, he can use all natural elements (fire, water etc) and is one of the few people to master move mimicry of other opponents like Shujinko. Make him neutral with a completely different agenda. Who knows he could be Liu's ancestor which I find highly plausible due to their design similarity. In terms of agenda, I think he's looking or planning something but what?
@@alvinmbiyu1686 Referencing MK Konquest gets an insta-like. I like that episode so much, because of this cool character, and because we get to see Shang's backstory. And I actually have been thinking that a character line this would be very compelling in the games.
I would write Mokap as the "antiwriter" a being spawned by the all the hate writers get. As he is the face of all the characters who have ever been killed by their writers... He fights "for the fans" or so he claims as in reality his goals seemly shift and twist and morph unrecognizably any second... He is in awe of anything and everything but never has a straight conversation with anyone just complements and critiques never recognizing anything anyone says... He is known by everyone and no one like a shadow... He has claimed to have never lost a fight so maybe if you meet him one day you'll be able to change that. Which I would give him a secret campaign where you play as him as he fights all the playable characters then make the final boss him and you get to fight him with any playable character in the game you want to even him.
I was thinking he's an unknown God. The God of Mischief. He looks like a total joke but is the 2nd strongest character in the whole universe next to Onaga. He's got a true form that's a grotesque collective of all the MK characters. His true form isnt invoked until Liu Kang defeats Krinoka which resets the timeline again, and he gets pissed off because he IS the embodiment of the timeline itself. Now he wants to punish everyone in the new timeline because all the resets are ruining the universe (which is parallel to killing the fandom). So he intricately has been manipulating characters to line up to his end game as the mega boss, and he actually wins.
I see mokap as a Deadpool character who knows he’s in the game. Possibly able to copy everyone’s moves cause in the real world he’s a huge MK fan.
So basically Gwenpool character.
You're on to something.

I do like the Chaosrealm theory. Would be nice to have more than Havik as a representative.
Here's my suggestion: Mokap is a being from a different universe who witnessed all the events in the mk universes, and now he wants to interact with the people he watched for thousands of years because... He thinks they are cool (He is the ultimate mk loremaster)

@@CoolSaver Can neither confirm nor deny. :D
@stijnvanrobaeys7011 What in the ass.. When did you become a member? Who even does that without being asked? What is *wrong* with you?
Also, thanks.
In my headcanon Mokap is nothing more than a normal guy from Chicago who is unaware of how strong he actually is. Everyone thinks he's a joke, even himself, when really he's a kombat prodigy. And when he's asked about it he humbly goes "I don't know man, I just go to karate class on Tuesdays."
I guess I'm just a fan of the "joke character who is actually crazy strong" trope.
MK's version of One Punch Man.
While this can be true, I feel that it’s a cop out unless there is a explanation that’s cohesive with the in universe lore
If it *is* the writers, then you *definitely* have to not explain him overtly, otherwise it becomes a bit too on the nose.
This is so meta it ends up its own ass. :\

Mokap is the embodiment of.... The one being he merges all fighting style because his goal is to merge the realms
Ok, this is the best one I saw
@CynicalWarlock read this
I was just recently thinking about this and I'm glad you brought up how Onaga would have enlisted multiple agents to do his dirty work for him.
I'll say he's all 4 of those options you listed at once. But he's also like Deadpool. Also love your Tekken appreciation with your usage of Kazuya
Yeah, don't know much about Tekken lore, but Kazuya looks badass. And Mokap lacks any kind of relevant art, so I had to use other stuff.

I'm gonna quote Marathon Infinity's final line from the ending as my answer :
"I know who you are... you are destiny."
Cuz to me here's there to "guide" the characters into events that are supposed to happen, he's there to make sure everything is going as intended and will use his power to make it happen, he's neither good or bad, he's the DM of the MK Universe.

Strong option. The One Being is getting more traction than I thought he would.
Love your content keep up the great work

think the best way to explain him is that he's not a god, zaterran, but some other being who is able to play "Roles" others give him. need him to delay someone, he's skilled enough to go on par with said person. want new recruits, he's all of the sudden willing to join, as if its his lifelong dream. you want someone who can help make a deal with a dragon king, he all the sudden has a good reason for the king to listen to him, with a deal that will prevent another conquest.

Love your Mokap you've made him Gman a time paradox who ensure all the characters and important set pieces are in place and undo much of time fuckery Liu Kang and Kronika has done and he cleans up that mess my takeaway from your mystery.
That's fucking brilliant.
Also love the G-Man comparison.
Solid-ass take. Love the mimic of a mimic idea, and the acronym. Explained the tech pretty well too, and kept some mystery in the air.. Dude, A+.
In a meta way, You can also have Mokap bring back previous moveset iterations of Previous MK games. Like a random dial, that you won't know which moveset your getting. MKX Liu Kang or MK11 Liu Kang
Pfff, that would be absolute lunacy and I love it.

This is a VERY good and interesting theory. That would be a fantastic twist if down right. Trailed with a few breadcrumbs to be sure. 👀
This one gets it.

Player character exposed.

Very strong, plausible option.
And intuition.
My guess is that Mokap is a man lopking for the control of all, seeking to keep all under a singular rule.He desires to forge all of life together, and believes he must persuade larger organisations to start his plan.
"forge all life together" - Sounds like a very One Being thing to do..
Though, that would require a longer chat.
Ok ok warlock let me give it a shot
so for Mokap to running to Keith figures like liu kang, Johnny Cage, and Stryker means he has to have a vast amount of knowledge and experience.
Yeah that was an aha moment for me. Made reptilian video soon as I thought of it.
I dunno what's more impressive - that you like the elder god take, or just how much you figured out.
Almost too smart for your own good.
Almost.
Mokap’s abilities come from the ping pong balls all over his body
Oh shittt.
I thought it was gonna be some time till we get another one.

I see you used my molock "no" lock joke on mocap(if it wasn't from me, don't tell me, lemme delude myself).
My "Kombat" Theory
Mokap is just another average Eldtrich being who's not on the level of an Elder God, but probably came from a time where they weren't big shot rulers.
Helping Shinnok a bit, bullying Centrion, or getting in a slap fight with "Goth Raiden."
While aiding his "peers" helping those who're like him, or at least individuals who've evolved to HIS level.
I’m guessing it’s mokap… or meat
Ayyye!!!!!
Damn it, he knows too much.
He should be a mirror . Character that is always copy of who they are fighting and that should make it fun to play in multiplayer
Yeah that's the idea - copy most of the oppoent's kit, except maybe specials.
Honestly this was a good video
If they borrow ideas from tekken Mokap can be the Mokujin of the mortal Kombat lore
Yeah, I believe another person made that comparison too, and I like it.
I like the way you think.
I always assumed he was partly Tech Based.... That mimics the projectiles etc. that can't be done through physical mimic for human
I’ve said mokap, could be awesome if his move set was all for different things he motion-captured for. For example: if he does a special move launcher it’s him overlaying a holographic gorilla over him as he slams you on the ground and bounce you up
Would be a cool Easter egg, yes.
E, he’s an agent of chaos, bound by no rules, just doing what seems fun at the time
As a kid when I first saw this guy, I thought he was some electric dude using them balls all around him to conduct energy lmao
That's certainly a possibility if they ever brought him back
Yeah, like a walking Christmas tree.
I'm adding mokap to my fan mk story never to be publish
I left a comment on your poll but wouldn't it be funny as hel if Mokap is THE Mokujin for MK? Just always has a different chatacter fighting style every round?
Didn't know about Mokujin, that's hilariously awesome. Yeah, Mokap's the default character rig, before they put any one character's skin on.
Mokap Kronika's baby daddy konfirmed!? Wow i didn't think *that's* where you were going with it!
@@juneberrysaint Good one.
I hope I give somebody that didn't finish the video yet more questions
@@juneberrysaint *So* many questions.
Eh, might talk about that, someday. It's funny cause I recently noticed I left a couple clues in the videos as to who it is, without realizing it.
Now that is an interesting idea. Love how you connected to the force of Entropy idea.
@@CynicalWarlock Thanks, I really appreciate that. And even if it's wrong, it could be used for some good stories I'm pretty sure

@@dannyleo5787 I actually started hoping he gets included as a Kameo, after posting this video, for some reason.
Mr Mxyzptlk kinda character. A being from a higher dimension who likes to come to ours to fuck with us.

Agreeeed. This one gets it.
@CynicalWarlock of course I do. The allure of mystery is powerful. 🥰
@@mightymorphinpowerrangersu4915 It's the thing that obsessed me from day one.
Here I go:-
Mokap is, for lack of a better term, a glitch in the system, an anomaly that has been present in the fabric of the MK reality since the very beginning, like, the *very* beginning
He is neither good nor evil, neither wanting Armageddon, nor wanting peace, he has no allegiance, no true allies, no mortal enemies
His extremely unique nature means he interacts with the MK universe in a manner that is unlike anything anyone's ever done. He seems to be intrinsically tied to the actual fabric of reality itself, able to manipulate it like one would manipulate a limb, thus explaining is abilities, he could rule, enslave, conquer, and perhaps even destroy, but he chooses not to, he's just here, a neutral observer just existing
He sees Mortal Kombat and the war between realms as just "kids playing ball on a hot summer afternoon", he thinks of the war between the Elder Gods and the One Being like how we'd think about two drunk middle aged men clumsily brawling at a wedding reception. All of this to him, is just something he's amused by, you could even say that all of this is just...a game...to him
To try and define Mokap is futile, no one should define Mokap, Mokap just, is
Tldr: Just think Tom Bombadil from LOTR
A most meta character.
Ooooh I like the grotesque amalgamation of the cast bit. That's so freaky, creative, and fitting.
