Easily a decade. The problem is, most that time will overlap with the Wemby Era. Spurs have a ton of picks, they just need to find a top level PF and a top level PG, and maybe Castle is going to be that who knows, and a good bunch of bench players and the Spurs are going to be toying the league.
@@ryanamburgy2791 Yes, but thing is, OKC is incredibly unlikely to have one of their picks turn into a player as good as Wemby, and the Spurs already have. Spurs just need to hit on half their picks the next three years to be dominant, because Wemby is that good.

Great breakdown - should really fund more Viewers! I just learned that due to the fact that 2nd apron teams farest future Draft picks will be frozen to be unreadable for a while. That literally shrinks the amount of total tradable draft picks leaguewide and increases the value of picks a team like the Thunder already posses. The same pick 7 years into the future might be had for a way cheaper price then let’s say 5 years when several teams enter 2nd apron repeater territory. What if the whole Presti Magic behind his pick hoarding is to never let go again of let’s say a top 3 warchest of picks over the next 15-20 years? Presti made clear in his season opening interview that he has no doubt or in other words he expects Silver to have a solution for a smaller team like the Thunder to somehow compete with money printing Icons like the Lakers, who btw are somehow only barely profitable. Only a career altering injury to SGA or one of the core guys like Chet or Dub can convince me that there aren’t glory days down the road for this team. @@fromzero2rirotv694 Even then, top 10 pick wouldn't be that bad considering how deep the draft is. In 2025, we have right to swap picks with rockets/clippers. We also have heat, 76ers, and jazz's (becomes 2026 pick if it falls into the top 10). We basically get clippers' first round picks from 2025 - 2028.
Considering the big extensions in a couple years, would giving Caruso $20 million a year for 4 years be wise? Especially as he’ll be getting further into his 30s.
The Giddey/Caruso trade was idiotic and all of you will find that out very soon. Watch what happens with Hartenstein out for the the first six weeks of the season. Without him to make up the difference in what they're losing going from Giddey to the much less talented Caruso you're going to see the difference.
Giddey definitely has a higher ceiling and is also gonna be a much better player than Caruso no question.. he's just gonna be a much better player in Chicago because he can be utilized the way he's supposed to be played
1 week in and the only difference I see is that OKC is much better defensively than last year. We’ve been playing constant small ball and we’re not getting destroyed on the glass like last year, even without IHart. Getting Caruso has absolutely been worth it, and I’m sure Chicago fans feel the same about Giddey so far. Both teams won this trade.

I agree.. Letting go of Dort or Ihart in a few years will almost be inevitable due to salary cap issues
