Geo Thomas What we are using as a fulcrum in this case is rectangular(tracks) and the load can rotate on a radius, so there are varying levels of stability even if the relationship of the bucket to the center of the radius stays the same. So “over the side” is the least stable position the operator can position his bucket because it is the smallest distance between the fulcrum and the machines center of gravity.
Awful machines... had a 270 kobelco zero tail swing on a job.. no stability in em very noisey awfully slow & horrible for gradeing with they only have one hydraulic pump & carnt cope with the flow.. cheap & nasty machine no one at the company liked driving it they had it from brand new was sold with 700 hours on bout 10months later 🤣...

I worked kobelco sk 220, 235, 235 b now a new 270 good machine pefer it over Hitachi or Komatsu
