A LITTLE ABOUT ME: I'm Dean Wolfe, a mostly self-taught Canadian guitarist/composer/multi-instrumentalist/singer/producer/performer. I started out as a full time musician on the road at age 17 for two years, but went part-time ever since while holding day careers including as a chef and in spiritual health care while raising a family.
I've recorded hundreds of my own songs- many being used in media and award winning documentaries etc. I've been in several bands including a prog/jazz fusion act nFuze, performing in International Jazz festivals and jazz clubs. I abandoned the prog genre more or less back in the 1990s but have returned to it now with vigour a full 30 years later- so much prog I've ignored and quite frankly didn't have any idea about. My own prog band was rejected by record labels as "too progressive' in the late 80s, so i detoured into grunge, pop and alternative instead (then folk and acoustic fingerstyle guitar and ambient electric as well).

Oh DANG! This is my favorite live band Dean. Please do more of them! This albums songs all transition into each other, that's why this starts so abruptly. Try the songs Walls of Jericho, or Kyla Cries Cologne next. They were an amazing band. Cheers Dean!

these guys are absolutely incredible. they know how to tug at your heartstrings while cradling you through a violent landscape of hopeless. there's a reason i've got their Arrows&Anchors record symbol tattooed huge on my forearm. like the other commenters: keep going. Fair to Midland is a shimmering emerald among a sea of diamonds. it's so refreshing.

I'd throw in everything, but aside from that... Tall Tales Taste Like Sour Grapes. Or even Vice/Versa (and there's 3 versions.. IFS, Fables, and a more Jazzy version, they are all really interesting to hear)

Good combination of neo prog and metal with a little Steven Wilson atmospherics. I liked the layering of instruments. Much better than fair to middling (an Americanism--an agriculture grading term).

bloody brilliant...my favorite band of all time, which is saying something since they really only had 3.5 LPs (two, inter.funda.stifle and fables of a mayfly--shared several songs, even if they were different versions). and their first album was NOT STELLAR. ALL the rest, frickin awesome. my favorite songs: granny niblo (inter.funda.stifle) and quince (also IFS) BUT...their most-known song: dance of the manatee (from fables...). catchiest: musical chairs (from the album arrows and anchors, their last album)
literally cannot go wrong with anything from IFS on.
