From his accounts, if true, then one say that looting of national resources started with the PNDC era. Acheampong had no savings account, Amedume took a loan, Yaw Boakye also took a loan, Kotei and Utuka had no savings account, Akuffo had no savings accounts. So what was the corruption they were accused of and killed? Meanwhile, most of the PNDC operatives have become millionaires. Who is more corrupt?
I believe this elder. I say that with heartfelt respect. His story is in line with Captain Budu Koomson’s version of events. He’s not self aggrandising like the other cowards and liars who helped Rawlings kill the senior officers and then heaped all the blame on him.
This testimony is never correct because l was there in the army by then stationed at 1 Battalion of infantry.Rawlings went round all the Battalions to seek our opinions regarding the execution of the Generals. We all said the blood must flow including the universities and Ghanaians in general.
You see, it's high time people become fair in Ghana. This retired soldier was serving in the army directly with the generals so he didn't feel the hardships of the junior officers and also the civil citizenry. After all, he eat what generals ate and drank what they drank in quality. Honestly, I don't believe anything he said in this interview. I can only believe repented insiders of the ARFC and PNDC's story because they were directly in the heat of those days. If this man ever tasted the hardships of those days, when people had to queue just to get yellow-corn kenkey to eat, he wouldn't tell lies in an interview. For me I'll keep saying that if JJ ever shed innocent blood, he wouldn't have died a blessed man! After the coups he stayed in the country. He didn't leave the country because he had a clear conscience. Let's not be ungrateful people!
......and I'm going to quote the exact words of Chairman Kwame Sefa Kayi....." people were shot and killed for less ". Very sad listening from Toronto, Canada 🇨🇦
Sometimes i wonder why you always talk bout this June 4 coup and no one has ever come to talk bout Kwame Nkrumah and the people who over threw him and the organizers ?
massaKwame nkrumah was a tyrant he did things you are not told thats why they gave him the respect of not killing him but was told not to come back, give the soldiers at that time some credit for that, remember the Preventive detention act?, do you know how many families were distroyed by that?, please dont even start with Kwame nkrumah cus he was also as evil.
@yaw Agyen-Frempong l guess those who overthrow him were democrats. Ghanaian are really funny when it come to their recent history. Dr. Nkrumah with his shortcoming was millions times better than those who overthrow his government and make Ghana a laughing stock. As a Guinean and former neighbor of the late president, l saw the stress of exile on the face of that proud man. Les Ghanaian doivent mieux étudié leur histoires communes.
All these waste of human lives for what? Ghana 🇬🇭 is this because of military coups but they end up as looters of Ghana resources. I remember when were ordered to queue up to put our monies in the banks by the pndc, where’s that money? Soldiers don’t rescue a nation they come to loot with guns, those who are calling for military coups don’t know what civilians suffered. Has Ghanaians checked about our neighbouring countries recent coups? How’s those countries doing now? The wickedness carried out on civilians by soldiers during the pndc era made me hate Ghanaian soldiers to date. Was born and worked in Tema and witnessed a lot from One man Thousand to Nkwatabisa in Tema Ports. How Rawlings was coming to Tema port Terminal 2 in overrall to indoctrinate us to follow him as youths but later turned on the very people. Hmmm some of us know a lot but it’s past. Ghanaians should not ever wish for military take over else the regret as we jubilated and regretted too late.

Several attempts to contact him were not succesful, so Odartey Wellington had to step in and rally the battalions and Recce officers. The boys had the support of a Lt from 5th BN.

Aswear, Otwinoko is the very best interviewer I’ve ever seen.
This has to be one of the best interviews I’ve seen. Thanks for the enlightenment.
Very true 👍
I came here to watch the interview for the third time. Most honest and interesting interview ever. Kindly interview him again.

Rawlings was frightened, pleading ,sometimes crying …
Utuka was a fit and handsome man also very kind.
Odartey Wilmington was also a kind man,
What's with the distracting hammer blows in the background?? Couldn't someone reschedule the home repair for a later time and day?
nice interview ✅🆗
It seems some parts of the story is not clear because major Nagtoma was killed during the 31st December coup but not the June 4th as he is claiming
The guy is a lair....the story does not add up at all. The moderator is not intelligent either... asking leading questions.
@@johanneswilberforceyou are very smart the guy has add his own story

Yes Major Rida said Odartey Wellington didn't want to fight then and said he doesn't want any casualties
Very interesting
Background noise is terrible.!!!

Too much noise in the background.
No subtitles on my side😢
Otwinoko Tv, kindly check on your voice control. It goes on and off and it’s not helping at all. Thanks.
Thank you 🙏

Ungrateful in what way.? He entered military as a poor man but died as a rich man. Military administration is all about selfish interest.
