Some info about our road system:
If the road number is in red background, it means a highway.
If the road number is in blue background, then:
    - one- and two-digit numbers are for first class roads (the best ones)
    - three-digit numbers are for second class roads (the most of the "bigger" roads you saw during your guessing)
    - four- and five-digit numbers are for third class roads (all the small roads, their numbers are not written on the signs most of the time)
The "M" letter in yellow circle means that trucks have to pay toll on the road.

  • @mar3king

The yellow "M" sign stands for 'Mýto' which means toll that trucks need to pay on that road (its all electronic and cars dont pay it.)

    • @breznik1197
      @breznik1197 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      ujc.avcr.cz/jazykova-poradna/dotazy/0003.html

For example, in the second one, all towns were named "nad Sazavou", over the "Sazava" river, which you have to look for southeast of Prague. Or in the third, there is an advertisement, saying something about moravian products, meaning, that the location can only be in the eastern part of the country.

    Hello from the Czech Republic....
that sign on 6:46 told you that it is on Moravia (part of Czech republic) "Kojetice na Moravě" that na means something like Kojetice in Moravia, you also bypassed train station in that speed a second later. The Czech Republic has three major parts (Bohemia Moravia Silesia).
You guessed well that "n.L" that means "above something", in this case, some river and exactly it is "nad Labem."
That M is "mýto" in your language something like a toll.
You did an excellent job man... even for me and I am from Czechia it was hard because it was smaller towns or in some cases almost villages I never heard about. Yes, there were signs with larger towns, but I understand that for you it is placed unknown.
You deserved my deep bow, great job.

Postfix "-ice" is like "-ville". That's why almost every village has it. Not all, but many.

I have some advice for you. Every time you see Nad Labem, it's a town that lies on a river. But sometimes you can see Nové město n. M. This is not a river n. M. abbreviation refers to which part of the Czech Republic the city lies. There are three parts of Bohemia, Moravia, Silesia. Three best ways to find a town or village. 1.follow the road markings and the letters 2. according to the rivers of dam lakes 3. according to the mountainous terrain and the type of environment. And a little help at the end if you see the license plate of the car somewhere. Thus, A denotes Prague, B South Moravian Region, T Moravian-Silesian Region, M Olomouc Region, etc... Check the net to write the names of the regions in the country and the letter on the license plate of the car

Actually in this case Nové Město n. M. refers to the river Metuje in north-east Bohemia - "Nové Město nad Metují". There isn't only one "Nové Město" :)

I'm really surprised how quickly you realized that n./L. meant "nad Labem". But the map kinda screwed you over there because it was showing the German name for the river itself (Elbe instead of Labe) so you didn't make the connection which would allow you to just follow the river until you found the town you were in. But then you found it anyway, so good job. I don't know if I would be able to do better in these rounds with the 3 minute time limit. A lot of those places you ended up in were really small towns/villages I've never heard of despite being Czech.
