Excellent explanation of spiral cut gears. I didn't know what the hype was about. Also great explanation of how energy transfers around an rc car when parts are upgraded to metal.
Thanks Cheddar. Sometimes I think I'm just babbling on and talking about stuff that no one wants to hear but your comment goes to show you that people do care about what I have to say and do appreciate the things I babble on about. Thanks for the comment man 👍💯
great video, going to order them soon for my v1 but im also planning on getting some diff shims. any specific ones you recommend? surprisingly this is the first diff ive blown in 5 years on 6s haha
Your question did not make sense to me (thought the spiral cut diffs ste only for the front diff???) I'm thinking you miss-spelled something. But I think your asking if the spiral cut diffs will fit both front & rear of the E-Revo, and the answer Is YES, the spiral cut gears will work in the front and the rear.
Also I didn't order mine from the traxxas website....I ordered from eBay. And I did some searching and certain brand of spiral cut diffs say they can be used on a 3.3 revo front AND REAR and other brand specify only to use spiral cut gears on the front only (like you said). Another car it says to use spiral cut gears on only the front diff is the nitro rally car.🤷.
Yes I do believe they are better than the stock ones. Make sure your shim your pinion gear and they will last you along time. I'm still running these same gears and this video is quite old.😁🤙👍
They definitely do not strip as easy. I just broke my plastic gear housing on my 1st gen E-Revo and it caused me to chip a tooth on my spiral cut gut gears and I didn't hesitate to order ANOTHER set of these hot racing spiral cut gear sets .
Oh yup sweet cos if they last 2 or 3 times longer I’ll go ahead and order one, just gotta be worth it cos by the time I pay shipping to New Zealand it’ll owe me $100 lol

Any shims should work fine
And yes very surprising that this is the only diff you have ever blown LOL
@@myrclife okay great, thanks for the fast response. subbed!
No prob. Always. Unless I'm busy.😉
Thanks for the sub. Ask me anything anytime.
Which one better between spiral vs straight gear for RC?
My opinion is spiral cut gears are better. There are more teeth engaged at a time versus a straight cut gear. Thanks for watching/commenting.

@@myrclife Traxxas website says to only use the spiral cut gear in the front diff only.....Just wondering why? N that's for a revo 3.3 nitro also
Ok, it did not say that for the E-Revo. Maybe on the revo 3.3 your only supposed use them on the front diff.

@@myrclife Right on thanks
Are they better then the stock ones?? Are they stronger? Have you bashed with them yet?

This is for the Revo 1.0 or 2.0?
The 1st gen E-Revo.
What is the part number for this helical gear and will it fit a revo 1.0
The part number is SRVO1029T
That part number should bring up a hot racing spiral cut gear set when you type it into your Google search engine.
I also added a link in the description of this video. Thanks for the comment xxB3NOxx👍💯
Thanks for the reply mate!! Are these gears worth the xtra money or do they strip just as easy as the stock ones
