I would agree with 100% but from what I've seen Silat and Krav are legit. Not saying you won't die but its the closest you'll get in this type of fighting to survive. I'm a Judoka unless you have a weapon than I'm a professional sprinter.

@@mortgagefinancing5558this video clearly shows how silat defends (accidental kill) from a KNIFE ATTACK,when it comes to guns it will be a diffrent story on a diffrent video with a DIFFRENT technique

This is probably one of the worst knife defense I have seen. Too many steps, basically no one would use a knife like that and add in realism like sudden knife thrusts to the torso in very close range and actual resistance, this would not work.

It's a demonstration. He said in counless other videos that the purpose of the demonstration is to show techniques, to prolong the fight. In real life you won't do that, the first strike, the second or the 3rd strike will probably end the fight allready. If you look at the video, at 1:04, the punch hits the kindney. Tell me how a hard punch into the kidney won't work in real life. Tell me how punching some guy into his kindney for demonstration is any help when he is on the ground or at least holding his side in pain for halth an hour?
Also, you don't need to do this armlock. After hitting the kidney, stretch the arm out (in the video when he holds the arm and says bumm) and then pull into onto his back like police and bouncer do it. You can even break the elbow before doing that.
Also, yes. People do attack in a fence like stabbing motion. That is exactly how I got attacked with a knife more than 10 years ago. He had his guys around me to block me, he pulled the knife out and thrusted forward.

@@mb2776 if you are able to hit there then why not hit the eyes? It’s more effective since most tactics work with sight and one can’t train getting hit in the eyes.

There’s a video where he talks about the history of Silat, basically it was partially based in how their wars were fought. Both sides sprinting at eachother through the jungle and you wouldn’t know when you ran into someone or from what angle you could get attacked, considering that scenario, it’s easier to commit to a massive swing and keep sprinting vs halting mid scenario and doing a prison shank.
