Why is Denmark so rich? Because of the cooperation between government and citizens with the aim to improve the plight of ALL citizens.

Denmark is rich because we have always been better educated than other countries thanks to a priest named Grundtvig and a social responsible royal family to set the tone amongst the higher society. Whenever we had a good idea, but no funds, instead of falling victims of greedy finances, we created small cooperatives. That enabled small farmers to becoming more efficient and profitable. The communities ran their own shops and shared the profits (Brugsen, today COOP) The dairies were also an association of smaller dairy farmers (Today Arla). There are so many more reasons though, but the main thing is: we are not afraid of sharing or asking for help.

Also a interesting thing to note, was the Kanslergadeforlig(Kanslergade Agreement) in January 1933, an agreement between the Socialdemocratic party and the Liberal Party, which saved the danish economy with far-reaching actions on the marked-based economy. This agreement was a victory for the Danish democracy, as this gave social stability, and did so far right and communist groups didnt gain much popularity with the population. The agreement also paved the way for the socialreforms which created the welfare state we have today.
The agreement is still to this day highly regarded historically by in Denmark

Simple answer: We sell insulin and weight loss drugs to the US. It's better than oil my friend.. 😉
Edit: Ok, feel a bit bad now, it was actually a properly informed and well researched video but still, jokes aside - solidarity got us here, well, suffering and the consequent solidarity and a 'never again' mentality.

A reason for our Danish prosperity (compared to others) stems from our education. A priest in the 19th century called Grundtvig, introduced schools for adults of all social levels, making it possible for poor people to become educated and help themselves. The schools still exist and is called "folke højskole" or a "peoples university" in English. That eliminated all illiteracy and brought education to the masses. That again inspired many inventions and social progress.

In connection to ww2 Denmark was highly criticized for their neutrality. The finance minister along with the national bank shipped the Danish gold to Norway before the invasion, so it did not end up in German hand. So that’ll be an economical + on the scale. Iceland was declared independent ( well a union of sorts was broken) for Denmark around the time of the invasion as to avoid it falling in German hands. It clearly did not benefit the Danish economy as a lot of fishing territory was lost. So a - on the economical scale. Most of the Jews in Denmark was warned ( by a leakage in parliament) about the “final solution, and pay a grand fee to Danish fishermen to sail them to Sweden, the night before they were to be assembled and driven to the death camps. So Denmark saved a lot of lives, but had a financial gain here as well. WW2 is really very controversial when it comes to the part Danmark played in it all.

That is a BS statement. Denmark had plenty of food. The issue was not being able to export goods and the amount of unemployed in the cities. While there is stories of 1/3 being unemployed in Copenhagen, it was not 1/3 of the workforce of the nation. It was 1/3 of the workers connected to a specific union. Times were harsch with public soup kitchens in mayor cities, but the idea that Denmark overall starved is completely false.
During ww2 Denmark supplied Germany with 15% of its food. 4000 children from Finland came to Denmark in 1939 to be fed and housed. 32000 tons of food shipped to starving Norway in 1941. 6500 children from the Netherlands arriving in Denmark and tons of food going the other way in 1944 and 45. Denmark shipped many tons of food to wartorn nations after the war. 25000 children from other nations came to Denmark after the war to be "feed up". 250000 Germans was in Denmark in the years during and after ww2.
The notion that Denmark 1 or 2 decades earlier was starving is just plain wrong. The one resource Denmark has is agriculture and so much food, it could use it to feed millions of pigs, cattle and chickens for export.

Denmark was actually not food importing country - BUT by WW1 we where a meat producing country and we could grow enough corn to feed the pigs and cows - and as the import stoped we had to stop feeding the animals to feed the population.

The advantages of paying a lot in tax include that all Danes can send their children to the dentist for free until they turn 18, this also means that 90% of all Danes have good and healthy teeth. After you turn 18, you must pay for your dentist visits yourself, but if you are a pensioner and do not have much money, you can apply for a grant from the state.
You have free education throughout your life and if you are over 18, you can get student money from the state, regardless of which family you come from.
You can go to the doctor for free and go to the hospital for free. You can use the library for free for life.

The strong Unions in Denmark have seen to Rules for all are being applied of a reasonable pay for workers, during Agreements between those needing to have work done and those wanting to do the work! As a fact we haven't even got a Minimum Pay! Ask "McDonalds" or "Ryan Air" if it works? "Tesla" wouldn't have got its feet to the ground in Denmark, making those "lousy built cars"! This is why the Nordic Countries are aways on Top of the yearly UN list of the best places to live, and also why the US comes far down the list!!! And it is much more easy to start a Company in Denmark, by that.

Yes, you talk a lot about Denmark, you have a lot of great values, so you basically don't care, understood in the way that you don't want to defend what you don't want to be a soldier. There are also some parents who forbid their children to be soldiers because you can risk dying from it but it was completely fair for the Dane and victim The young American soldiers in a free Denmark say one thing Damn it I'm so embarrassed to be a Dane

OBS: Denmark is a net exporter of oil and gas from the Danish oil fields in the North Sea. AND Denmark also has a very high production of electricity using renewable energy (70-75% with wind and solar, and still more).

Because of massive planet destruction! Oil and gas production from the Danish part of the North Sea is of great socio-economic significance. Danish society benefits from the tax revenue deriving from North Sea oil and gas production. Danish oil and gas production also contributes positively to Denmark’s balance of payments and trade.
In addition, the Danish society benefits from workplaces generated by the oil and gas sector, both on- and offshore. These jobs have part in creating purchasing power in the Danish society.
    State revenue
The state generates revenue from North Sea activities primarily through taxation and dividends from Nordsøfonden.
The tax revenue from North Sea activities derive from hydrocarbon tax (52 pct.) and corporate income tax (25 pct.).
In addition, the Danish state receives revenue from North Sea activities through Nordsøfonden, which, since 2005, has managed the state’s 20 per cent share of all new licenses. Since 9 July 2012, Nordsøfonden has also managed the state’s 20 per cent share of Dansk Undergrunds Consortium (DUC), whose other partners are TotalEnergies and Noreco.
The total aggregate state revenues from hydrocarbon production in the North Sea in the period 1972-2020 amounted to approx. 544 bn. DKK (discounted by GDP-deflator in 2020-level). The total revenue from 2020 amounted to 0,8 bn. DKK.
And yet, in 10 years Denmark oil reserves end, so why to make some countries look much richer than they really are in the media?
