That arm band on their arms are called "Pra Jiad", they used to be pieces of cloth from their families to remind themselves during the wars. And those Prajiad on Rodtang's arms were from those cloth that they used to wrap the body his gym owner/coach (Known as Kru Oun Jitmuengnon) who passed away years ago..

"Mighty Mouse" Demetrious Johnson (UFC champion who moved to One FC) fought Rodtang in 2022. The fight was under special rules, with rounds 1 and 3 being fought under the Muay Thai ruleset, and rounds 2 and 4 being fought under the ONE MMA ruleset. I won't spoil the outcome, but it's definitely worth of watch and maybe even a reaction if you're a fan of both.

Rodtangs record is 242- 43- 10. Hes only been in OneFC since 2018? and most of his fights were in Thailand. He had his first fight when he was 8. He (most Thai fighters come from very poor families, and its a way for them to help the family- and maybe become a champion for bigger buck. Its life changing for a families son to bring that money home. And now, with OneFC, these guys are finally getting recognized for their skills and the sport, and making money that until recently, no Thai fighters have probably ever even dreamed of earning so much.
Rodtangs antics are his frustration with fighters not engaging and constantly moving and running back. Most of those fights were championship fights, and he wanted a fight.

Sorry for the length of this...Just a fan, been watching Muay Thai for 30+ years. Been to Thailand and seen many fights. From small village festival fights with local kids, the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok- The Colosseum of Muay Thai. I really appreciate the culture of Muay Thai. Its a toned down version of the fighting style used for centuries fighting for their freedoms. Toned down, because too many people were getting seriously hurt in times of peace.
You asked about the armbands. They go along with the headbands they wear before the fights during their prefight dance and blessing.....So. Ohh, there a quote from Iron Man Rodtang at the end I thought was appropriate.
Pra Jiad are the armbands worn on the bicep of Nak Muay (fighters) during bouts. The armbands can have colors related to the fighter Kru (Trainer), gym, or will have some meaning to themselves.
The armbands would be blessed by Buddhist monks ahead of matches along with a Nak Muay’s Mongkon (headband). Pra Jiads must be treated with respect. People cannot step over them nor can these objects touch the ground. Pra Jiad are developed to bring good luck to combatants. The armbands can be worn in matches but not in training.
Upon entering the ring, Nak Muays (fighters) will be wearing a Mongkon on their head and Pra Jiad on their arms. While wearing these, fighters will begin a Wai Kru, which is a Buddhist prayer and dance. Once the Wai Kru is complete, the Mongkon is removed, and the match can begin, fighters are permitted and recommended to keep the Pra Jiad on throughout the entire fight.
The material of Pra Jiad is tr
aditionally made from a piece of fabric from the family of a fighter, such as their mother’s sarong (dress). Today this practice is less common. Typically, Pra Jiad would be made from Hemp or Nylon.
Thai soldiers would traditionally tie a piece of their mother’s sarong (dress) before leaving for battle. It was blessed by Buddhist monks and was to bring good luck to the warrior. This tradition is still active even hundreds of years later.
Similarly, the headpiece Mongkon is found in Buddhist tradition and is linked to Thailand’s warfare. It was worn by soldiers during their prayer sessions and would then be worn into battle. It was blessed and said to bring good luck. This is the same reason it is still used in Muay Thai today. Both the Pra Jiad and the Mongkon are traditional to Buddhism and Thailand. Once blessed, both are considered sacred.
Families took care of their soldier sons and thus the warriors would eventually take care of their families. This is a tradition that also still persists in Muay Thai today. Many young fighters will join Muay Thai as a means of taking care of their family. Superstar Rodtang Jitmuangnon credits his parents as being vital to his combat sports success.
In an interview with ONE Championship, the Muay Thai world champion explained the link between family and Muay Thai. He said:
“My parents worked way harder than I have ever had to. I am indebted to them and want to repay what they did for us growing up. My mom taught me to fight for my life and to have a strong heart … I’m proud of myself for being able to take care of my family at such a young age. Whatever my mom wants to eat, I make sure she has it. Even though our life used to be hard, I’m grateful every day for my parents. I will never forget what they went through for us.”

6:30 In traditional muay thai fights boxing gloves which are slightly different are used ( they are easier to open to alow for clinching and have a kick blocker on the otter palm) , one fc do some muay thai fights with 4 oz mma gloves. Those things they are wearing on their feet and called ankle guards, they dont have any padding they are just to support ur ankle

His fight record is 271-43 according to Sherdog. Who knows how many more fights he's had than that. I think the highlights also demonstrate how little power the manlets at 135lbs have for him to be able to stand in there and take shots without concern, although his record shows he should consider otherwise. But for a guy to fight over 300 times means that he's not suffering damage like guys at higher weight classes for him to continue on like that especially with 43 losses.

That record includes every fight he has ever fought, starting as an 8 year old child, with the vast majority taking place prior to 2013 when he turned pro. His record from that time to now, which is his professional career, is 53-10-1.

When the rules of the sport he participates in is a stand up sport, why would he train to master a ground game? Also, how do you come to the conclusion that his ground game is weak? The only time he has fought in an MMA match was against DJ, who most consider one of the best MMA fighters of all time. Other tan that he has competed exclusively in Muay Thai and Kickboxing, where this no "ground game", so you would never see whether he has skills or not...
