We start the year off in Cape Town, South Africa and the conditions have been delivering. Crazy kite session at MISY CLIFFS with HUGE WAVES and STRONG WIND which made for some massive jumps and the SURFR APP height WORLD RECORD.

Misty cliffs has become such a popular spot. Good to see the sport growing. I remember only seeing a few people hitting this spot growing up that side of the world.

Which kite jumps higher between Evo DLab and rebel Sls?
I’d say the Evo Dlab, but depends a bit on the conditions.

I follow you and when a notification came that you were live in misty cliffs I thought you were gonna go for the WR lol.....how windy was it?
To be honest it wasn’t that crazy. Maybe 40 in the gusts but I’d say an average of 30-35. I felt I could have gone much higher Of the wind was a bit better.

Q: At what age should you no longer consider going pro?
There is no age limit for that. A good example is Gianmaria Cocoluto who started kiting at 18 and is no worldchampion at 29.
It’s all about dedication. Ofcourse the older you are the harder it is but nothing is impossible 💪

What is the best way to travel with your kite Equiment?
Board bag and a soft duffel bag where you can put extra kites in. Choose an airline that allows free sports bags such as Turkish airlines.
Does the evo d-lab jump higher then the normal evo in these conditions?

How did you make more and more Progress? You had always a private teacher in the first year? And how are you making progress now? Are you Filming yourself and then analysing what went wrong?
Why do you and most of your colleagues at duotone (e.g. Andrea) use the normal Dice for doubleloops and not the SLS version of the Dice? Would be great if you anser this. 🤙
There is no SLS version in 6m. We would use it if it existed. But we are working on a specific kite for double loops 💪

Why do you use the 2022 bar mate?
The 2023 bar is much better in terms of how it is built and how it feels. The only reason I use the 2022 is because there is a bigger option. Hopefully for next year we bring back the big trust bar.

Q: can you tell something about evo d lab vs rebel sls in terms of jumping high and starting with kiteloops.
Honestly the Evo Dlab is the best kite I have tried in a long time. It’s so quick and has so much vertical pull just insane. The Rebel SLS is also amazing and it’s probably an easier kite to use and learn new trick on bcs it’s has more bar pressure and feel and also in pulls you less in the loops so maybe easier to progress but the performance of the Evo Dlab is insane.
