Final Abshot Series Match 15.10.23

Final match of the Abshot series.
First frost of Autumn so the air temperature and gentle breeze made it feel cool, but the water was still approx 15'C. Glad I was sat in full sun for the match making it a lovely day all bar the blinding reflection off the water making seeing bites tricky. I started well catching quickly (normally within 20 or so seconds) with a perch a chuck plus the odd small roach for the first hour before it slowed down and then the bites switched off. Last two hours I only had 3-4 small perch for a final weight of 2lb 11oz only to be beaten by Gerry in the swim next to me by an ounce as he caught a 3oz roach on the final whistle.
As far as I know only one small tench was caught and no crucians hence the low weights all round. Congrats to Gerry for winning the match and special thanks to Pete for running the series of matches.
