While I don't know much either, my humble opinion would be discharge speed and health?

Lead acid is less energy dense for starters. You'd need a LOT more batteries to get the same storage capacity. That takes up a lot more space etc.
Lead acid batteries have a low efficiency in the charge-discharge cycle. Only 60% of the charged energy can be extracted from battery.
