Wade in 2008-2009 was a beast arguably the best guard blocker and 2nd best defensive guard ( payton 1st Michael tied at 2) while averaging 30 ppg . Chris Paul Nah, by 2009, I'd say Dwade, Chris Paul, and Lebron were by far the 3 best players on the planet. Kobe was right beneath them coming out of him prime and Dwight was right up their too. Those 3 probably had 3 of the best seasons ever for their position both offensively and defensively in the same year.

Because nothing really supports that. Now, in 2005-06, and 06-07 seasons, Kobe was ridiculous. Should've been an MVP at the very least in 05-06 without a shadow of a doubt. But Chris Paul's 2007-08 and 2008-09 seasons were the best seasons by a point guard since Magic Johnson.

AESTHETICALLY, this was still the best James in my opinion. During the Heat and afterwards, he had the bulked up, used the necessary mobility and had great execution, but pre-Heat James had the fluidity, mobility, agility and dexterity of a slim and quick shooting guard. This James could also get up a little higher and significantly easier than the James from Miami and afterwards, I'd have loved to see this version of LeBron in the dunk contest.

Imagine 2 and a half months later D-Wade became Finals MVP at only 24 years.
In almost all my comments about D-Wade I am mentioning how great he was and that if he hadn't had all his injuries, he would have been in the conversation to be the best player since MJ.
Fortune wasn't on his side. LeBron had his only serious injury in year 16 and was able to recover. Kobe had his only serious injury in year 18 and couldn't regain his former level. D-Wade had several serious injuries after his biggest accomplishment in 2006 when just had his 3rd season (!!!). Maybe it was the wrong decision to play while being injured, but numbers didn't indicate how hurt he really was between offseason 2006 and 2008 before he really got healthy and had his 2 best years individually from 2008 to 2010. He could add 1 more great individual year in year 1 with LeBron and Bosh before he finally started declining.
Without the injuries, D-Wade could have had far more years like 2005-06, 2008-09 and 2009-10. This video is a great example to remind us of these days. His determination, explosiveness, athleticism, fearless tenacity attacking the rim was unique in the league. As the video shows, his jumper before dislocating his shoulder was pretty solid as well.
I know exactly what you’re talking about. As a heat fan I think I watched almost every game he ever played up until he and Lebron ruined it for me and I stupidly stopped watching… I took their battles personally and then him joining like that in my opinion killed the NBA. At that time they had Kobe out west and Lebron and Dwade in the east… I thought it was unfair after they joined powers, then in the 2nd year Wade stopped being aggressive and let Lebron shine….

I was just 10 years old then but these guys made me love the game. Two explosive, high flying athletes who can move and pass like point guards. It looked like no one could really stop them on the drive, their teammates were not the best though.

Does anyone else miss back in the old days of when there was allen iverson, d rose before injuries, prime wade, young LeBron, Kobe, rajon rondo, Kevin Garnett, prime cp3, to where it was crossovers and slam dunks??? Now it's just a 3 point contest nowadays, I definitely don't like it tbh. All of the other eras were fun and intense to watch (I was a little kid around the time in this video but I still remember some stuff), todays era imo isn't as fun to watch as it used to be, plus it's not even that intense anymore, which sucks but whatever. The lastest great era was when leflop was on Miami and Russ and kd were on the same team along with other teams imo. But yeah
