Redemption isn't necessarily only for getting into Heaven. Blitzie's redemption could look like gaining self confidence and getting a reaffirming relationship, perhaps with Stolas. No need to shift address.
At the end, Verosika realized that Blitzø belongs at the "I Hate Blitzø" party more than anyone. Also, that twist Martha and Mrs. Mayberry ship is wild and I love it.
This episode is the literal definition of being traumatized doesn't excuse hurting others, Blitzø hurt so many and it's crazy how many. I like how Verosika hosted these parties not to shame any of Blitzø's exes, but to reassure them that they're not alone in what they're going through. She was so nice to Stolas the entire night. I fricken love her.
Of course shes not shaming. Shes encouraging people to not move on and suffer with her. She doesnt understand shes causing harm. Maybe even more harm then Blitz. Blitz refused a relationship with her, but she makes sure his exes (if you can even call Denis an ex) dont move on. Shes doing more harm then good.
@@G.D.G. For a lot of people, part of the process of moving on from heartbreak is _catharsis_ -- letting the negative emotions flow without trying to hold them back, in order to just let them go and change direction. That's what Verosika is doing with her annual parties: providing a space where people who've suffered the way she did can find that catharsis and closure, surrounded by people who understand and support them.
@@G.D.G. Quick correction - Blitz and Verosika were _already_ dating when their fallout happened. He didn't refuse a relationship. She let it slip that she loved him, and he panicked and went into self-destruct mode.
What I love about this episode is that the writing could've taken the usual route of not letting the characters communicate one way or another and making the misunderstanding grow even worse. Instead, they're actually talking and expressing their feelings and listening to each other. It's not a groundbreaking discussion to resolve all their issues once and for all. It's a conversation. It's honesty. Something they've never been able to do before. They're both growing and learning so much and I'm so proud of them.
I think you missed it. Verosika always calls Blitzø "Blitzo", this shows that she has no respect for him but after he apologized, she called him "Blitz". This shows that she kinda forgave him, at least a little bit.
keep in mind that Blitx has been told all his life growing up that love was a transactional relationship. Stolas rejecting his "services" (sic) emotionally felt like a rejection of *him*. Oh, the imps, succubi, etc aen't Sinners. They were born in Hell.
Even the very first time he met Stolas (when Stolas' dad bought Blitz from the circus to spend time with his son for his birthday) it was a transactional relationship, so Blitz must've always seen Stolas as the rich prince who buys him for a good time.
Imagine having so many people fall in love with you that you pushed away, and they throw a party dedicated to hating you, and most of them break down and cry at the memory of you, and you still cant seem to get it in your head that people care about you.
Yes. The importest thing is to know yourself and being honest with you and other people... if you don't have / do this, things like this can happen sadly. But yeah.. it can be really hard to aknowledge it. It's really hurting x.x ... I hope Blitz learns to love himself more and do himself real good things, not lies and stuff. This episode was an amazing start into it. He talked more, he realizes the things little by little.
I wouldn't say most of them, we saw what? One or two that cried? And the party includes Dennis, who Blitz had like a few minutes of frunkenly making out with, and Stolas who rented Blitz's red ass with a book. Out of everyone in that party, Verosica is the only one we know who can be pinned down as having actually dated Blitz. There's clearly some additional people there who he at least knows since we heard him make apologies to them, but there's likely a lot of padding in the numbers.
What Blitz says at the start of the episode, 'I'm sorry that I assumed the worse this entire time because I was convinced that a prince could never love someone like me and that I let my self-hatred stop me from apologizing to anyone I care about' is TRUE! Blitz was telling the literal truth right there! There is nobody in Hell who hates Blitz more than himself. He believes that he makes the lives of everyone around him worse because of the circus fire and some other stuff. That one incident resulted in his mother's death, resulted in his best friend suffering life changing injuries, and his own sister hating him. I believe that was the start of his self hatred. In addition it's theorised that what Blitz says at the end of Full Moon, 'You royals think you can do this every time', indicates that Blitz did have a different royal lover in the past, possible his *first* ex, who DID treat him the way he thought Stolas was treating him (just for the royal's own pleasure, just about sex, etc), which could have furthered his self hatred and believe that nobody could ever love him. So basically whenever someone says that they love him, Blitz just freaks out and can't handle it, so he runs, which I think made his self hatred worse. Sorry for the info dump
There’s another theory that after Blitz was sold to Stolas in childhood Cash continued that cycle selling Blitz to royals in his childhood and teen years.
Both of these are good points and @KayRose97, it could be possible that one of those royals did date and use Blitz. I'm just saying that it's a possibility
40:11 - He's considered "Hell-born", so he was born in Hell. He never lived as a human. Whether he'd be able to be redeemed is hard to say. I don't think they can, unlike Ser Pentious who was a mortal human before his death and descent into Hell. But, he would be immune from extermination because he's hell-born and not a sinner.
Vivzie has stated that Hellborn do not possess souls in the traditional way that Sinners do and while that isn’t confirmation, I think that is plenty of evidence that they cannot be “redeemed.”
I don't think he's immune from exterminations, just that the angels wouldn't target him but I'm pretty sure he could still die from angelic weapons, otherwise Striker wouldn't be a threat.
Yeah, they are pardoned from the extermination but we saw Stolas targeted with Carmilla's angelic weapons before. It's the only thing that can kill a royal demon after all.
11:50 YES. FINALLY someone else who really noticed just how much is expressed in Blitzø’s.. well, expression, in this moment. When I first watched this episode I had to pause and rewatch those few seconds because there was just something so RAW about how they animated Blitzø in those frames. I think the fact they added him spitting while yelling helped add to it, almost gave him a more “feral” look for a brief second. Like, that expression is not one of JUST anger, there’s _pain_ in there too. And probably a lot more. Also, side note, I also love Blitzø’s tail just violently lashing behind him- it’s SUCH a good detail. You can clearly see that he’s making an _active effort_ to keep his body language stiff and rigid in an attempt to not give away how he’s feeling, but his tail is the one thing he _can’t_ keep still- and as a result it’s the one thing that gives away just _how much_ this exchange is ACTUALLY affecting him. This sorta thing is exactly why I adore making characters with tails, because it gives you an extra way that you can have them express themselves (whether intentionally or uncontrollably!) and I’m SO glad the HB animators utilize this to their advantage!
18:56 And yes, thats also Brandon. More accurately one of his characters from his sketches, Grandpa. You remember the "try me bitch" meme a few years back? Yeah, its that character.
so what if he's a hellborn? just cause hellborn can't go to heaven doesn't mean that their irredeemable dumbasses, blitz is looking to change the the better,we're seeing his redemption slowly fucking morons, even I can understand that there's different types of redemption
40:53 - "If you wanna change, it starts with...." This is a deliberate red herring in the script to make it believe they were going to do a cross-over song with Hazbin Hotel's "It Start With Sorry". I was about to freak out when she said the line, then it did what was actually said and I was like "You bitch, Vizzie....that's a low blow....well played...you got me."
2:00 in the lore Stolas is known for knowledge of plants and crystals and witchy stuff, but ESPECIALLY knowledgeable in poisonous plants and such, so all the dangerous plants is such a neat nod to that. He’s safe in that garden, but is anyone else? 😊
Can I just pop in and say your videos have really been getting better and better? I've been watching your helluva boss reactions for a while and you seem so much more at ease lately, and you go a lot deeper with your analysis and opinions, I've been loving it so much! Been basically watching for helluva boss but now I'll for sure go check out your other stuff 😊😊
47:29 if you’re curious about how long they’ve been in hell the answer is always lol. Imps and Ars Goetia (aka Blitz and Stolas) are hellborn species. I love your videos so much! Please continue to watch the series as new episodes release!
Love your reactions, as always! I have liked rewatching this with you. Note about the imps: They are not in Hell for a reason, as in they didn't do anything to be sent here. Imps are born in hell and live their entire lives there, barring special permission to access Earth. Hell Hounds, Goetia, and any form of demon we see outside of the Pride Ring were all born in Hell. Sinners, which are humans who died and went to Hell, are secluded to the Pride Ring and cannot access other Rings. That is why I.M.P. office is located in Pride, so sinners can come to them to get revenge on folks still on Earth. Stolas' home is also in Pride. Just some interesting stuff to note.
I love this scene 20:53 bc it implies that all the high ranking demons in the hellaverse have a chance to be summoned like that, like imagine the potential of a story where lucifer gets summoned or Charlie get accidently summoned in his place by a actual cult lol, like those cultists would have no idea what to think after meeting hazbin's lucifer lol
One more pile of thoughts and observations, because *_man_* did I spend a lot of time thinking about this episode afterwards: - Viv and the team released a trailer for the second half of Season 2 ahead of Episode 8's release, which includes the rough release dates for the upcoming episodes. Might be worth a look. - The first scene was a roller coaster in itself, as much a mix of steps forward and back as everything else in this episode. Both Blitzø and Stolas did _so_ much better at communicating with one another, and at correcting their own failings in the process -- Stolas was able to express his feelings clearly and stand up for his own boundaries, and even though it took a lot of pushing, Blitzø _actually _*_admitted_*_ to his self-loathing_ and copped to the fact that he's no good at talking things out... but then they both kept falling back into their self-defensive bad habits, Blitzø pushing when he should've backed off and Stolas backing off when he should've pushed, and things boomeranged _right_ back to where they started. It's true what they say: hurt people hurt people. - The 'break-up dynamic' you were talking about actually feels _more_ authentic than most fictional breakups in media. In my own experience, at least, it's more common for both parties to 'take a break', putting their relationship on hold for however long they feel is necessary to figure their shit out -- that's the vibe I got from Stolas in this episode, that he wants Blitzø to step away and leave him alone until they can both say for certain what they want and need from their relationship. (Unfortunately, while Stolas has that level of emotional maturity and self-awareness, Blitzø's not there yet.) - The reveal of Martha and Miss Mayberry was thoroughly unexpected, but a welcome surprise. It might be risky to make paying a visit to IMP's targets a regular fixture of the after-mission routine (Sinners _are,_ after all, _stronger_ than Imps and _much_ harder to kill a second time), but hey, it could be a nice touch if they try it. - Blitzø's repeated attempts to try to find the words to express how sorry he was to Stolas illustrate as clearly as anything how much Blitzø actually _does_ regret what he said and did. It's been discussed before that he's self-taught when it comes to writing, so drafting up apology texts is likely a challenge for him -- but he doesn't go through that kind of hassle for people who aren't worth it to him, and he clearly felt like he needed to do _more_ than just _write_ an apology. Blitzø's going to more trouble to make amends with Stolas than he's done for just about anyone else. - The jack-o-lantern Blitzø ran over was a reference to 'Holidaze', one of Vivienne Medrano's older animation projects. Again, might be worth a watch! - As much as Stolas _really_ doesn't want to be around Blitzø for the time being (and understandably so, honestly), it's pretty clear from his visible discomfort at the overt animosity aimed at Blitzø at the party that _he doesn't _*_hate_*_ Blitzø._ He's _hurt,_ and he wants _space_ and the time to _heal,_ but it's not hard to see that he's still willing to let Blitzø _earn_ another chance. - The costumes and decor at the party are chock-full of jokes and references. I have to give points for the Alex Brightman-inspired Beetlejuice costume, that was an excellent touch. - Blitzø has probably _never_ had as clear a demonstration of how badly he's broken someone's heart as he got by being in the audience for Stolas's song. Stolas was absolutely speaking from the heart, broken as it is, sharing his feelings in a way that he's likely never been able to before -- keeping his eyes closed to keep his anxiety at bay, he was able to help Blitzø see clearly what he really meant to Stolas... and just how _severely_ his actions have messed up Stolas's headspace in a cycle of 'what-ifs' and self-blame (even as Stolas himself was realizing the ways _he'd_ screwed up). For the first time, Blitzø realized how much he'd fucked up, and it _hurt him._ - The liquor-soaked talk between Blitzø and Stolas was *_exactly_* the talk they _needed_ to have the other night, and while it _sucks_ that it's literally a day late and a dollar short, the fact that it was said is a *_major_* first step in both of their journeys to healing. And honestly, Blitzø made some _really good choices:_ he allowed Stolas space, let him take the high ground in the conversation, allowed him to speak without interruption, recognized that Stolas was likely _not_ in the right space for physical contact when he was breaking down (which is *_HUGE,_* and something _so_ many people get wrong!), and when there wasn't anything left to say in the moment, _he let Stolas go._ He's _genuinely improved,_ even if he doesn't _realize_ it yet. - This episode recontextualized a _lot_ of things about Verosika's earlier appearances, but one of the big ones might be her previous mention of Barb, Blitzø's sister. We know they crossed paths in the rehab center, and it seems likely they'd each find out about the other's experience with Blitzø (Barb has the same mark on her forehead that her brother does, and Verosika had his name tattooed on her upper arm); the two of them bonding over the pain they've experienced thanks to Blitzø might've given Verosika the idea to host these parties to help other people he's hurt, and even if Barb's not attending this year's event, it's worth noting that Verosika's wearing her modified mark in her outfit (the emblem on her left leg is the same crossed-out version of the symbol on Barb's forehead). Visual shout-outs to kindred spirits seem like her style, considering she chose to _modify_ the tattoo rather than _remove_ it -- anybody who realizes what it means is probably someone who could use an invite to the next party. - Blitzø's talk with Verosika was the best way to cap off this episode. The party being a form of group therapy, Blitzø's admission that he _realizes_ he's screwed up, is _genuinely_ sorry for it and _wants_ to be better, Verosika giving him unironically good relationship advice despite everything he's put her through (and calling him 'Blitzø' for the first time) before giving him an 'eat your heart out' slice of cake and heading off to start a song about how, even if she's not over what happened between them, she's gotten over _him..._ as bittersweet as the ending was, it's a perfect denouement.
For the moment, at least, I do think Stolas and Blitzø's relationship is over -- _and that's _*_good._* Their original relationship was built on an unsustainable transactional dynamic, one that _needed_ to be ended in order for them to build the kind of equitable, mutually-supportive relationship that Stolas _wants_ and Blitzø _needs._ For _now,_ though, they need to take a break from each other. Stolas was hurt badly by Blitzø's words and actions over the last two episodes, and he needs the time and space to _heal_ from that, as well as to really figure out what he _wants_ from a relationship -- he still doesn't have enough experience with relationships to truly _understand_ his own desires, though he's making strides there; Blitzø, meanwhile, needs to introspect about what he needs to do to be better and recognize the importance of the relationship between himself and Stolas -- Verosika kinda hit the nail on the head when she handed Blitzø the 'heart' of his cake effigy, effectively telling him to 'eat his heart out' (a phrase meaning to pine for something desired but lost or unattainable). Once they've both taken the time to figure their own mess out a little more, they'll be in a better position to reach a place of understanding and mutual support the next time they meet. They can still make this work -- just not right _now._
Don't forget that Blitz was literally sold as a child, for a day, to Stolas' dad to be his friend. That's probably a major reason why he sees Stolas as just another royal who treats people like they're nothing.
If nothing else, this episode shows how charismatic and attractive Blitz is by hellborn standards. He can pull anyone from any class. But also that some of them are melodramatic. Example: Dennis. Dennis was a guy Blitz made out with at a party one time while trashed. If half the people here are similar, it's completely petty. If there are more like Stolas and Verosika, that's different, but I feel like most were just one night stands at most.
I'm still of the mind that we are seeing the effects of Stolas being out of his medicine and potentially in withdrawal at least until the first part of this episode
He's a Prince in the Ars Goetia. If he needed more meds, he could have so easily gotten them. Belfagor only keeps party drugs away from B. The upper class hellborn just pop down to Sloth and grab them.
Don’t forget. Blitzø didn’t just leave her after she said that. He literally ran away with her credit cards, leaving her stranded with a hotel bill, and traveled three rings away, where he maxed out said credit cards on horseriding lessons.
Okay I haven’t said anything thought this WHOLE series, because I thought someone would sooner or later, but somehow it still keeps getting missed? Blitzø and the rest of the main cast (aside from the clients of I.M.P.) are all “Hellborn.” They are races that are born, live, and die in Hell, never lived on Earth, and don’t get to go to Heaven in any circumstances. None of them are there for any reason more than like why I was born in Ohio. Like Millie was an example that you kept bringing up as to wondering why she was in Hell, but it’s because her family is there, because she is an Imp. Therefore people do not have the context of a bad life on Earth to explain bad behavior in Hell. It’s only as bad as they choose to make it, so Blitzø SHOULD be held to a higher standard. Hope that clears some stuff up. Love your reactions. I’m glad I wasn’t the only one who thought that sailor dressed Incubus was shooting the slickest pick up line I ever heard, because that’s how I immediately read it, too.
I’m pretty sure some people at this party really are just bitter or wanted an excuse to have a party. I mean, Blitz apparently insulted someone’s sister on her wedding, because he apologized for it? And like, it’s Hell. It’s probably very normal for a stranger to insult you or your family members. But you don’t see parties dedicated to hating everyone who hurt you, and then you see this one party about hating Blitz, and of course you go. He apologized for f*cking someone’s mom, but like, who cares? Did this person really visit this hate-party because they turned out to be a child of the person Blitz slept with? Were they friends with Blitz or something? Exes as well? (Because I assume not everyone here is an ex of Blitz, take Dennis for example). And surely Dennis. Not sure if everyone remembers, not a lot of reaction channels I’ve seen remembered him, but he first met Blitz (Because Blitz didn’t even know his name) at the party in the last episode of season one with Queen Bee, when Loona went to the party and all. He was literally just kidding with Blitz, and then Blitz said “I’m not f*cking a Dennis” and was rude because he didn’t like the name, and moved his hands to “push away” Dennis (He didn’t really even pushed him). And like, yeah, that’s sh*tty, because rude to someone just because of the name, that’s dumb. But to be fair, it’s Hell, not that surprising, AND they both were drunk. Dennis didn’t seem to be very drunk, he was able to speak normally and all, but Blitz was DRUNK AS HECK, he was WASTED. So Dennis apparently visited a party devoted to hating Blitz because… Blitz rudely didn’t agree to sleep with him after kissing while being extremely drunk? Yeah, Dennis, buddy, I don’t think it’s a very valid reason, but yeah okay, party is a party, I get it. What I’m saying, is that Blitz probably didn’t exactly “ruin” the lives of EVERYONE on this party, and not everyone were his ex, and there probably were some bitter and petty demons, or the ones who just wanted an excuse to visit a party. Especially freaking Dennis
the way I see it is a friends with benefits type relationship, where it started off as that but then one of them wanted for them to actually be together type thing. Best way I can describe it. As far as the wanting to earn the 'gift' I can understand that. As someone who has been given a lot of 'gifts' those people would then turn around and tell me I had to earn it or pay them back, and when i didn't I became the bad guy.
Blitz didn't die, he was born in Hell, like the entire Goetia family, all the imps, succubi, deadly sins, hellhounds and all sorts of similar creatures
anyone gonna tell him that imps are hellborn, aka blitz, milly, moxie, all were born in hell, they never died. same for the cherubs, they are heaven born.
If you're interested, a youtube channel called Sarcastic Chorus has some really interesting breakdowns on this episode and the last one that really put Blitz's perspective into, well, perspective. I highly recommend giving those videos a watch, if that sounds like something you'd like!
I dont know if this has been said, but keep in mind that Verosika is a Succubus. a female sex demon. so she was hurt more than most by Blitz. she, a demon who was born to seduce and lay men, actually fell for someone like Blitz (let herself be vulnerable to the point she actually told blitz she loves him)...only for Blitz to up and basically abandon her with her now open feelings. Yea, its understandable why she has such intense anger toward him
So, the idea for Stolas to get the Asmodian Crystal was to undo what was originally from season 1, Quid-pro-quo Sexual harassment. Their entire relationship is rooted entirely on power play on Stolas' part. Even though he had feelings for Blitz-O from the start, he inappropriately used his leverage as one with power to exploit a sexual relationship out of him.
While Blitz was perfectly fine with this arrangement, once Stolas had feelings for him, he couldn't in good conscience continue the relationship as it is because his power play distorts his perception of whether or not his power is why Blitz is with him, or if it truly is love for him.
And what makes it all so tragic is how inevitable this fallout/misunderstanding was. There's so much personal trauma and false perceptions (Stolas seeing Blitz as confident and unshakable, Blitz seeing himself as unlovable and Stolas as unharmable) involved that communication alone couldn't have prevented it.
A few points, Blitz straight up SAd (he gave consent after Blitz bit him, not before) Stolas the first time. Stolas tries to back away and Blitz had just said that he kills people for a living now. It is not Stolas fault that it started the way it did. Blitz also does the same thing. He has been following Mox and Millie, stalking them, making inappropriate jokes, masturbated to them (which means that he probably isn't joking with the inappropriate comments) and literally watched them doing it without their consent. Blitz does the power thing all the time by doing this to his employees. They are literally hired by him. Moxie has no family to turn to ask for money and is the laughing stock in the group. He needs his job.
I don't think I ever noticed this even after watching this episode several tines, the annoying kid is on blitz's list, the annoying kid from the pilot episode? you mean he's in hell somewhere? damn,I wish we got to see his design, that is so funny though XD blitz, you don't need to apologize to that kid,he had it coming to him,the fucking brat
You are now officially caught up with the main episodes of the show, all that's left is the two shorts. 2:40 It's not THAT weird when you consider his past and, to quote Husker, the gruesome ways in which he's damaged 6:41 Wait...do you not remember Verosika? 13:01 SO CLOSE! 16:12 I feel like this was a huge nod to the shipping community who has shipped those two since day one 18:54 The old man? IT's one of Brandon's characters 21:59 That's the thing, Blitzo lives rent free in all of these people's heads. They haven't moved on at all 22:53 Shameless product placement GO! 24:05 Banger incoming 24:17 So here's one thing that bothers me. This party is supposed to be for Blitzo's exes, so what the fuck is Vortex doing here? I get that he's Verosika's bodyguard but she shouldn't need one in this situation. 27:19 Correct. You didn't notice it when she first showed up in season 1? 28:44 Beelzebub? Why would she be here, she's not one of Blitzo's exes 30:59 Exactly! All these people, they still care in one way or another 33:31 100% this 37:46 Yeah, except he is wrong. Look at Millie and Moxxie. They're in hell, same situation as Blitzo and they're the most wholesome couple ever. 41:15 And thus Blitzo realizes that the one person that belongs in this party more than anyone is him. Because no one hates Blitzo more than Blitzo. I don't know if his relationship with Stolas will ever recover but if it doesn't?At least I hope they remain friends.
Great video as always 🩷 Also, would you consider maybe reacting to something like the owl house/ gravity falls/ over the garden wall/ nimona/ she ra (2018 version) etc
The thing about Blitzo is that he never says what he means. He feels vulnerable when he's sincere, including to himself, and he can't handle being vulnerable... even to himself. He hates himself (Episode "Oops" implies he blames himself for the fire that maimed Fizz and [probably] killed his mom, and it spiraled from there), and thus he basically sees himself as unlovable. On top of that, his primary defense mechanism is aggression (Don't be vulnerable, FIGHT BACK!), and that only exacerbates the problem. In the first scene, "I want to earn my way to Earth" is Blitzo BS for "I need a reason to justify seeing you, because I don't understand why else you'd want to." Even if Blitzo doesn't know it's BS, he compartmentalizes rather than face that fear. (Yes, Stolas said he wanted Blitzo to stay, but that's the thing... words are cheap to someone with this level of self-hatred. Blitzo straight-up *doesn't believe that's possible*) It's why the few moments of sincerity you see from Blitzo are SO important, such as the latter half of this episode. It takes knock after knock to his defenses to get him to the point where he can't fight or make excuses anymore. And then, when he finally has to face all the stuff he's bottled up and denied, it's painful and MESSY. See: his absolute acid trip in Truth Seekers (compared to Mox's tidy Phantom-of-the-Self-Reflection sequence). I saw this comment once, and it stuck: "First time through the series, you're Team Stolas. Second time through, you're rooting for Blitzo." It fits, because it takes understanding Blitzo as a whole, having put in the time with him, to start understanding all the breadcrumbs leading there early on.
28:40 "I'm surprised that Queen Bee isn't here." She catered the event. There's a note from her on one of the craft services tables, next to the cake, that says "Have fun !!!" Y'know, I used to wonder whether the Sins were confined to their specific domains or could visit other rings of Hell ("Mammon's Magnificent Musical Mid-Season Special" answered that question), but now I'm contemplating whether they can leave Hell itself.
It's funny you mentioned that Bee wasn't there. If you looked closely in the scene where Verosika says she likes to start at the neck, you can see a note from Bee, saying, "Have Fun!" Suggesting she's in full support of Verosika's party, providing the booze, most likely. Also, imps, succubi/incubi, hellhounds, candleheads, fish demons, loan sharks, the Goetia, etc. are all "Hellborn." They were born in Hell, they aren't sinners. Sinners are only allowed in the ring of Pride (where I.M.P.'s office is), while the Hellborn can traverse all of the rings.
18:37 The pumpkin is actually a nod to the Vivzie animation Holidaze When it comes to songs it's probably a bit complicated. Some of the songs get cut down for the episode, like You Will Be Okay and Klown Bitch, but the episodes also have pretty flexible run times.
I only just now thought of the SYMBOLISM of Verosika giving Blitz the heart from the Blitzo-cake, giving him his own heart. Like, he is heartless, but what she said here got thru to him a little - it gave him some heart back.
Great reaction!! Might watch the 2 Helluva Shorts next, but I did hear the 3rd one is coming out soon. However the last 3 episodes of the 2nd season come out October, November, December. I believe there will only be 4 seasons of Helluva Boss. The old human guy is one of Brandon Rogers’ characters called Grandpa. Yes he does voice him. Tex is also the voice actor for Asmodeus (Ozzie). Though he was in this episode as Verosika’s bodyguard, I do think they wanted his vocals in the song that Stolas sings. I also agree that they should separate so that when together again they can strengthen their relationship. But I don’t like seeing the passion that Stolas had for Blitzø to die down.
At the Blitzø cake cutting scene, in the background there is a note by Queen Bee for Verosika. Queen Bee supplied the alcohol for her party since Queen Bee is dating Verosika's bodyguard, Tex
Well plus Fizz and Blitz don’t have a major power dynamic (that Blitz is also *super* insecure about, and stolas did call him his “impish little plaything/has been treating him just sexually for 99% of their relationship), Blitz and Fizz are both imps (and from the same financial/social class) but Stolas is a prince with powers. I mean… I can really see where Blitz is coming from. I think mainly he’s super hurt that Stolas hasn’t communicated his actual feelings sooner, and been way less sexual. Which is a miscommunication back from when they got together sexually as adults This has been Hell Therapy with your host, Xavier 🎉 Edit: the full version of Verosika’s song (Over U) is out and it is an absolutely re-playable banger
35:30 Hellborn goat demons (aside from charlie) are called Baphomets and now that you reached the end of the series (for now) here is the info we know about the hellborn demon races: You already know about Imps and Hellhounds, but: Succubus/Succubi: Often are taller than an imp, have usually pink or red skin, non-colored horns and usually has wings. The demons of Lust and are a higher tier demons of hell than an imp or hellhound are, but still low on the totempole so to speak. Baphomets: Goat demons who almost always have a candle on their head. we don't know much about them other than it being heavily theorized that they might be the native demon of Sloth. Unnamed Shark Demons: This demon race has never been named yet, fans call them Loan Sharks, but that's not an official name. They appear to be one of the main demon races of Greed and take influence from any shark species. Possessors: Possessors is a confirmed hellborn demon type, and it's **HEAVILY** believed, but not yet confirmed, that the Possessors are the other fish and sealife-inspired demon we see often in the background (Glitz and Glam from the Mammon episode are believed to be possessors as well.). The sharks and Possessors are confirmed to be two different species entirely, as one of Crimson's mafia members is clearly a shark demon, but was also confirmed to be a hybrid of a Possessor as well, she happens to have similar qualities to a lot of fish demons we've seen, which is why fans believe those to be Possessors. The demons of the Ars Goetia are unique, mostly because they are based on actual mythology, mostly from the lesser key of Solomon/Dictionairre infernal/The Ars Goetia, rather than the standard demon races. The Spider like shopkeeper from the last episode is also currently a total mystery, we can assume the candle shopkeeper was some kind of hybrid with said spider demon though. Seemingly every hellborn species can mix with and create hybrids with each other, we've yet to see a Goetia demon hybrid or a Hellhound hybrid however...
37:59 THANK YOU. HOLY SHIT Ive been waiting for someone to say this. People like Dennis are in the party. They just kissed at Bee's. Hes not an ex, hes a quick hookup. Its safe to say that mostly likely the bulk of people here are just hookups that expected more. Thats not Blitz's issue. Yeah, its an ego boost that everyone falls in love with him (which means hes a great lover), but also - no one owes you a relationship. If someone pops the question of do you want to date me? You are allowed to say no. He said no to Verosika and she does all of this? I get it if shed do it because hes a thief that maxxed out hed cards, but thats not why shes doing it. She got rejected and even in the song she admits "I always get what ever I want, I wanted you." She didnt get what she wanted. Blitz rejected her (which hes allowed to do!) and then continued the hate party where people like Stolas didnt even hate Blitz (he was hurt by the rejection) were encouraged to hate him. Verosika is bitter for no good reason and Blitz is somewhat correct "Im too imp to simp." He moved on, THEY DIDNT. 😂
what I got from this episode is the way how blitz "says" no was the way he hurt so many of those people. he didn't explain or say no, he jumped ship and made them feel like shit as if they've been played with.
It's really interesting cause you can see stolas is trying to get under blitzs skin cause he's doing what everyone who hates bliz does by calling him blitzo instead of blitz and I like that idk why
If we ONLY take into account Verosika's point of view, there is something else to take into account besides how Blitzø left him by abandoning him in a motel, stealing his car and using his credit card to buy horse lessons, you must remember that Verosika is a succubus. She is the one who is used to using others for herself but there, the only time she lowered her sentimental armor to admit to Blitzø that she loved him, he did more than reject her, he destroyed her heart. For me, the line Verosika says to Blitz "Good for him, hope is get laid" is not just for Blitz, it is what she said to herself when Blitz left her. And otherwise, I think Verosika really needs professional help to move on given that their relationship has been over for several years.
A lot of viewers forget this. Versosika's JOB is to keep it only about sex. I wonder of Viv will go as far to show us Blitz dated her BECAUSE he knew no relationship was possible. He felt safe with her because i will stay only about sex. If you look at the party there are many succubis there, theres even randoms like Denis which shouldnt be there in the first place. Even Stolas isnt supposed to be there! It was a transactional relationship. Blitz choses partners that WONT fall in love with him, but the fandom is hell bent that he hes desparate for love. No hes not, if he was he wouldnt go for succubi 😂
@@G.D.G.I don’t disagree, Blitzø is definitely looking for “love” in the wrong places, but I bet in his mind sex is the ONLY thing he views as love, based on his trauma with transactional relationships (father only using him to get things, for any form of “affection” or else) so what else was worth it? Sex at least is a fun time that can make both (all?) feel good. Tho based on the Antarctica short, is Blitzø actually good at sex? Or did he go to succubi because they’re “good” and he didn’t have to do much? Idk, just hypothesizing on that front.
For context of what Blitz did to Verosika, after she told him that she loved him, Blitz ran away, stole her car, took a joyride to the Wrath Ring, maxed out her credit cards to pay for horse riding lessons, and left Verosika to pay for the hotel room they shared.
Hi Mattables, just found your Channel and am loving your reactions! Something to mention though: you mentioned Blitzø being redeemed right as he turns a corner and becomes a better person? Not gonna happen. Blitzø is a *Hellborn Demon,* he has been in Hell since he was born thus isn’t “eligible” to get into Heaven (I have to wonder if Charlie would be allowed because the child of a Fallen Angel is still angelic?) Thanks for the fun reaction Mattables and go hug your furbabies all 💙🐱💙
Their interaction at the beginning of the episode took me by surprise because I thought they would not even speak to each other for a long while; but I also really liked it; somehow, I feel that I was expecting them to act as characters, and instead they acted like _people_. They'll be fine in the end. But there's so much still going on, the feud between Ozzie and Mammon; the way Stolas gave away his grimoire to a common imp - which will surely bite them both in the ass at some point; the pope army raised by the "men in black"; maybe even the fact that Blitzø is now technically under Asmodeus' jurisdiction? Who knows if his twin is legally in possession of her crystal? And then there's Fizz. I wonder if Ozzie will be accused of something because of all of his meddling with these imps lives? Well we'll see, I'm happy we can look forward watching it all unfold together 😄
You said to warn if new episodes come out, so here it is: The last 3 episodes of the main series come out in October, November and December respectively, plus this Saturday we have a new short released
Well Blitz, Verosika, Stolas, those are all FROM hell. They were never human. And Blitz being upfront about how he sucks at relationships isn’t the fix. He needs to recognize that not everyone wants to use him like his father. He has issues/trauma. And he also has to forgive himself for the accident that killed his mom, it was an accident, or at least move on in some way so he doesn’t feel that he isn’t worth some love. Stolas also needs to accept his part in how things went down. Accountability is important, and he was never upfront and honest about his interest & feelings with Blitz until he gave him the crystal. He also didn’t give him enough time to think and process before Stolas just walked away. I hope they do make some progress before next season though.
Important thing to note: Blitz is an imp which is a hellborn species, he didn't die and go to hell because of dating or anything and he can't be redeemed or go to heaven. Only the sinners were humans before.
In case no one mentioned it yet, the gift baskets Blitz was handing out weren't wine, but rather cheese and hot sauce, which apparently is a personal snack of Brandon himself (we saw Blitz eating some at the Harvest Moon Festival, and he's also used "Cheese and Hot Sauce" as an expletive before as well). Also, I don't think ALL the people at the party are Blitz' actual literal exes, since Dennis was also there (who Blitz notably declared he wasn't going to fuck at Bee's party), so I think the invitation was more open to people who are holding a personal grudge against Blitz, and not merely his sexual/relationship exes. It's pretty easy to see who among the partygoers were the ones who were really hurt by him, however.
I think you forgot that Blitz is am imp, so he was born in hell. Therefore he didn't die, went to hell and started his business. Also, because of this he can not go to heaven, even if he becomes a good person 💕 Btw I love your reactions
Looks like you overlooked this, but the effigy of blitz they are burning in the backyard is actually just an IRL picture of the stuffed blitz they sell photoshopped into the video as a easter egg.
33:02 When Blitz was about to comfort Stolas by putting a hand on his shoulder, we can hear "Don't touch the pretty thing" sung by Verosika.
In case no one else mentioned it, Blitz is an imp, and imps are hellborn, not sinners; they never were human and (presumably) can't become winners.
He's been told but his memory isn't the best with some details.
Same for stolas (except for being an imp)
Alright, I wasn't sure if this had been pointed out or not. 😂
Stolas is also hellborn- although I think there's speculation that the original Goetia may have been fallen angels?
Redemption isn't necessarily only for getting into Heaven. Blitzie's redemption could look like gaining self confidence and getting a reaffirming relationship, perhaps with Stolas. No need to shift address.
At the end, Verosika realized that Blitzø belongs at the "I Hate Blitzø" party more than anyone. Also, that twist Martha and Mrs. Mayberry ship is wild and I love it.
Nah
@@unvasodechocomilk nah to what?
This episode is the literal definition of being traumatized doesn't excuse hurting others, Blitzø hurt so many and it's crazy how many. I like how Verosika hosted these parties not to shame any of Blitzø's exes, but to reassure them that they're not alone in what they're going through. She was so nice to Stolas the entire night. I fricken love her.
To sum it up in four words: *Hurt people **_hurt_** people.*
@@Nitrinoxuscatharsis doesn't work. Evidence supports the opposite. The more you practice a feeling, the more it sticks.
@@G.D.G. Quick correction - Blitz and Verosika were _already_ dating when their fallout happened. He didn't refuse a relationship. She let it slip that she loved him, and he panicked and went into self-destruct mode.
Welcome to the 'I'm Now Caught Up, And The Waiting is Torture' Club, Matt!
And to think ghostfuckers won't show shit about stolitz, IT'S PURE TORTURE
28:38 Bee actually catered for the party. You can see her note when Verosika shows Stolas the cake
Not impossible, but I think the You royals was just a generalization.
Not any indication he dated one.
@@The.Original.Phoenix7 Yes, there’s another theory that Andrealphus might be that other royal but I’m not so sure about it.
@@mrfanplIn Hazbin, Adam mentions that hell-born demons are exceptions to the extermination ! So, only human souls can be exterminated.
@@peachcakes5342 Exceptions to extermination, not immune to angelic weapons. Maybe some angel could sometime strike down a hell-born on accident? Idk
Yeah, they are pardoned from the extermination but we saw Stolas targeted with Carmilla's angelic weapons before. It's the only thing that can kill a royal demon after all.
Wild that is this is the first time Blitz has heard Stolas sing
40:06 All the demons in this show are hellborn. They can't be "redeemed" or go to heaven.
Blitz is hellborn. He can’t be redeemed.
Kinda like Charlie for example born in hell
so what if he's a hellborn? just cause hellborn can't go to heaven doesn't mean that their irredeemable dumbasses, blitz is looking to change the the better,we're seeing his redemption slowly fucking morons, even I can understand that there's different types of redemption
Said it before, I'll say it again. Redemption isn't only getting into Heaven. Personal redemption, that's something he can strive towards.
47:31 blitzø is a demon, not a human soul :) he was born in hell; that's why we see him as a kid & teen in backstory episodes
First digital circus and now Helluva boss, you are spoiling us today.
Bro Blitz has never died, he's hellborn. We've been over this
No need to be rude about it...
@@songweretsonwhere was he rude? By stating facts?
One more pile of thoughts and observations, because *_man_* did I spend a lot of time thinking about this episode afterwards:
- Viv and the team released a trailer for the second half of Season 2 ahead of Episode 8's release, which includes the rough release dates for the upcoming episodes.
(Unfortunately, while Stolas has that level of emotional maturity and self-awareness, Blitzø's not there yet.)
- The reveal of Martha and Miss Mayberry was thoroughly unexpected, but a welcome surprise.
For the first time, Blitzø realized how much he'd fucked up, and it _hurt him._
- The liquor-soaked talk between Blitzø and Stolas was *_exactly_* the talk they _needed_ to have the other night, and while it _sucks_ that it's literally a day late and a dollar short, the fact that it was said is a *_major_* first step in both of their journeys to healing.
For the moment, at least, I do think Stolas and Blitzø's relationship is over -- _and that's _*_good._* Their original relationship was built on an unsustainable transactional dynamic, one that _needed_ to be ended in order for them to build the kind of equitable, mutually-supportive relationship that Stolas _wants_ and Blitzø _needs._
For _now,_ though, they need to take a break from each other.
💯
28:51 Also we know that even though Stolas acts like he's done and hates Blitz, he still respects him and calls him Blitz not Blitzo.
Blitz is an imp and imps are hellborn. They were not humans who died and went to hell. They were born in hell. Same with Stolas.
"Baby, I'm not over it, but I'm over you." This is such a good lyric.
17:10 You can see RoboFizz smile in th dark
38:10 they are all born in hell unlike the sinner demons that are sent there
Okay I haven’t said anything thought this WHOLE series, because I thought someone would sooner or later, but somehow it still keeps getting missed?
💯
the way I see it is a friends with benefits type relationship, where it started off as that but then one of them wanted for them to actually be together type thing.
EARLY AGAIN LOL! SO HAPPY YOU DID TWO VIDEOS! I actually love ur videos so much, I found you awhile ago and ur reactions are fun to watch
anyone gonna tell him that imps are hellborn, aka blitz, milly, moxie, all were born in hell, they never died. same for the cherubs, they are heaven born.
Does he understand that these characters (imps, hell hounds, succubi, etc) are hell born? And didn't live as humans before appearing in hell?
FINALLY! THEY SAT DOWN TO TALK! 🤗
13:55: He does! XD
Unfortunately Stolas was quite drunk so may not remember this.
If you're interested, a youtube channel called Sarcastic Chorus has some really interesting breakdowns on this episode and the last one that really put Blitz's perspective into, well, perspective. I highly recommend giving those videos a watch, if that sounds like something you'd like!
Why does dude still think the main cast are humans after watching like 20 episodes?
And Blitz's own trauma, being treated like a thing, being sold and tossed around has heavily jaded against affection.
Blitz isn't a sinner so he wouldn't ever go to heaven no matter what. He was born in hell.
These past two episodes do kinda make me mad because of how much I relate to Blitzø's inability to accept love in relationships 😅
I still love how the one imp who asked Stolas to dance is wearing a shirt that literally says “Better Than Blitzø”
I love your impression at 8:00
It's like an NPC when you spam a negative prompt
You are now officially caught up with the main episodes of the show, all that's left is the two shorts.
2:40 It's not THAT weird when you consider his past and, to quote Husker, the gruesome ways in which he's damaged
6:41 Wait...do you not remember Verosika?
13:01 SO CLOSE!
16:12 I feel like this was a huge nod to the shipping community who has shipped those two since day one
18:54 The old man? IT's one of Brandon's characters
21:59 That's the thing, Blitzo lives rent free in all of these people's heads. They haven't moved on at all
22:53 Shameless product placement GO!
24:05 Banger incoming
24:17 So here's one thing that bothers me.
Why would she be here, she's not one of Blitzo's exes
30:59 Exactly! All these people, they still care in one way or another
33:31 100% this
37:46 Yeah, except he is wrong.
Great video as always 🩷
Also, would you consider maybe reacting to something like the owl house/ gravity falls/ over the garden wall/ nimona/ she ra (2018 version) etc
+1 vote for Nimona! It's a movie, not a series, so it wouldn't be a major time commitment, and it's AWESOME.
Blitzo straight-up *doesn't believe that's possible*)
It's why the few moments of sincerity you see from Blitzo are SO important, such as the latter half of this episode.
Here within 10 minutes! New goal for me! 🤣
ya know, this episode made me really love verosika
28:40 "I'm surprised that Queen Bee isn't here."
She catered the event. There's a note from her on one of the craft services tables, next to the cake, that says "Have fun !!!"
Y'know, I used to wonder whether the Sins were confined to their specific domains or could visit other rings of Hell ("Mammon's Magnificent Musical Mid-Season Special" answered that question), but now I'm contemplating whether they can leave Hell itself.
33:01 "Dont touch that pretty thing" what a timing
You’re awesome. Love you. I’m here early. Gotta be fast. Yay, good job. Show is awesome man and your content 🥹🥰🥰🥰
I always like the detail where when Blitz goes to try and touch Stolas' back when he's crying... that the music is 'dont touch that pretty thing'
Y'know I know the whole episode is about Blitzo growing and stuff, but the only thing on my mind is how BADLY he fumbled Verosika like HOLY SHIT
Love your videos! The next episodes are dropping in October, November and December. Meanwhile we’re getting 3 short until October lol
This episode was SO frustrating but SO good!
18:37 The pumpkin is actually a nod to the Vivzie animation Holidaze
When it comes to songs it's probably a bit complicated.
Yay! Glad you're caught up! Now we all get to wait for Ghostfuckers together! Also, Blitzø's hellborne, so redemption's off the table.
Every episode after episode 1 has a song in one way or another
Mr red flag. Sunburn salamander & now Mattables added in Angry chihuahua, these are now my top 3 favorite accurate descriptions of Blitz.
Dude, you’ve seen what happened last week you’re ready for this
Great reaction!!
The next one should be out tomorrow! 🥳
40:15 hellborn demons such a blitzø actually can't go to heaven! They aren't human souls which means when they die, they die permanently :(
27:29 oh you sweet summer child...
Which is a miscommunication back from when they got together sexually as adults
This has been Hell Therapy with your host, Xavier 🎉
Edit: the full version of Verosika’s song (Over U) is out and it is an absolutely re-playable banger
two episodes in a day? Yippee!
35:30 Hellborn goat demons (aside from charlie) are called Baphomets and now that you reached the end of the series (for now) here is the info we know about the hellborn demon races:
You already know about Imps and Hellhounds, but:
Succubus/Succubi: Often are taller than an imp, have usually pink or red skin, non-colored horns and usually has wings.
47:09 lol The wolf tex is the same voice actor as Asmodeus so yes definitely musically talented😂
It's really interesting cause you can see stolas is trying to get under blitzs skin cause he's doing what everyone who hates bliz does by calling him blitzo instead of blitz and I like that idk why
42:44 Most of the music is written by Sam Haft (from The Living Tombstone). He also writes for Hazbin Hotel!
I dont think blitz can be redeemed since he was born in hell, he's not a sinner. Blitz ending up in heaven would be an interesting turn tho.
"Good for him, hope he gets laid" is one of the best lines I heard of.
Blitzø is a *Hellborn Demon,* he has been in Hell since he was born thus isn’t “eligible” to get into Heaven (I have to wonder if Charlie would be allowed because the child of a Fallen Angel is still angelic?)
Thanks for the fun reaction Mattables and go hug your furbabies all 💙🐱💙
Their interaction at the beginning of the episode took me by surprise because I thought they would not even speak to each other for a long while; but I also really liked it; somehow, I feel that I was expecting them to act as characters, and instead they acted like _people_.
You said to warn if new episodes come out, so here it is:
The last 3 episodes of the main series come out in October, November and December respectively, plus this Saturday we have a new short released
At 47:00 Tex and Ozzy share voice actors. So he is a VERY talented singer! :D
(Note that "that dog" is also the voice of Ozmodias. :D )
35:33 the girl with the tail is dressed as Velma from Scooby Doo, her tail has a Dog Collar with an S tag like Scooby does
I think you forgot that Blitz is am imp, so he was born in hell. Therefore he didn't die, went to hell and started his business. Also, because of this he can not go to heaven, even if he becomes a good person 💕 Btw I love your reactions
The pumpkin Blitz ran over was a character from one of VivziePop's past cartoons (I forgot the name) that didn't take off like Hazbin and Helluva
How did i miss this video for 3 days straight ?!
Looks like you overlooked this, but the effigy of blitz they are burning in the backyard is actually just an IRL picture of the stuffed blitz they sell photoshopped into the video as a easter egg.
