I sold 90% of my holding, locked in £133k gains and added into global ETFs. I like being more diversified and not having an overweight portfolio. I will look to add some more RKLB around spring. It’s my only individual stock and im quite content with it being around 10% of my portfolio. Thanks for all the info as always Dave and shout out to the discord community 🤙🏻
Past 10k now, well done mate. Your videos have helped alot over the last year and more, to keep convidence in rklb. Also been eyeing HIMS. Merry Christmas and Happy house buying. 🎉
Well done on the options... Great overview of RKLB... Bought some more yesterday... Slowly building a stash... almost 600 shares now... up 234% overall on therm, so if they pull back to 15, I'll sell microsoft and amazon and buy more RKLB... Both the former will not double in 12 months but RKLB at 15 will go to 30 in 12 months... I am confident...
I'm a builder good job doing it yourself 💪 been watching your videos for a couple years now. Love your work, insite and passion for RKLB mate ! So great to see
On the Options Trade: Absolutely the correct move. I actually had a very similar position and netted ~$18000 from $1150. Still holding all my shares. Hindsight is 20/20, I personally don't think you should ever allocate more than a few % of your total portfolio to an options play, it's just not worth the risk. Congrats Dave, you deserve it.
I have a contrarian philosophy, I allocate 5-20% of my portfolio to options, 30% max(if there's upside that took up more of my portfolio as a percentage I'll start selling off when it's taking up more than 30% of my portfolio usually. So I hedge by retaining most of my money in fixed income/make back money on moonshot LEAPS. If the markets crash, I only lose my options, no stocks to lose in the first place. It's worked for me so far, but it requires being a bit more active. The main time when this strategy hasn't worked well is of course periods of severe stagnation. Any volatile periods of time for an industry are great for this strategy.
tbf, compared to my income potential my entire portfolio size is small enough that it doesn't scare me too much, I can just top up the amount I lose in options if I needed to, but usually at this point I just play with profits
Love your transparency. Keep us updated on the House hunt. SpaceX is being valued approx $135 a share allegedly. rklab must be fair value @$40 when Neutron blasts off.
I know what you mean. I’m in the same boat. I plan on buying a house in the next 3 to 4 months as well maybe April or May and I’m hoping that the gains I made on rocket lab which was significant is going to help with that purchase.👍🏽
Well done on the options trade. I’m up 400% on the share investment portfolio this last year. Crypto up 3300%. Long term capital investment in shares and retirement fund in Crypto. 😅
I generally only share the positions I talk about in my videos, but I can tell you other than RKLB and Tesla I have $NVDA, $ABNB (haven't been too thrilled with that one) a few others of the Mag 7 then index funds for a "safe" portion.
I had similar options for RKLB, I sold some on the way up, I still kept a few, they were $10 strike Jan 2026 expiry Leaps, bought at 0.55 cents/stock, and some 2025 expiry ones that I bought for a bit more earlier when the stock was higher and there was more time. Some made it to almost 40x at some point, but I didn't cash out of the last few, but most got cashed out, cashed out a bunch at 10-20x range. Ended up covering some past losses on some options plus coming back into the green very very strong
As I can't really justify more shares, my RKLB trades are on the dips only. I sell puts and buy calls, then close them out when I like the green numbers. I'm not interested in selling shares so I won't sell calls for now.
It really depends on your strategy, you can collect premiums by selling puts - ie I could sell someone the right to force me to buy RKLB for $19 on Say Feb 10th - if I were of the opinion RKLB would never drop that low or would be a bargain if it does. Conversely I could buy calls that $RKLB will be above $30 in 2026 - if this occurs then my returns would be greater than just holding the stock but conversely if RKLB were only at $29.99 on that date then I would lose everything. I only go for call options if I think a stock will move really big and am relatively confident on the timeline - something that is very challenging to predict.
Looks like the success of $RKLB's hypersonic launch mission hasn't been reflected yet. I got an email saying success on December 9th. I also think healthy adjustments are good. 😊
Also, btw, at this point those options that you had are essentially pretty close to stocks since they're so in the money. it's basically 100 stocks per option minus $7 per stock, which is 2/3 to 3/4 of a stock * 100 of actual tangible value in the past month ish per option. But I feel the same way, 20x run on options is pretty big, the way I do it lately is I sell some portion of the options as they go up, but keep a smidge to prolly until expiry just for fun, so I've kept 2 of my 10 strike price 2026 expiry calls, I initially had 12 that I slowly let go of a few at a time. and then dumped most of them when they were worth around $12 since that was a 20x ish for me on those. Now I have only 2 left. I also had 12 2025 expiry ones that I got rid of a lot earlier since I decided it was best to keep 2026 ones instead of 2025 ones.
@@daveginvesting Ironically, I think the 2026 expiry ones were bought for half the price of the 2025 ones since I got the 2026 ones later on, and in an even lower dip to double down.
Hi Dave, I'm paying less attention to stock price lately, since i'm only looking to sell 2030 and beyond. I was curious as to what you think mkt cap might be in 2030, considering they keep going as promised? I feel like a 40b MKT CAP would be in place(comparable to 2017 SpaceX) considering they have neutron running, constellation running and providing more space services. 40B would be my base case, which could be way higher out, however seems like a healthy valuation only if they execute as promised(which is still uncertain). Keep up the great videos!
Hey Rick, love the long term mindset but I'd have to do some math on that one and get back to you! I haven't done any projections for that far out but off the top of my head it doesn't seem impossible.
We pay taxes on 50% of taxable gains up until 250k, then it is more. We also all have the option of tax free account - the current total contribution limit into that is something like 90k but any gains inside that account are tax free.
It looks like RKLB could drop to $21. by EOY24 if this happens I will be buying even more RKLB shares as the New Year will be an exciting time for Space exploration Companies like RKLB and SpaceX
Time decay makes buying options dangerous. You can be right about the company and stock but if your timing is not right you lose. With so many stocks going parabolic I'm concerned this market is too frothy. It may continue for some time, but I don't give it past April without a significant correction. Be careful out there and now is not the time for buying options. Maybe selling, I know Vince got burned but he sold them when the stock was still low. But he didn't LOSE money. He lost gain. Selling covered calls is a good hedge now. Bulls and bears make money, pigs get slaughtered.
Here’s a question to consider asking SPB the next time you get to chat with him. Given that the fairings on Electron don’t detach until about 45 seconds after stage separation, is Neutron going to have to deliver the 2nd stage higher up in order to protect the payload? In other words, will stage separation be later because the fairings stay with the first stage?

@@deeptoot1453 same I had decent chunk in options, haven't cashed out yet
RKLB is still a multi-bagger for longs given the many hockey-stick catalysts, despite short term volatility normal for high growth small cap.
$RKLB🚀
I'm a bit late but bought 50 shares for $22.7 each
Rklb will outperform like pltr
Holding both 🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤❤
Bought more shares today. Not stressing. I didn’t expect the price to be above $25 this year.
Thanks!
Thanks!
Congrats on the gains..happy for you. Thanks for the amazing content and transparency 🎉
Thanks, no problem!
I currently have 96 shares @11.41 and planning on buying around $8000 more over the next few months. I’m in it for the long term🚀

keep up the good work

Wow, Crypto is one area I've never gotten too into but nice to hear you've done so well on it!
I'm sitting on a $4.09 dca. Today's drop bothers me none. My $RKLB return has even beaten my Palantir return so far.
Nice avg :)

@@daveginvesting you were the first person I heard from, about Apple buying gsat stocks. Got 300 contracts for 4/17 with a $2.5 strike price.

What scares me the most is Trump's inept "policies".

I do seem to recall that the 1st stage is a bit over-sized compared to usual so this could be correct, might be interesting to confirm though!
