I have a RW heat-defiant wig that I wore daily for about a year. The key is to comb the tangles out several times/ day with a wide-tooth comb, and spray with a leave-in detangler for alternative hair each evening. Every 3 or 4 wears, you need to use a HOT tool under 300 degrees on the ends, which sort of melts away the frizzies! Steam can be used on curlier styles. Trust me, this is KEY to making them last! Before using heat, comb the wig well. Then use a fine-tooth comb on the ends, followed by the flat iron or other hot tool, and watch the curliques and frizzies become smooth again! Works like a charm! In fact, I could still wear my old RW wig if I wanted to, but I’m looking for something different. 😉

One question, if I may for both of you: What if I style it like you did (high messy bun) and leave it styled the whole day either on my head or on a foam stand? Love love love this wig. You know their needs to be a better name than wig. When you say the word "wig" I think about hair that does not look real! Shaded biscuit is your color! this one is great on you. the shade suits you a lot. you wouldn't know these were wigs. It makes sence to have them. salon visits especially colouring costs a fortune so what you spend is quickly recouped. Hair is a hassle and colouring is unpredictable. Wigs have come a long way in recent years. Your reviews are very good. Rachel should employ you to be her UK rep. Her wigs look better on you than they do on her and she looks amazing.
I've been wearing the heat defiant Elizabeth by Jon Renau everyday for going on 8 months now. I get the frizz out using a garment steamer and a comb, then I go back in with the steamer and a small round brush to re-curl the ends that I steamed. It comes out almost like new after steaming the ends. I also wash it using the Jon Renau shampoo and then soak it in Downey fabric softener. I'll probably wear it another month or two and then retire it because I think 9-10 months of daily wear of a synthetic HD wig is sufficient for me.
vwzen81- This is exactly what I've been doing to my Jon Renau regular synthetic wigs for several years. I am just careful to hold the steamer a distance from the fiber. One of the wigs is five years old, one is four, and two are two years old. I learned how to do it from TH-cam videos by Wigs by Patti's Pearls. I ordered three of them from her work on a great sale. It sounds like you might have heard of her, also.
Liz Miller You are correct! I learned how to steam my wig from Patti's videos. Her site is also where I order my wigs from because she always has the best sales during the holidays and well, because I just love her and would prefer to give her my business over a large corporation.
Sharon Fitzgerald I wash my wig in my bathroom sink with the Jon Renau shampoo and cold water, rinse it out and drain the sink. Then I fill the sink back up with more cold water (probably about a gallon of water, give or take), pour in half a capful of Downy (I use Ultra Downy Infusions) and then use my hand to stir the Downy into the water. Then I put my wig in and let it soak for at least 30 minutes but there have been times where I forget it and it soaks for much longer with no problems. After soaking I do rinse the wig quickly with cold water but I don't rinse it as well as I do when rinsing the shampoo out. Comes out very soft and smelling amazing (the Downy Infusions line has some great scents). The scent will linger in the wig for several days and if you don't want/like that I'd suggest using the Ultra Downy Free & Gentle.

I appreciated this review, Nisha. I just bought Spotlight and am really excited to wear t. I think I will get it again in Shaded Biscuit, which would be my best blonde (as a natural brunette). I don't have to wear a wig either, but I love them and have over 75 of them now. I believe using a ceramic flat iron will remedy the tangled ends. I don't worry about it with all these wigs and not wearing them very often. Yay, you have sold me on the color, too! 👩🏻💖
Nisha, this wig is gorgeous on you. I can't stand the matting/tangling of the fibers, so I would not buy this.....but it does looks so adorable on you. I would NEVER know this was a wig!

I am glad you like it. I have never washed my wigs in fabric conditioner, I use Jon Renau wig shampoo and conditioner but I if you are going to do it in a fabric conditioner make sure you diluted it in cold water, you don't need much (never use hot water), it will be fine it will not do it any harm, you will just smell like fresh linen lol😂

Loved this on you. I know nothing about wigs, so I was wondering do all wigs have such a short life span? I would hate to spend such an amount of money for just a few months of wear.
I just don't understand why people have to leave rude comments about the wig videos, Nisha only puts these up on the weekends and we all know it, so don't watch them if they bother you so much.

Yes, this is the most realistic wig yet, really looks like your hair! I had no idea a wig like that might only "last" 3 months with everyday wear!!!

How do you like Belletress wigs? I’ve bought about 26 in the last 8 weeks bc I love their colors & fibers.
Even though they are HD but they are cheaper than Raquel Welch’s wigs.

Took ma a year to decide its what I wanted, VERY glad I did, thank you so very much. so I was just wondering if you ever did wash your HD wig in fabric softener, just curious how it turned out and if its worth trying. please let me know Nisha, thanks so much.
I am glad you like it. I have never washed my wigs in fabric conditioner, I use Jon Renau wig shampoo and conditioner but I if you are going to do it in a fabric conditioner make sure you diluted it in cold water, you don't need much (never use hot water), it will be fine it will not do it any harm, you will just smell like fresh linen lol😂

I wore my wig outside today for the first time, it has a lot of hair strands in my face and I just cant get rid of it, ive watched most of your videos, and have tried things youve said but its just not working well. Maybe im doing something wrong I dont know. any ideas Nisha? What works well or best for you?

A product that might help you with the matting or frizing is called blue Max refresh it has a light silicone base to it

I just don't understand why people have to leave rude comments about the wig videos, Nisha only puts these up on the weekends and we all know it, so don't watch them if they bother you so much.
I completely agree. I just read another comment saying they are awful. Are they blind or what? I never knew there was this many rude negative, nasty people in the world until I started watching TH-cam videos.
I can't believe anyone would say something negative about her. I love watching her reviews better than anyone else. Rude unhappy people.
