- Since the launch of IPL in 2008, the league has taken over the country like a wildfire. There’s not a single doubt that IPL is hugely popular all over the world. As it is with most events associated with profuse amounts of fame and popularity, the IPL also has generated its share of controversy and scandal. A lot of that is weaved around the person that interjected the IPL in India, Lalit Modi.
Lalit Modi is the man who proposed the concept of IPL in India. As we know, IPL has been bringing in a huge amount of revenue and somehow, it also contributed to the country’s economy. This, obviously, helped India to increase its GDP.
But, as we mentioned earlier, it has also been associated with a scam which is popularly known as the Lalit Modi IPL Scam. Yes, he is the one who introduced IPL in India. So, in the video, we have mainly talked about how the scam took place. Lalit Modi did a very good job, however, by providing young players the chance to showcase their talents. But everything is questionable and that’s what we have covered in this video.

Actually Lalit Modi was made target . There were many influential politicians like Sharad Pawar, Arun Jaitley Modi and Amit shah who were getting handsome rewards. Modi was President of Gujarat Cricket Association when idea of Ahmedabad ipl team was floated. For this GCA constructed Motera stadium. He had close ties with them Rajasthan CM Vasundhara Raje. The government is not pursuing his case as Lalit can expose the politicians and business in few minutes. He smartly got all orders all warrant revoked in UK courts.

Icl was actually lalit modi's dream. He contacted kapil dev to start this franchise league in partnership. But bcci got this information and told lalit to stop working with kapil dev and made him the president of this league and changed the name from Icl to ipl. The bcci did this bcoz they wanted to gain all the profits alone and not to share it with cricket celebrities like kapil dev.
