A stark contrast from Hampstead, although these two films were obviously taken at different seasons 😊. I grew up in Forest Gate in the 80's. I forgot how lovely the houses were.
Thanks for posting moved out of Forest Gate in 77 been feeling quite nostalgic about the place and felt I should return for a visit before I die after seeing this the answer is an emphatic no I know it was raining but the place looks so miserable it is not the place I had so many happy memories of for the first 25 years of my life
@@AlwaysWalking-gs8nu it was cleaner wasn’t full of flats and in may sound stupid but it looked quality all the shops look so cheap it’s such a shame it’s now full of rubbish bags and roller shutters just a sign of the times suppose
Did you see those metal bars stuck into the concrete that formed a half oval with a bar across the middle at about the 9:23 mark? Those are for scraping the mud off your boots when London streets were not paved. Probably been there since the 1800's or before. Date moght be wrong but they're old. I saw several.
Your hugely mistaken. These are modern constructs installed for bikes to be locked up to. The iron boot scraping street ware you're referring to were far smaller and more ornate.
Some fine Victorian architecture still blessing this wonderful place. I lived on Windsor Road for many years growing up from the 80s.
good old Forest Gate, i grew up in this area in the early 2000’s, nostalgic as always, thank you for the video Sir
Glad you enjoyed it

It's changed a lot. What was it like in the 70?

Very interesting
❤❤
Trying to remember the place I left in 2006
