Never thought Passion + Hard work would be an addiction!! As I consider myself a creative person surrounded by really talented artists+designers, I always feel the push (that I often describe as "motivation") to be experimenting and doing more of my own creative work. Definitely going to sit with this learning, and be more mindful around BALANCING my effort and time ✨

glad you found that insight helpful! we often like to think of passion as a deviation from the hard work narrative, but can easily just be lost into it if we're not conscious

Another hidden addiction in our society is perfection! It’s a means to an end to “validation.” It’s very blatant with “shallow” attributed, like looks and jobs.. but also in social/political contexts and in progressive circles, we are so afraid of making mistakes that it makes us miserable and frozen in fear. What would you recommend as a “cure”?

great one! agreed its a means to "validation" and a form of being scared to make mistakes so we appear less worthy to others. I would say addressing the roots of why being perfect is essential, then acknowledging that fear and also giving yourself the space and freedom to fix the "mistakes" if they do happen. Sometimes any step is the best step after endless freezing in fear.

Learning to enjoy and appreciate the mundanities of daily life has been something I as well as probably many people struggle with as we are always looking for the next stimulation like a vacation or material item. Loved that you you pointed this out!
