Well, the rock guitar solos seems to be sets of prelearned riffs connected in semi-incidental order. If you want to be a rock star excercise some pentatonics to be fast and precise enough, know the key track is played (do not drink to much!), feel the rhytm and voila! - almost every sound you make will apear to public like virtuoso improvisation. It could be merely set of tricks which occasionaly touches something under the surface of sound. Distortion and some reverberation on your amp will be your friend, it will cover most of your faults, so you do not need to be talented. But do not forget - hair, stylish clothes, chains, skulls, rings - they are obligatory.
