Sadly I don't think there's much to figure, cobras bank angel put the b17 into his blind spot, he was focused more on his position than anyone else's and took his wing off. It can happen to the very best, those old aircraft have terrible visibility, it takes today's pilots a long time to get used to checking blind spots there just not used to dealing with. Thanks to the reporter for the details. A few corrections: at 1:39 the news reporter should have said "at this time it's unknown how many people were on both aircraft.." not "aircrafts". This is horrible, god please give the families of the fallen strength . 🙏
Isn't god just wonderful? Praise the Lord!
Thank you for a responsible presentation accounting this loss to the preservation of history.
So we’re pumping this all over the world before the next of kin have been notified. That’s classic
We saw what happened . Why did it happen ? It looks like the fighter pilot didn't see the bomber .
Very sad to know this
Thorough investigation has to be done and must be reported to avoid such incidents in future.
Condolences to the families who lost their loved ones 🙏🏼
God be with family an friends they left behind
It wasn't a bail P6-3. It was a "BELL" P63.
This is what happened when you design a fighter with car doors.
She has an accent
So tragic. The video shows something went way amiss as both pilots were experienced, but the smaller P-63 plane quickly closed distance and made no avasive maneuvers before the crash. I wonder what the black box in the P-63 offers for information?
Small airplane hit that blindspot as he was above the plane and turning left.
Just tragic!
Terrible tragedy. Thoughts and prayers with all the families affected. God Bless.
Iam so sorry and deverstated to hear this, brings tears to my eyes, being a big fan of both of theirs legendary planes is great loss to see. I pray that the Holy Spirit will be with all the families during this time. God Bless the heroes. 🥺😨😰😭🙌🙏🏴
Try to take solace in the fact that they passed doing something that truly made them happy; brought them joy.
May the victims, their families and loved ones find peace. 🌹
i cant even look at this. i watch alot of air disaster videos but this one is really devastating since ive seen the crew members and ive touch this same exact plane along with it flying above my house multiple times. i just want to lay in bed and cry myself to sleep :(
❤
But you can talk about it and associate yourself with it.
@@deeremeyer1749 its not up to you to judge!
They did what the Germans couldn’t. That in itself is an accomplishment.
Sending love 💖
Did they get vaccinated?
An important question!
“Vaxident”??… “clot shot”!
I once climbed inside the ol' girl (B-17). She was featured in the movie Last Man Club (2016). My heart goes out to the families and friends of the pilots and crew.
Just a matter of time there won’t be any CAF planes left to fly and no pilots to fly them. Just photos. R.I.P. 👍
I was there when it happened. They had just finished the Dolittle raid and they were showing how the fighters escorted the bombers. They were supposed to be flying in tight formation but this happened…
Oh wow. That's horrible.
From every camera angle I've seen it appears the B-17 was in a blind spot "below" the Cobra's fuselage as the Cobra was banking left.
Rip folks, a sad day all round. I might add, that losses like this were nothing compared to war time, might pay to reflect on just how many people gave everything so we can enjoy our today. It's those memories these memorial flights look to keep fresh, I'm sure those sentiments would mean a lot to the folks who lost there lives today, there passionate about it.
There by the grace of God go I - Such a terrible loss of life. RIP to all who were lost and may God be with and guide their families...
Thanks to the reporter for the details. A few corrections: at 1:39 the news reporter should have said "at this time it's unknown how many people were on both aircraft.." not "aircrafts". She also mispronounces "commemorative" a few times. In her defense, reporting on aviation is a niche and you cannot have one reporter that knows everything about everything !
That is a courteous, and extremely generous, evaluation.
