Wow...I was a USAF A328X3 airborne maintenance and flew on this exact plane in 1979 and 1980 and was even stationed in Mildenhall, UK. Those were the days with this beast. Those were the old "water burner injected" engines in those days. Huge black plume of smoke when taking off. I watch this video over and over. Miss those days of being 20 years old, but then if I wanted to do it all over again, I might have to re-experience everything I went thru to get where I am now....maybe
In Grand Forks AFB I watched the B52, KC-135, F4 Pantom, C130, and probably more - 1969-1970. Be In Kadena AFB, Okinawa seen Jolly Green, C5A Galaxy, man now that's a plane. We had one of its ingines at our area 603rd Mass. It was 30 feet long, 12 feet high with a 8 foot intake. They look small on the C5. Also watched SR 71 take off many times. All within 25 yards from us. This was 1971 - 72. Not bragging, just happy to witness it. We saw the video Lockheed made to sell the C5 to the Air Force. Outside the hanger be a sign reads "If it can push a C5, think what it can do to you". At the end of the runway be the road is closed railroad type signals and the closure gates. In 1972 the C5 engines boasted the horse power of 800 standard cars. That was what the video stated I get 10 percent disability for being to close to the planes. We were not required to wear no hearing protection. Lost a lot of hearing. Now I know what turning a deaf ear be really means. God bless. Time is close. Let my take this time to all who read this, Jesus is coming soon. See the time unfolding. Now would a good time to consider be repenting. Time is at hand. Probation it s soon to close. The churches may be closed, but God is always open. Be safe. Be blessed, and above all seek Eternal Life. Re member others while praying. This pestelance will pass. Give God the glory.
My father is 50 years old and he was a sergeant when he was in his 20’s and retired when he was in his 30’s or near it. He flew on the plane dozens of times. He said it had a great airframe and overall was an amazing plane
Allen Murray there are so many different variants of this RV it’s not even funny but I think it was fairly recently. Do you know how many of these are still in service I want to be able to fly one out of pilot training
Yes. Stripped passenger accomodations for bid under floor rubberized gas tanks and there you go - gas station in the air!!!!! Thats why we can keep aircraft up as long as crews can take it. Flyaround the world non-stop, etc..........

NICE. The 135 / 707. Best plane ever.
Wanna bet the crew flying this pane weren’t even born when it was built.

He flew the plane when the engines were still turbojets.
My brother flew RJs! Thanks to all who served.
Old RC-135 Elint crew member...thank you for the video!
i realize it is kinda randomly asking but do anybody know of a good site to stream newly released series online?
I hadn't realized they also retro - fitted the RC 135s with new engines as well as the KC's.

@@airforce1907 No, I have no idea.
Flew the RJ and Scent (front end crew) over at Mildenhall. Miss that place and that great people there.
Damn.......it's my favourite.......aircraft.........in my list.........BOTH KC-135R & RC-135V
Truly said...
Did that poor 707 get a bee sting after it has swollen nose, engines and fuselage?
Is this a Boeing 707 ?

The Pinocchio among airplanes!
Boeing 707 forever !
RC-135, mister...I used to service that particular plane at Offutt AFB. Good ol' 844! 55th SRW, back in the days when it was still SAC.
Actually, the -135 is not based directly on a B707, the fuselage is a bit narrower and shorter.
1:38 Great turn, thank you!
static takeoff for the KC...heavy...guess theater RC has a long mission

The rc135 y'all will never understand how heavy that aircraft really is
Currently my nephew fly that kc135

A flying wing refueler would probably be better.... possibly cheaper...
I'd speculate that there'd be c g.- and other problems with the fluctuating in-flight loads carries by a flying-wing tanker.
