Dissolution study was performed, according to standard procedure on a sample of 6 tablets of paracetamol (500mg). It has been found that 300 mg of drug was dissolved in 30 min. Comment whether these samples of tablets are perfect to be marketed or not
D value of paracetamol is 80 %. It means that after 30 min 80% i.e. 400 mg drug should come into solution. As per your data 300 mg of drug comes into solution after 30 min. In this case you have to perform dissolution test for another 6 tablets and act as per the procedure given in the video.
Thank you for this very clear explanation of how to perform the test. I have a question about why all the retesting is allowed. Would you not instead investigate the cause of the first test's failure before proceeding with retesting? I also have a question about the solution in which the dissolution occurs. Since you're trying to simulate the GI tract environment, shouldn't the solution have a defined pH or pH range?
In a lot of about a million tablet batch there are chances of variation... So retesting is to be done. If pH adjusted fluid is used it give simulation near to the body fluids. It will give correct results too. In some instances like enteric coated tablets we use such pH adjusted fluids.b
I need a calculation method for melatonin preparation How much to draw from the sample, how much is the volume of the decanter and what is it stretched And how is the calculation method
Nicely explained sir 🙂

Sir will it float over the medium in the dissolution apparatus?
I didn't got your question... If you elaborate your question I can answer it.
I need a calculation method for melatonin preparation
How much to draw from the sample, how much is the volume of the decanter and what is it stretched
And how is the calculation method
