    I just received "The Lady of Shalott" HAED today and I couldn't make head nor tail of it. I thought there might be a video and sure enough there was. This is so helpful. It is all clear to me now. Thank you.

    I just bought a couple of HAEDs for the first time so am looking forward to watching these. I absolutely love your accent (very soothing) and I added a bunch of these patterns (the non-ornament Enchanted Christmas Snowman and other snowman patterns by the same artist) to my wishlist. They are adorable.

    Thank you - I am tempted to try a HAED now that I am seeing what people are talking about. I used to cross stitch a lot many years ago when my children were young - got away from it but now think I may pick it back up. TFS

    Fantastic video! I had never seen a cross stitch video before and was never really interested in trying, but I am now inspired. Just downloaded my first pattern from HAED and I'm off to the shops to buy the floss. Can't wait to see the rest in your series (hopefully you post them before I make too many mistakes in my eagerness to get started) :)

    Thank you so much for your clear instructions! I purchased my first HAED and boy, was I overwhelmed. Especially with all the confetti stitching and "parking", which I don't know how to do yet. Onward to #2 :)

    At 71, here’s what works for me. I take my pattern to FedEx and xerox each page at 150% on their largest paper 11x 17” I think. I also enlarge the symbols sheets to an easier larger size. This way I have the whole page at a glance when stitching a particular symbol. I use colored markers and little magnet strips to show me what symbol I’m working on.
    There’s no way you can do this on a computer. Plus I’m not starring back and forth between a computer screen and won’t accidentally erase what I’ve done, plus the turning on and off the computer etc.
    This way, I can just sit down and start stitching. I don’t park so far.

    Thank you for this.. I am new to your channel and I will be watching all your #1-4 tutorials. Thank you btw have you done 1 over 1 on evenweave for a HAED? I was thinking of doing King Henry VIII,,, thank you

    At 71, I took my haed pattern to fedex to xerox 150% each page bc the symbols can be very light on the original pattern. This way I have enlarged 11” x 17” each full page so I can see where the symbols are repeated when I’m stitching one symbol at a time. I use colored markers on the pattern. I don’t use a computer bc I can’t get a whole page large enough for my eyes. I don’t want to have to set up the computer every time I want to stitch plus I might hit the wrong key and wipe out my work.

    I just ordered a HAED pattern and have a question...I want to stitch it on 14 count aida, do I still use 2 strands or do I need to use 3? Oh and can I do the one over one? I'm new to cross stitch. :)

    • @craftybit
      @craftybit  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi! I would recommend doing a test stitch, do a 10x10 test with the different amount of threads you are considering. And then choose the one you feel have the coverage you like :) There are many people that have done it on 14 ct (even 11 ct) just remember doing it on 14 ct will make it much bigger so make sure your fabric is big enough, it will also use up much more thread then the pattern calls for. Good luck and happy stitching!

    In an insane moment (after all I’m 71, lol) I just ordered the Little cake shop, a super huge pattern. But I can always start doing the entire left side first and then gradually move to the right bc I can always stop bc the design itself is not a complete room If you get my meaning. But, yeah insane moment 😂😂😂
    I can also just take a part of the huge design and make smaller pieces.

    Thank you ever so much for this video. I have just bought my first ever HEAD Design and ordered the threads for it. I must say it is a little daunting. I have been stitching for over 20 years and now am a bit scared of tackling my huge design. It is 21 inches by 26 1/8. I am going to do it on 22 aida. I am really not comfortable working with 25ct evenweave Even with a magnifier. I have done many on 18 aida. So I am hoping I will be ok with 22 count. Would working 2 threads over one be ok? I hope it won't be too thick. What do you suggest?

    • @craftybit
      @craftybit  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Tracey Salt I use 2 threads over 25, and I think 2 threads over 22 would work great. It's all about how much coverage you personally like. I would recommend doing a 10 x 10 square and see how you like it :)

    I'm a long time stitcher. Can someone tell me why shes saying this small ornament will take someone like a YEAR to finish??? Am I missing something lol. I am being very seriouse!

    • @craftybit
      @craftybit  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm talking about a heaven and earth designs ornaments. They are about 30000stitches so yeah they can take up to a year to finish. Any other ornament usually takes a couple of days to a week to do, so understand your confusion. This is the kind of ornament I'm talking about: heavenandearthdesigns.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=160_212&products_id=10841&zenid=39c183d14f7c24fdb97f6635e854c639
