To count the size of the patches/joints:
Wide x 2 + 1cm (7cm wide x 2 = 14 cm + 1 cm = length 15 cm)
Wide 7 cm.
Length 15 cm
But if it is very thin paper, one should perhaps only put a 1/2 cm on the length instead of 1 cm..
and is the thick paper, some millimeter may need to be added to the length or the Lapp made to either half or quarter patches/joints
