- Fastpacking the Tour du Mont Blanc in 4 days.
The most physically and mentally challenging trip I've done to date.
The Tour du Mont Blanc or TMB is one of the most popular long-distance walks in Europe. It circles the Mont Blanc massif, covering a distance of roughly 165 kilometres (103 mi) with 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) of ascent/descent and passing through parts of Switzerland, Italy and France.
It is considered one of the classic long-distance hiking trails. The circular route is normally walked in a counter-clockwise direction in 9-14 days.
Stats:
Day 1: 51.01km, ⬆️3251m, ⬇️3098m
Day 2: 41.66km, ⬆️2673m, ⬇️2667m
Day 3: 43.22km, ⬆️2684m, ⬇️2604m
Day 4: 45.38km, ⬆️2487m, ⬇️2648m
Total: 181.27km ⬆️11,095m ⬇️11,017m
Developed tendonitis in my right achilles around 32km on Day 3.
Strained my left Quadricep overcompensating for my achilles on Day 4.
Fun times out in the mountains 🤙
Cheers.

First of all, I admire you. I did TMB last year with my wife, with a huge backpack in 10 days, but this year I want to do it in 4 days, I'm concerned about my backpack, because I want to take a tent with me.
Very cool, I've watched lots of your local trips. Epic you went global! 💪💪
Thanks heaps!
Absolutely epic scenery, much admiration for the challenge you set yourself and completed, thanks for sharing - cheers!

Amazing man. I'd lost track of your videos, I used to watch when you'd do little one nighters in NZ with noodles and eggs. I just stumbled back onto you and you're now doing the most epic adventures. Absolutely awesome!

Wonderful and inspired. A lot of perseverance, commitment and courage. Bravo!!
Hi Janett!!! :)
Thank you!
They say there's one born every day and I've yet to make up my mind which one you are my friend. To finish that trek with an injury to your quad and achilles is nothing short of gruelling. Certainly the greatest effort I've seen you put in over such a distance in a short timeframe is awesome mate plus the filming extras on top of it really calls for a super human effort. The scenery along the way was spectactular. An insane effort all round Zeb so thanks for bringing us unfit ones along on the journey. You have my utmost respect for your best adventure yet. Bushyboy Oz.
@ewengillies9826 thank you for your kind words mate! They motivate me to keep making videos like this!

Phenomenal job mate, amazing run and the pacing of the video was spot-on and engaging. You did a great job of showcasing the scenery while also showing how difficult it was, but also keeping a smile the whole time :)

@@Derek-t9h I appreciate it a lot Derek! Thanks heaps bro.

Great to see you 'enjoying' the challenge! It's a great route and - as you found - pretty tough. I've did it once as a 'sensible' tramp over I think 6-7 days. Also 3 times as a nonstop run with a 46 hour time limit as part of the UTMB held at the end of August each year. It's almost but not quite the same route and for normal runners it involves 2 overnights. Good checkpoints at villages along the way and wonderful crowd support. So weather dependent though and it seems you had great conditions. I really feel for you having injury issues - frustrating to have to call it off before doing the complete loop. However there's always next time - or look at doing one of the similar circuits when you're next in EU. Somewhat different to NZ offerings!
Jeff
Thanks Jeff! 3 times in the UTMB is very impressive! It's a beautiful area and I'll definitely be going back in the future. Yeah my injuries were frustrating but I did manage to complete the loop! I'd love to try the Alta vias and the Haute route some day! If you have any other suggestions id love to hear them!
Thanks for watching.
Cheers
Enjoyed your video very much. Admire you for being so positive despite the pain you had to endure.
@@susiepoon9257 thank you! It's always a good time when I'm out and I love some type 2 fun. Always got to try and stay positive!

Poor legs, have mercy on them 🙏🏻...if I can recommend a joint ointment that can take away some of the inflammation, use the one with Arnica flowers...nice ride and nice video 👍🏻!!!!!
@mountainspirit961 thank you! I've been using arnica for my injuries it is great. Thanks for the recommendation.
Cheers!
Fantastic video. Enjoyed watching very much. Thanks for sharing. sub & 👍79
@@KhurshidsChannel thank you for the kind words! Really glad you liked it.
The hard surface is very cruel. You need some mud and tree roots and less formed surface.
Yeah that's the downside to well formed tracks. I much prefer a rougher track but the downside is you can move as quick.
Cheers!
Ensuring that you have sufficient water without carrying to much must be the biggest problem to solve really, or?
Absolutely! I always carry a litre and then I try plan ahead with what water sources are available to dictate how much extra I need to carry. I normally manage to get it right but not always haha!
Cheers
