I was 19 in 1989 and really loved the song and seeing it on TOTP while living in Leicester and studying at the university. The video is brilliant too in telling the story of the lyrics. I used to play it on repeat several times in a row. Pat Kane's voice is first class!

i am also a Linda,and i did run away from my husband and went down to the central station,in Newcastle,i was so unhappy,i met a lady that chatted to me and i poured my heart out to her,she said come on with me im meeting friends in town,even though i wasnt dressed for town just trackies on at the time,i went along met her friends had a good night and a few drinks,then shared a taxi home with her,she was so kind and i havent met her since..i did divorce my husband and im in a better place now..single still but happy..could do with the arms of a man around me at times,but there you go..this song brings back so many memories for me on that cold lonely night all those years ago..cie la vie..
