Oh my God the beginning sounds when the video started brought back my earthquake fear/ memories right away. Here in Alaska we are still having aftershocks. Mostly 1 and 2 pointers but in the past couple days I felt a 3.8 and a 4.1. just from Saturday night to tonight. So basically just three days.

I don't know but it sounds kind of stupid to do that "cover and wait", first of all if you just go down anything that's hanging, high or heavy could fall and injure/kill you. If you cover under a desk/chair/table you're probably gonna be burried under them. Most furniture is not thick enough to protect us. The best option is to use the triangle of safesty, to one side of a tall/high table or object you create a triangle where anything that falls hita the table and not you, it might damage the furniture but you're cover. The first thing to do I believe is to move away from windows, stoves, and any object that can fall. Go cover beside a column of thick concrete and iron or furniture that is taller than you and wide/long and protect eyes, head and neck.

The American Red Cross debunked the Triangle of Safety, check the USGS (United States Geological Survey) and the American Red Cross websites regarding earthquake safety.
Why the triangle of life does not work as most people assume it does is also explained in a TH-cam video on the channel Disaster Survival Skills by an emergency rescuer who has experience in rescuing victims of earthquakes. You are far more likely to be injured and killed by smaller debris falling and hitting your exposed back than to be killed by a total roof collapse, which itself is not likely to happen if you live in a county with modern building codes.
