1:48 - the King of Wessex, Alfred the Great - which would possibly make the Ragnar lookalike into Ivar the Boneless, whose invasion of Mercia Alfred fought. Funnily enough, Ivar was supposedly Ragnar's son. Also funnily enough, this is the first reaction to this trailer, where somebody HASN'T pointed out how similar the main character looks, to the Ragnar fro the Vikings TV series.
I think that guy who was standing by the tree at 3:05 was Odin, who then transformed into a crow , so I guess your character will be able to call the gods / see em or something like that , It'd be cool . Also mark my words, this will be the biggest AC map ever , since on the North America trailer it has more details etc, and it says you can raid England
To anyone planning on playing this game I HIGHLY recommend going and watching the Vikings TV show, its on amazon prime. Its a sick series but also explains all the lore behind the vikings including all the historical characters we might see in this game. We've already seen one of them (being King Alfred).
MasterPOG10 .. Vikings explores the grandfather and father of King Alfred. “The Last Kingdom” is even better when it comes to Alfred, Ughtred and the old kingdoms.
Vikings weren't really known for their Naval combat, instead their longboats were more for travelling. What I expect is that you'll be able to traverse the sea (of course) and canals in England.
What I love are the subtle hints that this guy is the Assassin. You could tell that he was following the tenants of the Creed: In that one shot with the woman and child, how he stops his friend from killing them: "Stay your blade from the flesh of the innocent."

Wessex was the last Kingdom in England standing after Mercia, East Anglia, and Northumbria fell. Wessex was ruled by King Alfred the great, who became famous because he documented everything down in writing. For more context the vikings who are from mostly Denmark and Norway are invading England because they needed a better home that wasn’t so cold and wet all the time.
This takes place around 865 AD during the march of the Great Heathen Army. The Englishman we see I'm assuming is Alfred the Great. The areas we'll be exploring will be Norway and England.

5:04 The Templar have true hatred to the assasins. The knights templar and the assasins have always been at war with eachother. The templar have always wanted total control. They want a world where they decide what is allowed and not allowed. They will always supress anyform of free speach as then nobody can prove them wrong. They will do anything to get that control. The assasins want the opposite, they fight for the ppl, free will and will never kill unless it is absolutly necessary. The ultimate goal of the templars arent necessary always bad as they dont want a world where ppl are killing eachother. But the things they are doing in order to get to that goal is disasterous for every1 that dosent just blindly follow them. AC Origin was if i am not mistaken the start of the actual assasin´s creed brotherhood as a group. I could be wrong about the timeframe but it looks like this was somewhat of the beginning. I expect Ubisoft to follow this line into Valhalla. It will most likly not be a real assasin game as if u look into history the vikings were not known or feared for there stealth. U could argue they used there longships for stealth approaches but in combat not really. They raided they hade there war cries there could definatly have been some stealth ways in there tactics depending on what they attacked and ofc for scouting purposes but there main way of combat was definatly hit and run style. Get into a village create mass panic take whatever isent bolted down and leave. It would be cool if they somehow showed this in the game during raid missions. The moment u start combat an alarm goes out that u cant stop and how long do u risk to stay. Overtime the reinforcments will come that u cant deal with so if u stay to long u die and lose all loot but if u leave to early u miss out on more loot. That could be a cool way to show off that.
I don’t know if you noticed but Alfred if Wessex (the King in the trailer) was calling the Vikings savages and such while the trailer showed their mercy and love of their family. It also makes sense that the Saxon’s would be the Templar’s, what with them being the English ancestors and all.
